Odd question. ID asked me whether i want a fan in the porch...
Is that normal??
Only thing i told him is put a double switching thing sockets. one lower at most normal heights and the other nearer to the front of the porch

second cause hmm made me realize everytime have "Jamuan" etc.. need that socket for fans/light for canopy.

Hi cstkl1,

Though your question wasn't directed at me..anyway..its common to have a fan in the porch..especially if you have a sitting area. Only concern is make sure the fan does not overlap your existing lights...else the rotating shadows will make u pening.

As for the sockets...its always nice to have extra...and make sure it has the weather covers if its prone to rain..and also have another point to control that socket from the inside...so you can turn it off when not in use as a precaution.

Hope these helps..

Good point on the cover part. Will relay. This is the same one right they use for outdoor ponds etc??

No sitting area. Just wondering should i or not. Reason y i dislike the idea is cause of dirt.

As for me it just doesn't look 'nice' (looks abit uncle/aunty's hse tongue.gif), unless you have a proper sitting area. If you are considering a fan will be of good use when you do car-polishing or for a pet, then just go ahead. As I said, a house design is to suit our living style but not the other way round.

The guy who drew my house plan once put in 2 pendant lighting points (at the car porch) in the drawing. I asked him why is that so... He said for lantern mar... I was like, "errr....no thanks....".
Later I knew why is he assuming the need of lanterns... He is a Klang guy.. Most chinese house in Klang with 2 red lanterns... tongue.gif

A 2 way socket is essential but make sure the area is covered under the roof. If wanna use for pond or outdoor garden lights must lay armor cable (water proof).

Most rooms, living room and laundry area already have a new fan hook attached by the plaster ceiling guys.

Laundry area, has wood truss hidden by the plaster ceiling, Living area has original concrete hidden by flat plaster ceiling with L box cos of all those beams running across.
Rooms I think has wood support added to the metal structure.

No la, it's just that the bloody laundry area is quite small and there are 2 downlight hole placement.

So I am scratching my head because the fan has to have short blade without the flickering from the downlight and the hubby insist on a ceiling fan right there than a wall fan. So I've been looking at alternatives for that without breaking the bank. Saw the Fanco Piccoli P1 but it is RM500 for it

My mattress and bedsets are coming in 2 days time (tue). The guy who served me was ok and accommodating to some of my special requests. I have also made a last minutes request to postposned the scheduled delivery...due to haven't done the cleansing (chinese way of throwing rice to 4 corners)....

Pls stay tuned and I will update you guys after the delivery...kinda worry if they send the right thing per my request or not...coz i'm not taking the combination per their standard package. Hope things gonna be fine...

Guys, you really can't underestimate the total spending....
Just when I thought the horrible spending spree has almost comes to the end, today spent again another close to rm2k in a kitchenware warehouse sales and Homedec last-minute-shopping, buying those small small things that you probably will not factor into your budget planning. Bought a Brabantia ironing board, varios sizes of glassware and wine glasses, pots, air tight containers, floor mats, velvet cloth hangers, table utensils, etc. Nearly bought the Philips air fryer too if not they were out of stock on the black color ones...

Now that I realise that I've yet to buy my pingan-mangkuk, waste bin and another audio system for study room.... sweat.gif

My Vonza/decor-point's mattress and bed divan sets came in this afternoon as scheduled. Those are bought in Homedec one year ago. tongue.gif
Every parts is correct despite mine is of a different combination from their standard promotional package.
For those who didn't know, there is a thread in LYN specially talked about the bad services from Vonza or their another division, Decor-point. Mine is under Decor-point. Thank God, I'm lucky again this time!! whistling.gif

Bought a king and a queen size each. Both pocket springs mattress with toppers are from Goodnite. Head boards and divans are good and nice too. Foc a matching color bench chair and 4pcs memory pillows.

This is how's the original bench looks, which the sales guy was throwing in foc for my purchase. As you can see from the first pic above, they've sent me another bench design which is very much out of my surprise that it is actually of better quality! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

So, here ends my worries on the beds.... sweat.gif

Oooo...you went for the Kitchen Shop warehouse sales? I'm so jealous! A lot of nice, branded cookware on sale. Btw, u mentioned waste bin. Did you not like the brabantia bins? With a ten year warranty, I felt it was worth the investment! The floor mats you mentioned are the memory foam floor mats? Also very nice to use. But...so much stuff for only 2k? Wow...really worth it. Do show off some of ur purchases rclxms.gif

Btw, very nice and matching stool. I'm glad they had the sense not to send u the red one cos it would be so out of place in ur home tongue.gif

Yup, 3 compressors at front of house but nope, not hiding it as they don't bother me... cool2.gif
