question: should i put a layer of top coat on real grade kit?
only detailing and decals, no painting.

Why not? I was told by a friend that 'white' gundam need to coat with top coat with UV protector. Or else by time it will turn yellow.

Hi

A noob question, after airbrush how do i do the panel line?
Do i need to topcoat it first then use marker pen or use different tool direct to the paint job?? rclxub.gif

wallace : panel line as i know got a few methods. u can use gundam markers or use the thinner+black enamel paint method. u do this obviously after u airbrush ur model.

pls panel line before top coat. top coat suppose to protect the panel lines.

they are a few actually if you look hard enough

i personally knew a couple with both husband and wife enjoying gunpla, mostly of unicorn era, with the wife bagged kshatriya for herself and the husband bought the 3rd RG in line (that was a couple years back)

^ dangerous.. imagine a husband having to support his and the wife's hobby tongue.gif of course there are cases that each will buy their own, but surely there are cases where the husband pulls the wife into the hobby and now has to support them both tongue.gif the paiiinnn

I've at least converted one or two female colleagues at my workplace, although they only bought HG and SD.

Seems like they were impressed by the time I put my Sinanju on my desk biggrin.gif

@jctasoga; well i do panel line after airbrush, but when i try to wash it, the marker seem is stick on the paint job and hard to wash it (those panel out of the line hehehe)

i was thinking would it be like, top coat it first then panel line and then flat coat it final???

Looks like the paint didn't dry completely if it 'expanded' (line looks thick).

The gundam panel liner should be easy to wash off even by swiping your thumb 2-3 times.

well, he bit the bullet, but as you stated, the wife also treats her husband too, so it's more of a therapy, to say the least tongue.gif

When I went to GA last week, I saw one cute chick, really cute, browsing through SD. Then angkut like 5 or 6 SD. Then come along his dad, bought MG Geara Doga with GP01 RG. Cute family. Hihi

Well, let get back to gunpla story and discussion. 2 things I wanna ask:

1. Any of u guys ever thought of coloring the eye or psycoframe with the UV marker, the one that shines under UV? Its invisible under normal visible light, but once u shine some UV light on it, wallah! The problem is where to get these UV marker and UV light. I know Mat Kool ice cream give those for free looong ago, I remember playing with it when I was in secondary school.

2. Any idea where to get LED? Just LED, not the whole Gundam LED kit. Wanna make some adjustment to my wing, put some white LED behind its wing for some 'angelic' effect. brows.gif brows.gif

1) never seen on in hobby shops.. tho you can try searching for UV nail polish (yea the ones that girls used to colour their nails with) and it's permanent and waterproof too.

2) electronic shops along jalan pasar.. or any where else (not electrical appliances shop)
