the thing is, the real test for both HSFs is if we run them passive to really see which will perform better.
xigmatek needs the airflow i suppose, while the AC doesnt ><

That's the issue with tight tower heat sink design ... it's like Ultra-120 also //

must equipped with nice fan that has strong static pressure rather than purely airflow ...

Yah AC Freezer and HR-01 are one of those ..

Works well with low RPM fan .... even pushing the fan higher also doesn't make much difference ..

besides off that Asus Artic Silent Square also not a bad performance however the price is really a set back ...

I think most likely is mounting issue .. .there's no way a stock cooler could beat performance cooler without sweating too much ....

just have to wait more review on it ...

Where is the manual of ur motherboard when u purchased it ???

Why are manual are supplied if no one even bother to read.... why can't anyone make use of the money that they paid for. Reading a manual won't take more than 2 hours and no exam is required. So why can't take the initiative to read it ????

Why can't one understand what styloe mentioned in the previous post ???

Is it too hard to read properly before posting ....

Gigabyte installation disc comes with Core Center software that show the temperature, clock speed and fan speed of the mother board.

I apologize if my words sounds harsh but again and again many forumer posted at the wrong topic and the wrong question....

Hitting 60 is pretty much close to the wall which is 70 ...

yah running ur processor over 55+ all the time indeed would reduced it's life span ...

Either the cooler doesn't works well or u have poorly assembled the cooler ...

Try to remove the cooler and check out the pattern of the thermal paste left on both sides ...try to look for the contact level and if both sides really contacted well..

hmm .. if he's using 8600GT, in general it should be the first generation of socket 775 platform that make still make use of DDR1 ram ..

So on my guess, the processor should be based on socket LGA 775..

anyway only he could clarify the doubt here ... where's he ???
