G2 | Features

5.2" Full HD IPS Display
user posted image
G2’s 5.2" Full HD IPS display gives you a superior visual experience with true-to-nature colors, sharp text, high-definition details, and a cinema-like 16:9 aspect ratio.

Its rich, 423 pixels-per-inch resolution shows off every detail, and its Full HD IPS display gives you bright whites and more accurate, lifelike color representation without over-saturation or eye strain.

13 MP Advanced Camera | Dual Recording/Dual Camera | Tracking Zoom
user posted image
13 MP camera features breakthrough optical image stabilization (Optical Image Stabilizer) technology, which stabilizes your focus while you hold the camera so you get less blur in photosand less shaking in videos.

Plus, Multi Points AF initiates fast and accurate focus for multiple faces or moving objects with 9 AF points

Dual Recording/Dual Camera lets you activate the front and rear cameras simultaneously, so you can record yourself and your subject at the same time.

Focus in on your favorite subject, without losing track of the big picture. Tracking Zoom lets you create unique videos with a picture-in-picture frame that highlights your selected subject’s movements, while keeping the rest of the scene in view.

High Quality Sound | Zoom to Track
user posted image
G2 delivers high quality audio without distortion for Studio Master files, supporting 24-bit, 192 kHz Hi-Fi playback for FLAC and WAV files. Additionally,
G2 features multi-mic recording with advanced noise cancellation, so it captures and recorded audio with clear sound even in noisy environments.

Zoom to Track makes watching videos on your G2 more interactive and fun by letting you selectively zoom in on a subject during playback.

Snapdragon 2.26GHz Quad-Core Processor | Long-Lasting Battery
user posted image
Enjoy silky-smooth graphics while watching video orplaying games, browse the web faster, and juggle multiple apps with zero lag time. No matter how you like to use your G2, you’ll get a more seamless experience powered by Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 800 Processor with 2.26Ghz Quad-Core CPUs.

G2’s 3,000 mAh SiO+ battery gives you surprising power, without compromising style, so you can keep going all day—and look good doing it.

Guest Mode | KnockON
user posted image
You’re not always the only one using your phone—but with Guest Mode, you can personalize a user experience for yourself or a guest, controlling which apps andcapabilities are available depending on which mode you enable.

A simple knocking gesture is all it takes. Just knock twice on G2 to gently wake your phone’s display without picking it up or pressing the power key. G2 senses the gesture and turns the display on.

QuickWindow™ Flip Case - http://www.lg.com/global/g2/sub4.html

LG QuickWindow™ is a flip cover case that protects the smartphone from scratches and most dinks thanks to the folio covering both the screen and the rear. It features a special cutout in the middle of the top portion of the case in order to provide access to the screen. This includes clock, weather information, incoming calls, messages & etc.

Actual Look - thanks shawnsean for the actual case snap. smile.gif

Can you write in proper English?

Your writing style look headache and err... silly actually.

Even if you don't like Samsung, no need call it what samdung, and your refusing write device as device but in-fact deswai? Do you think such way really cool and smart? Not actually, you just make people difficulty reading on it.

QUOTE
Motorola pushed things to the edge by reducing the bezel around its display – enabling the handset to really become snug in the hand. Like everything in tech, yesterday’s big thing can quickly be phased in the blink of the eye. And of course, the LG G2 showed us that today, as the bezels around its display appear to be even skinnier!

yeah, good shooter with OIS, not many have this. only lumia's and HTC one got OIS
and thin bezel

was wondering if anyone know how the speaker perform (i am spoilt by dual frontal stereo speaker) and if this S800 is equipped with envelope tracker, just like the one found in Note 3 where it saves battery for the modem, especially on LTE

seems like LG has come up with a trump card to revive their fortunes

From review, the speaker is not good.

GSMArena - Below average loudspeaker performance
PhoneArena - Now, if this screen could just be paired to the HTC One's speakers

Isnt it reported that the G2 will arrive on the US by the end of this month? If so, does msia usually get flagships before, around the same time or after it has launched in the US?

Ya, I am disappointing with Sony move.

Sony finally use great panel in Z Ultra, everyone though same treatment will be given to Z1 but in-fact Sony decide use back not so good screen panel.

Not sure how the final product, but from all hands-on now, 90% is not so good viewing angle, better than Z but can't compare with Z Ultra or any flagship phone in market.

Lol finally. I thought nobody is interested in this phone.

Crazy when compare side by side with One X, this is only slightly taller even though the screen is half inch bigger.

US price seems to be between 575-630USD so official price maybe 2299.

LG G2 should be S4 opponent. Note3 is phablet category and should be compare to Xperia Z ultra.

Why must compare same screen size? Maybe I'd like to compare all S800 devices. Screen size is just one of the choices. Can compare the G2 to the Note3, H1 Max and also XZU since they all have the S800 SoC.

i'm talking about phablet. doesn't matter what processor.. how about Note 3 with Exynos? not in the league? whistling.gif if you are hardcore gamers, using a lot of heavy apps, i understands u. but for a common user, especially who needs smartphone for professional/work purposes, it doesn't need too much processing power.. does iphone give a damn about S800 to works buttery smooth? raw power is nothing la brah.. the overall hardware+software device performs as one. most people highly anticipated that Note 3 will work as good as it claimed, but wait until u get it in hands brah, afraid later u will muntah. biggrin.gif hopefully not. whistling.gif

EDIT: f.y.i, HTC One running on S600 is smoother and more stable than XZU running on S800, my personal experience.. so u want to muntah at HTC One running on S600? LOL

bro if your talking about hardware + software performing as one, even note 3 lose out to nexus and moto x. Moto x have mid range specs but you read all review, not a hint a lag and battery life is awesome. too bad we wont be getting moto x here.

no bro, don't get me wrong, i'm not talking about which processor is more powerful lah. sweat.gif i don't care much about that because i rarely use heavy apps.. functionality is more important to me.. of course, at least the device should run smooth for daily usage.. if not, confirm i ditch la

ultra ui is one of the most simplest ui. Not much to hog it.

Samsung's ui feels childish, but so does LG's, the difference here is that LG manages to keep it smooth all the time. HTC is on a whole new level.

I am still have no faith in their software update. No reliable date, they just keep come out new phone and stick to that Android OS for its life.

Still LG is fine for those who doesn't care what's the android version as long as the features is there and usable.

Hopefully soon, as Android 4.3's Open GL 3.0 + Adreno 330 is certainly a winner. tongue.gif

Surprisingly, LG's UI turned to be superbly smooth and responsive (aside colourful schemes that i found less favoured) since my last experience with O2X and O4X HD.

Kudos for that but still, up to date OS updates is always welcomed as we don't need it to be fast delivered but prefer stability. biggrin.gif

I disagree with you all.

LG software part kind similar with Samsung, LG never far behind, LG far behind is it brand as LG not famous.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Z Ultra UI is damn awesome! the 1st thing make me buy the Z Ultra is because of it smaller icon, and Sony added much more animation on latest firmware now.

Now my hesitation on getting the Note 3 not only the screen size smaller but also the UI. Samsung UI also nice, but if compare with Sony, I much prefer Sony UI.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sense 5 UI is the most ugly to me, frank said, especially the way HTC did in new notification, OMG! terrible ugly.

Maybe because I like more animated UI. I believe LG UI is very animated and the way it end the swipe in the home screen is awesome.

Anyway, I'll check out new .510 UI since you say its more animated. hmm.gif

Maybe because I like more animated UI. I believe LG UI is very animated and the way it end the swipe in the home screen is awesome.

Anyway, I'll check out new .510 UI since you say its more animated.  hmm.gif

For lock screen, LG doing the best looking one. Always the most awesome! I agree on that.

Lockscreen? Well, I'm talking about swiping home screen.Haha.. anyway, will take a look again at XZU. Probably the icon in XZU is small. Thus, it looks erm, not that yummy. sweat.gif

Ops! haha! But what I dislike on LG UI is certain icons is too cartoon.

And the way they did on navigation bar combination in home screen is not nice. The navigation bar icon is way too big and obvious and etc.

My rank on UI design:
  • Sony
  • Samsung
  • LG
  • HTC
  • Motorola
* I not really like pure Android design in main screen, the app drawer icon does not match with the rest at all.

I disagree with you all.

LG software part kind similar with Samsung, LG never far behind, LG far behind is it brand as LG not famous.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Z Ultra UI is damn awesome! the 1st thing make me buy the Z Ultra is because of it smaller icon, and Sony added much more animation on latest firmware now.

Now my hesitation on getting the Note 3 not only the screen size smaller but also the UI. Samsung UI also nice, but if compare with Sony, I much prefer Sony UI.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sense 5 UI is the most ugly to me, frank said, especially the way HTC did in new notification, OMG! terrible ugly.
*
Agree or not. Samsung still offer latest Android for their new flagship device like Note3 out of box. icon_rolleyes.gif

I don't find Sony UI is shit. It is well design which look elegance.

Samsung UI never boring also.

Pure Android is the most smooth and stable but actually is the most less features as well.

I don't know what make it look elegance, I mean Sony UI, for me it just look like old version android, nothing more. and btw I'm not the people who keep playing the phone all the times like doing billions business, so personally I prefer stable.

new owner of lg g2 korean set reporting in smile.gif got it from cubixshoppe. bought the korean set because of the 2 removable battery and sd card slot, and also LTE-A when i go to korea (or 10 years later when it's available in malaysia kakaka) after deducting the price of the extras you get from the korean set i think it's same price as local set or note 3 or z1 or lumia 1020. didn't buy the note 3 because i want a smaller phone (was using note 1 before). didn't buy the z1 because it doesn't have the IR blaster and OIS though it has a bigger sensor. as for lumia, though image quality was the best i was concerned with the time needed in between shot. and also apps availability on Windows, plus i sometimes need to test Android apps. absolutely love the Quick Window case. and my phone has a TV antenna kakakaaka. The camera shutter is superfast!

G2 also use the same UI as G Pro?

That is one true innovation unlock method. Over long usage, power button tends to get loose up. Still , LG update for 4.3/4.4 will always remain mystery. And my guess LG Optimus G probably will stuck at 4.1.2 forever.

Still, we'll see if there will be google edition.

FYI, LG malaysia bring in those flagship very late to the market. Take a look at LG Optimus G. It was release like last year, but local availability begins around HTC one release.

True, Samsung and Sony are strong in TV Advertising. I think Samsung dominates the most. That's why its selling like hot cake. Not to mention they keep the removable battery and SD card storage extension which LG don't offers.

Speaking of which I never see Sony advertise XZR on tv, instead they focus on XZU.

because LG is less popular in Malaysia. price it the same, i doubt many would be convinced to buy it even if it's supposedly better. even LG TVs are priced lower compared to Samsung for comparable specs

have better spec doesnt mean itll be more expensive than s4. otherwise why wud samsung spend so much on advertising? indirectly they are passing back the advertising cost to you. whereas lg doesnt have such an aggresive marketing strategy, the g2 price as i mentioned in thailand is about 19900 whereas s4 is still selling at rrp now.

I'm not saying it should be priced more expensive, I'm saying the buyer should be more willing to buy even though it may be more expensive. If the buyer know that the product is better, why would he demand for a cheaper price before buying? Just because you know the product does not have brand awareness that is as good as the competitor? If you like the product you shouldn't mind paying more for it. Considering that G2 is a better product, paying a little more wouldn't hurt, would it?

guess they either don't have the budget or they're happy with the current sales. the only time they advertised a lot was when they changed brand name from Goldstar to LG.
look at the LG Malaysia facebook page. they can't even update or bother to update it. last update was like many months ago. if i were in charge, i'd rather take down the facebook page than leave it outdated

The knock2 features need extra sensor or just software?Really like to have it on my nexus phone.

have better spec doesnt mean itll be more expensive than s4. otherwise why wud samsung spend so much on advertising? indirectly they are passing back the advertising cost to you. whereas lg doesnt have such an aggresive marketing strategy, the g2 price as i mentioned in thailand is about 19900 whereas s4 is still selling at rrp now.
*
Key point is, why would I want to even look at a less superior smartphone.. First thing first, specs and features that the phone offers, price come later.. Doesn't matter if it's cheaper or more expensive, I always buy a phone that I think the best in market and worth the price based on the specs and features it have.. Ppl give me to look at S4, I straight away say no no lor..

I wonder how many bought this handphone already.. From the reviews,I personally love it, might my my first Android phone after using BB for years. Hopefully the price can be OK'ed a bit more once all other S800 flagships from other brands are widely available in the market (Z1, Note 3) hence the competition.

Anyhow, I'm sooo ready to eat megi mee for the whole Octoberr..lol happy.gif laugh.gif

me too prefer capacitive button, but LG justify the touch screen selection by providing us with button arrangement and theme customization. and for me, it's worth it.

the knock2 features seriously a really nice features. now i keep on knock2 on my htc one mini and nexus 7.. doh.gif

thanks! the price estimately around rm2099, coming in october.. tongue.gif

the performance is definitely fast, but the interface smoothness lose a bit to sense 5 on htc one. display is very bright and colorful.. err and it's as bad as galaxy s4 under the sunlight, which is kinda hard to see unless i slide the brightness to more than 60%

battery wise, it's much better than both htc one and galaxy s4..

regarding the buttons at the back, honestly my finger is still always looking for them, and most of the time i have to turn back the phone to find it myself.. but the KnockON feature is damn nice and i feel elegant using it tongue.gif

LG always release their phone late in Malaysia. When they release it here all the hype will be gone already and people will be looking at the next flagships.

They should learn from Apple and Samsung. Not more than a month after announcement available already. Even Sony have ramp up their game on fast availability after announcement.

I'm so in love with this phone because some of the features are inspired by Nokia (i.e. double tap to wake up phone)

LG is always a great contender to many of the mainstream flagships, but to gain more market share, perhaps LG should improve their pace of releasing firmware updates.

auto-brightness works well on my G2. One of the reviews I read also mentioned that it's one of the better auto-brightness phone out there. under direct sunlight, IPS panel will definitely fare better than AMOLED panels used in the Samsung Galaxys and Notes. By far, every single review will call out the G2 IPS LCD as one of the highlight. Before this i was using Note 1 and the AMOLED colors sometimes are too real until it looks fake.

love this phone, but i wonder wether its the limitation of the ips or cutting cost, the dark frame between the screen and bezel is quite noticeable compare to other....no matter how thin the bezel is, tht kinda defeat the purpose.

this phone is the 1st to get snapdragon 800 cpu, but yet it comes later then note3....haih...

some bezel is good so that when the hand grips the phone it doesn't touch the screen accidentally. i guess it's LG Malaysia fault for not bringing in the phone early. But you can always go for the Korean set which is not that much more expensive since you get additional removable battery (RM100 at least), MicroSD card slot, desktop charger, and some other accessories, and LTE-A (maybe can use in Malaysia 10 years later haha)

anyway, here's a panoramic shot taken using G2. wanted to post more but can't seem to add photos beyond a certail file size.

The score of S4 is similar with iPhone 5, not as bad as S III. This same on what I said, since S4, AMOLED display pretty well and balance.

Erica Griffin had made a video showing different in between S4 v/s G2 v/s One, she also do benchmark, and it proof LG G2 over pushing up the vividness also, it is even over than S4.

From picture below, it is obvious show LG G2 is even much vibrant than S4 AMOLED and overlap more details. The S4 wise never show it is over vibrant or wrong saturation fake color.

HTC One is consider the most realistic. You can see g2 is way more colorful than htc on and s4. Thus g2 is fake.

yupe

yes a bit awkward to use, but for single hand operation of the camera, its easier to hold the phone while shooting

but still weird to turn ur hand like that for landscape photos, portrait is no prob since ur already holding the phone that way

korea version also comes with 2 batteries of 2650mAH each. important i think since my Note 1 battery died after slightly more than a year. SD card allows you additional 64GB storage. And if you happen to go Korea then you can use 150Mbps LTE-A and watch TV on the phone. Cracks my friends up when i pulled out the antenna from my phone smile.gif

Last Saturday I try it out at Singapore.

First impression
  • Awesome screen.
  • Crazy small bezel, I feel my Note 3 tick bezel when put side by side.
  • Awesome camera.
  • A bit bulky but still solid feel in hand.
  • Power and volume button at back really feel something not right, I don't feel comfortable using it. It a bit hard to reach for me, and keep searching on it.

Well, u got it quite right. LG don't do much update major OS. They did promise to devoted to provide up to date android OS since LG optimus G(still 4.1.2, while competitors are on 4.2.2 or 4.3 for flagship), but they failed to achieve that. And it still follows the same situation as LG Optimus 2X, and so on.

How's your LG G2? I worry about imported sets as the unit is unsealed unit. Most of the time, reseller would open up the phone and change the hardware inside.

I heard some reseller will change it, then the hardware become volatile and easily spoilt. Thus, then will charge you when you send back for warranty. But i not so sure which reseller doing such thing larh.

Too bad since there's still no test unit of G2s around. Shops oso still carry limited units of this model, they think better for them to sell than show now,i think.

btw terion, hows the battery life for the unit so far? is it normal, or good, or the best? laugh.gif

battery life is good, usually i charge every 24 hours or so at least got 20% left before recharging. charges pretty fast too. as for the speaker volume, it might be soft but then it's a phone, not a hifi smile.gif

for those of you that has the Korean set you can download the LG PC Suite from here http://www.lgmobile.co.kr/lgmobile/front/d...dMain.dev#phone

It's basically LG's version of iTunes. From there you can get software upgrade. Latest firmware is 11C but I can't update since mine came with a custom ROM so will need to restore to Stock ROM first.

You can also download On Screen Phone and LG Mobile Sync for Android but both doesn't seem to work with the G2. Do download the LG United Mobile Driver since you will need it to upgrade the firmware. And you can download the manual from that link too

of course, the only quirk is if you use the native SMS app, any message longer than 160 characters will be converted to MMS. somehow it has something to do with the fact that 1 korean character is equivalent to 2 english character, or something like that. easiest way to solve the problem is to install other sms app i.e. Go SMS Pro.

Bought mine from cubixshoppe too. Apparently, this LG G2 (both Korean or international) sold out really fast.

Another seller is lumheenleong in lowyat forum. He has a FB page named "8nergy".

The other one I found is Fantasytech in Lelong. His price is lowest at RM2099.

Been reading a lot of reviews and sees alot of videos, now what i'm expecting is how good nexus 5 will be.

I'm using gnexus now, either nexus 5 or g2 will be my next upgrade. How good the battery life is on gaming? Usually nexus can last 2-4hours of gaming.

He charge me RM2239. What about yours?

The 2099 is Korean set, but the seller only offers 1 month warranty. Local AP set (which is D802) offers 2 years warranty (directd).

Both cubixshoppe and 8nergy offers 1 year warranty.

I guess the G2 will always be the underdog compare to Samseng Nota 3

When I went to Maxis Center at Sunway Pyramid to get my LTE activated, waited around 30 mins and in that time i think i saw around 7-8 SN3 being sold with maxis plan shakehead.gif

Ya, a sad truth. Rules of the world, popularity always wins. I went to The Gardens last week jalan2, and I saw people swarming at the Samsung outlet there. HTC booth beside it? Empty yawn.gif

Oh by the way, I just bought myself a G2 rclxm9.gif ..damn this baby sure selling out fast. Went I went to the shop, only white version available. I decided on the spot to just go for it, instead of waiting for another restock.

I'm so glad I did. laugh.gif . A quick rundown after a couple of days of usage;

Screen: BEAUTIFUL
Speed: DAMN FAST
Camera: GREAT
Battery life: AMAZINGGGGG~

I'm a bit picky when it comes to battery life. But for this one, I think LG just nailed it. Put it off charger at 5am Monday morning, now around 2am Tuesday (I'm working), with 64% batt left. Data always ON, Sync ON, and I'm on 3G outside, and WIFI at home.

Anybody still having doubts about buying this phone? Dont be, becos the only bad thing about this fon is that, u will be RM 2K poorer after this..haha sweat.gif

Singapore selling only rm1850 which is way much cheaper than Malaysia as these 3rd party importers is making a higher profit.
I noted in Spore retail prices of only Samsung, HTC n Sony is usually 10-15% higher than M'sia while other brands eg LG, Huawei, Nokia is cheaper

Hi All,

Bought an LG Optimus G2 in Indonesia last week, original Warranty LG Indo and comes with free LG Bluetooth HBS-730 headset and cover + a Line bear doll cost me less than Rm1800

Compared the picture quality during low light environment with Lenovo K900 (with F/1.8), the pic came up less bright however it produce lesser noise...

Was considering the LG Optimus G Pro (loved the 5.5 screensize) in which only 1599 RM down there, instead taking the G2 due to the camera..

I'm using this casing, pretty good cause it has magnet in front which is needed to activate the quick window function. The only downside is the window is covered with transparent solid plastic so can't swipe.

The original one replaces the back cover so it's even slimmer but cost close to rm200

Mine is still naked, except for the screen. had to buy a custom SP since no one is selling G2 accessories yet *sigh* .

Oh, another thing I noticed is that, once u put a screen protector, the KnockON feature is kinda disrupted. So try to invest in a high quality protector, or better yet, this:

Did you cover your screen sensors? I read somewhere that someone had the same issues. By not covering the sensors with SP, KnockON works fine again.

I was thinking about this one. Cheaper and features oleophobic.

Like they always say, it's scratch resistant, not scratch proof.

But, flip case does decrease the chances of getting scratched.

Did yours come with free screen protector?

Like they always say, it's scratch resistant, not scratch proof.

But, flip case does decrease the chances of getting scratched.

Did yours come with free screen protector?
*
mine comes with 3 free screen protectors. the clear ones are finger print magnet while the matte one takes away the lustre of the gorgeous IPS screen

I think the international model features FM radio. Korean package comes with dock charger, and additional battery (total of 2 batteries).

Mine is still naked, except for the screen. had to buy a custom SP since no one is selling G2 accessories yet *sigh* .

Oh, another thing I noticed is that, once u put a screen protector, the KnockON feature is kinda disrupted. So try to invest in a high quality protector, or better yet, this:

http://www.iloome.com/LG-G2-Screen-Protect...d/dp/B00F4IJ93W
*
i got my SP from a seller here - https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...972669&hl=lg+g2

mine does not cover the sensor, so no issue with the KnockON

anyway im always getting this annoying notification, even thought i can access 4G/H without problem.

and when i click on it it starts the browser and goes to this site:

is it my phone settings wrong somewhere?

Exactly. Only the ones who follow the news/reviews are buying them here, myself included. Update wise, I'm still skeptical though. Their previous flagships are still lacking in updates. Since they went all out for this phone, I just can hope for the best. drool.gif

Yeah. In Indonesia, it's a healthy competition. LG have quite a few models here. Apart from that, most of the telco shops selling Lenovo too. I couldn't find the 1.8k price yet since most of the telco shops operated by the operators re selling the official price of RP 6800000 which is about RM1966. Will try to venture outside from my hotel place in coming weeks to look for the better price. LG G Pro is selling about RM1.5k here btw.

That also depends on the brands, how serious they are to attack the market.

LG is quite serious, as they have huge assembly plant in Cikarang/Cikampek Area over there.

However the only cheaper phone brand I can find beside LG, are Blackberry and Nokia. (only applicable to the basic or entry level model)

Samsung and even Lenovo brands are more expensive minimum @ 200 rm and above compare to MY.

e.g. Samsung Note 3 price is Rp. 8,888,888 translated to RM = 2,500++ while over here new one can get only Rm 2,169

Even I heard someone willing to pay an Iphone 5s gold edition @ 5k Rm cash in Jakarta..

U r correct . International version is bigger in capacity but I do find 2610 more then enough for a whole day use . Put it on par or the most , little least then Note2's battery life .

There's an option in 11c software to change it slightly smaller but then again , anything smaller need to be rooted to make it slimmer

Here is a antutu benchmark test for G2 (F320S ) vs LTE-A vs Note 3 . Both G2 and Note 3 are running custom , deodex rom while LTE-A is just stock rooted . All with same apps . On paper , u can see the difference , LTE-A leads but hands on experience , not so much . I expect u to be a robot or a human with super powers to feel the difference in terms of smoothness or lags . Camera wise , individual preferences . Frankly , go for LTE-A if u like big screen , its least 2k now for new as price has dropped rapidly this month due to Vega Secret Note coming out end of the month .

Faced this in my previous Vega and present Korean set LG Optimus g Pro too - I don't think there is any software solution . This issue quite commonly reported too in other forums. I have tried to google for solution but have given up already.

Yeap. It is definitely not available in the Nexus device. Nexus devices are pure android (meaning empty in the phone) That is why they are lag-less. I wanted to get the Nexus 5 also, but the battery capacity and no expansion slot is really a deal breaker.

Depending on your needs. internation version has got no expansion memory and non -removable battery at (3000mah) while korea set is removable battery at (2610mah with memory expansion)

BTW, has anyone has any idea in regarding of D802, F320S, F320K and F320L?

The differences between these codes?

The D802 is the International-Asian version i think found in HK, SG, Indo, Thailand.

All the F are for Korean
F320S - SK Telecom
F320K - Korea Telecom
F320L - U+

I just want to add that if you're getting the Korean version, get either S or K version. The L version only supports LTE I think. S and K version support our local LTE band of 1800. Of course the international versions supports 1800 and 2600.

The International Version of LG G2 has a Lithium Polymer Battery.. that's one of the factor the battery last longer compare to other Lithium powered Mobile Phone... even though only 3000 mAh..

Yay just got back from satu gadget. Thought of buying the white one n its more expensive. Asked the guy to show me the black one instead. For me black looks better
*
I rooted for the black one also. But I never had a white-colored phone in my life before, so this time, why not flex.gif

And I just received my TPU case for my phone (finally) this evening thru Poslaju, and it fits perfectly. Same color as the phone, but the case looks whiter n shinier. Yay laugh.gif

Yup. It's 3845#*802# ..the last 3 digits is the model number, mine is international (D802) so i put 802. It will take u to the hidden menu.

Another one is the testing menu *#*#4636#*#* ..u can test your basic function there.

Wow, that's the price there now? When I bought it the price was 2099 for the white. Black one was sold out. Maybe just my early bird luck.

It's a sealed unit. The day i went to find them, it's a sealed unit with a sticker. I think they re-label them after they open it. All units from foreign companies usually are open units.

sharing my experience on reverting my G2 F320S back to stock firmware as it was unrooted and flashed to a custom Chinese ROM when I got it:
- refer to this link to download the stock firmware and the necessary tools: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
- ran into trouble after reverting to the stock firmware - phone keeps on complaining com.android.phone process has stopped. after a few times, the phone will restart itself
- the key to successful revert to stock is to hard reset the phone after that but it was challenging as the phone keeps on resetting
- supposingly for the korean version, you can also hard reset by pressing the Vol Up + Down + Power button simultaneously and holding them until a korean menu came up with 3 selection and you choose 1 using the up down button at the back. It's all in Korean and Google Translate doesn't help, but none of those 3 selection works
- managed to prevent the phone from restarting by switching it to airplane mode but the same error message appears
- managed to get the phone into English mode and did factory reset.

After that did OTA software update from 10M to 11C (~80MB). Can also update using LG PC Suite but doesn't seem to be able to download the update.

Happy camper now with tons of Korean apps, some doesn't work without the SK Telecom uSIM card.

Also got Q-voice (voice command i think, haven't tried it out yet)

And most importantly wifi storage is now working (previously it always crashed on that custom chinese ROM). With Wifi storage, your phone behaves like a network drive biggrin.gif

Cool. Thanks for this. Since now you're on stock, I'm wondering:

1. How's the battery life on stock?

2. Does USSD work?

3. Do you have notifications asking you to join network? (Even though you're already connected).

Also just to clarify, in order to go back to stock, after flashing to stock ROM, change language to English, and then factory reset?

Cheers! smile.gif

1. Can't tell the difference in battery life. Seems like just as good
2. Tell me the USSD code for celcom postpaid and I'll test for you
3. No notification to join network. If you are using the Korean set remember to remove the IP address and port number of the apn

The flash tool also allow you to restore the stock ROM in English. And once done remember to factory reset. Good thing about stock ROM is update notification.

The Q Voice app is in Korean only. Still can't get the LG On Screen Phone to work.

Typed all these on my G2

Thanks for the prompt reply. Wouldn't it be so weird that the phone is in Chinese rom instead of Korea Stock Rom? HOw does it feel when you first use the phone/unbox the phone? Is it like a new set phone or the phone is actually a used set?

The phone transitted in China before coming here. Reason given was cheaper to ship that way. I guess that's where the distribution hub is. The seller said he thought I'm Chinese so he asked the partner in China to flashed it to a custom Chinese ROM. The custom ROM is good in a sense that the navi bar is half the standard height so you get more display real estate. The battery percentage is also shown within the battery indicator itself, not separately. Unfortunately wireless storage wasn't working and of course all the Korean apps like DMB TV is gone.

The box is opened, and the phone serial number and IMEI doesn't match the box. Other than that everything else is in order. Phone feels new, display screen protector still on and all the plastic covers are there. Only thing missing was the manual. Seller said it's common for them to open the box to check whether the phone is working before shipping to Malaysia

Thanks for the valuable information. I was being told that the phone is cheaper to ship from China to Malaysia. Same with what shawnsean mention below.

The seller told me that the phone is being root because of the SMS settings (sth related to 80 font characters and 160 characters, therefore it's better to root and flash with custom rom). I wonder how come the manual went missing? I am quite sceptical after getting the information from you. Not sure if it's really worth getting the phone from these resellers. Any one mind to share more?

simple . Ask him not 2 root for u . Especially Cubix Shoppe . His intention is good as unlike other phones , korean phones eg Vega , LG or even Samsung for korean market , even with root , u get OTA . However u lose your root once u update it .
AND , its not custom rom for chinese . It's just a patch flashed in on top of the stock rom for the language + bloatwares removal . However , most of the time their own bloatwares goes in eg Taobao apps , QQ chat app , etc . . .

leidragon and lumheeleong are both partners for 8nergy. DynamicG seems less reliable as compared to Cubixshoppe and lumheeleong. Just my own perceptions though.

Looking at the price. It's 100 difference from the other seller. And probably a few hundred different from the korea version. Lolz.

Yes bought it. Previously wanted the white after watching so many videos on youtube.

Black 2099
White 2149

International version.

I went to 1G over the weekend. Wahlao, it's like mobile phones are free. The main counter was crowded!

Anyway, the price for G2 is different from yours. It's the other way around. Black is more expensive than white.

Black RM2149 (RM50 higher)
White RM2099

root and custom ROM won't solve that SMS issue as i still faced that with the Chinese ROM. Basically anything over 160 characters will be sent as MMS. Simpler solution would be to use apps like GoSMSPro. BTW with the Custom ROM you can't get OTA anymore. There's no option in the phone to check for software update and LG PC Suite doesn't allow software upgrade, at least on that Chinese ROM that I had

No , no international warranty in malaysia for almost all the brands of phones . . . Y dont just get a local set from those AP resellers ? U pay more but at least u dont have headache when u have problems . They might not fix it for u but at least they know where 2 send it 2 . Sure , u save 200 or maybe 300 . If u have problem , u have 1 least headache of where 2 send to claim it

I personally think that the Curved screen is not a necessity for the current trend, but the flexible screen would be. Not sure if the curved screen gonna add in any new features or not though. But i believe the vulnerability of the screen will greatly reduced. We shall see how it performed when it launch into the market.

I see, thanks. Ya I read about touch issues when using no-brand glass SC. Need to look around some more, or wait until more brand available.

Not only touch issue , sometimes the edges tend to come up . I go for Glassview , not 2 pricey compared to SGP , around RM80-100 depending on models but as good as SGP and also , they have a lot of LG models in tempered glass unlike other brands where they only make for famous models . My Optimus series was using it all the time and recently my G2 as well .

Guys, I've been wanting to get my hands on this phone for awhile now. Been lurking around and I saw a couple of people selling it. Are these sellers trusted? I mean, they got it in here before the official launch. Will there be any issue with their phones? Just wanna hear some opinion from you all.

another difference between international version (D802) and Korea/US version (F320) - the international version doesn't have front LED notification light.

found out while shopping for casing. anyone interested in groupbuy for casing?

This is not true. I can confirm that it has front LED notification light. Red while charging, green if you have notifications, KnockOn will emit white light.

Most LG flagships are stuck with just 1 Major OS OTA Update and its done for it for its LG Flagship phones history. I don't think you would lose much unless its a big leap.
