- because if running, need bring phone with you is really a hassle, and the purpose of smart wear is no more...
2. Can it work like a independence android device?
- if only work with smartphone, then no more fun on smart wear, it just a accessories, like a earphone...

Yes, minimum is 4.3, which is not really that hard to achieve because only "tech geeks" are into smartwatches for now, and most probably the phone they have is 4.3 and above.

I think Pebble still has a place in the market NOW. Because its already a stable platform (>3 years experience). So the original $150USD Pebble is still worth getting, even more so during promotion periods. But if they don't come out with something improved or new fast, they will lose the race...because the development/support for Android Wear is growing each day.
I would still go for Android Wear or its devices. Its more mainstream and you get better support by "bigger" companies.

Haha, me too. I will wait for Moto 360 first. If too expensive (I really hope not!), I will settle for LG G Watch.

I believe the bootloader can be unlocked already and there's even custom rom available. Perhaps this can improve the battery life slightly.

Is Pebble still relevant now that Android Wear is out? Granted Pebble is the only watch so far in the market that supports both IOS and Android but Android Wear looks promising with what it can do more.

Omate announced their new watch. Omate X. Doesn't seem interesting. Dont see any simcard slots. Looks like its companion only mode compared to previous version which is a standalone smartwatch
