But price is rm1k liao... Do some research on Gear live charger cradle build quality issue. Advice you to skip it, it's not a looker to me also. |

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Jul 22 2014, 08:01 PM) Skipped all and wait for Moto360!!! LG and Samsung been bashed by owners for not having charger replacement available. Basically meant, if you lost or break default charger, the price is a brand new smart watch, that's the only way you may get it.One Unified Qi Charging to conquer all!!!!!!!!!!! |

QUOTE(petrofsky77 @ Jul 23 2014, 01:03 PM) Not confirm but from their recent pricing of phone, should not be exceed RM1k. Previously hints at average $249. I'm perfectly happy to give up to $300 ( in sense of RM1K )QUOTE(tarm @ Jul 23 2014, 01:22 PM) Just getting myself a LG G Watch from Expansys Malaysia (http://www.expansys.my/lg-g-watch-black-263260/), cost me RM860 (including superfast FeDex which took only two days delivery from HK to Malaysia). Been contemplating to choose between this and Gear Live, however bigger battery, more flexible charging dock and better display during sunlight (altho a bit lower resolution) made me to choose LG watch. So far the experience has been great. Although got some ux flaw, but the integration is more seamless than pebble, sony sw2 and samsung gear that I have used before. battery life and vibration motor are on a weak side, however already using custom rom on this watch (Gohma ROM) to improve things up. things look super promising so far with android wear, can't wait for Moto 360! Is the Gohma improving battery life and smoothness ? Most review site mentioned, G watch able to last 1.5 days max. |

QUOTE(tarm @ Jul 23 2014, 11:25 PM) My quick comparison between LG G Watch, Pebble, Sony Smartwatch 2 and Samsung Gear. Looks wise, put on custom strap and skin ( love my leather skin on Pebble ). Given you kind of like smartwatch, gonna get Moto 360 once available ? I am fortunate to have the opportunity to own several wearables throughout these years, starting from the original Sony Smartwatch. Since it is related with my personal academic research, I have put great emphasis on usability and user experience of these weareable on my study and since then I have owned several other wearables, including Pebble, Sony Smartwatch 2 and Samsung Galaxy Gear. I have skipped Gear 2 and Gear Fit in anticipation of the arrival of android wear watches. When Pebble started their kickstarter campaigned I have contemplated to buy between it and Metawatch. Both are comparable in term of specification, price and still infancy on that time in term of developer support and community. Luckily I have choosen Pebble and now it is herald as one of fine example of how a smartwatch should be. Long story short, here are pros and cons of all wearable that I have used so far: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Apologies for grammar mistakes (so tired after a super hectic day), this all is based on my personal experience. Feel free to comments and ask me questions, I try my best to answer it. |

QUOTE(tarm @ Jul 24 2014, 01:36 PM) Thanks bro for the advice, luckily i didnt peel off mine yet from the charger. Still exploring the possibilites offered by android wear, but I truly believe this can become de facto wearable platform in near future, and of course we yet to see what Apple can offer to the scene. Hence why Moto 360 with possibility of wireless charging is the solution. From reviews I read, Android Wear still pretty much in it's infant stage. Awaiting bullet from Apple and Microsoft, to heat up the competition and in turn speed up development of Android Wear. After all, Android is the most flexible ( open source ) and with developer community, much can be done on it. Given Google had tendency of adopting community inspired features into native Android, Android Wear should expand fast |

QUOTE(tarm @ Jul 24 2014, 02:02 PM) Kairos. World's first mechanical hybrid smartwatch. Beware that the video using rendered image. The actually transparent watch face is unsure at the moment. To view UI properly, it cant be too transparent, but then mechanical part become not clear enough. To view mechanical part clearly, the UI is too transparent to be useful. Am waiting for final product or at least real demo unit to judge it.Android Wear + Old skool watch. Nice! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « https://kairoswatches.com/ |

QUOTE(zhou86 @ Jul 25 2014, 11:33 AM) Speaking about the Kairos, I saw it as a "Preview" project in the new Stabhub (Singapore) crowdfunding site Crowdtivate: https://www.crowdtivate.com/searches/searchall Scroll down to the bottom. Btw, when Moto 360 arrives, will you guys set up a Bulk Order thread? I am very interested to join you guys if possible. p/s: Thanks @tarm for the photos and the detailed comparison. QUOTE(NightFelix @ Jul 25 2014, 11:56 AM) Let's organize bulk if Malaysia are once again forgotten by LG Malaysia. Hopefully our neighbour S'pore have it |

QUOTE(tarm @ Jul 31 2014, 01:04 AM) My ideal smartwatch (please htc, samsung, lg or any other watchmaker read this) 1. Pebble ( 5 days continuous usage )1. Long battery live (if possible longer than 1 week) 2. High resolution but highly readable display during daylight. 3. Intensity-adjustable vibration motor. 4. "Normal" watch design. 5. Android wear OS. 6. IP67 or 68 certified. 2. 1/2 Pebble ( ePaper highly readable but low resolution ) 3. XDA community should able to hack it ( maybe Pebble had already ) 4. Define normal. Got many normal watch also squarish, bulky and ugly. Pebble Steel looks rather good. 5. - 6. Most have it. So in conclusion, pebble is closest to your ideal smartwatch 1. There's only so little space in smartwatch for battery. Android Wear OS is a slim down version of Android, means it required processor as powerful as smartphone's, and while it's touch based, mic as input and most people demand bright color screen, I dont expect battery life of Android Wear OS to reach 5 days even on next year. What they need to do is user friendly charging method, for example Moto 360 with wireless charging. You're charging your smartphone everyday ( even midday also ), so I had no issue charging my smartwatch every night. 2. ePaper are highly visible under sun light but low resolution and mono tone. Other color screen will not have visibility as good as ePaper, only solution was to pump brightness, but it will affect battery life a lot. Closest solution is Mirasol ( as seen on Qualcomm Toq smartwatch ) 4. More coming. There's a HTC event next week, possible their smartwatch. Asus teased they're working on affordable smartwatch. Samsung just patented round face smartwatch. 6. If I'm not mistaken, all Android OS smartwatch MUST have certain level of water and dust resist. |
