maybe we did have similar encounters in the past, but back then our transfer dealing werent made so OPEN by the club, therefore all the backlash from the fans because the club failed to deliver (that alone is one of the flaw in our way of conducting imo)

You don't blindly stand behind a club without criticizing certain aspects of what has been done. I support what the team is doing on the field. I support the managers decision to field the players of his choice (sometimes painful). But i won't support the handling of transfers throughout this window.

The club overpaid for Fellaini, he was just a panic buy. If he was the first choice, the club should have paid his release clause earlier, or is this uniteds way of saying sorry to Everton for poaching moysie?

All our transfers before were done quietly as to protect both clubs and the players involved if anything happened in between. Now, all our transfers are in an open book.

David Gill and Sir Alex stepping down almost concurrently hurt us bad. I will continue to stand behind the club and manager, but i will not stand it if they cause the downfall of the club Manchester United.

The owners and upper management must learn and do something about this worrying window, but must not be forced into any panic buys anymore. There is no value in the january window. Prices are normally inflated and players have already started their season for their respective clubs.

Not sure if this is true, but seems to be rumours that United have a record 350 million pound revenue for 2012/13. rclxms.gif Sounds like that is almost enough to pay

the remaining debt. If this is true, you can thank Ed Woodward for the money coming in. tongue.gif

Supposed to put this one up last nite. but due to that bloody transfer window thingie & too busy fapping over those potential players joining. Hence the post now.

Flash back to weekend's north-west derby game. I dunno about u guys but we were simply overrun by their midfield. brazilian midfield + their captain + always-looked-blur-kid were pressuring our midfield duo all the time. We were stil playing our usual 442 whilst the home team were playing 451. Leaving their spanish + ex-Internazionale on the wing & the other 3 kept hassling our C16 + Clevz. C16 was unable to take his time and spray those delicious pass/cross that he intended. Hence the lost possession in the 1st half. But that 1st half performance is more than enough a testament for me that we bloody need a bulldog in the middle of the pitch to stand firm and kick opponents back to their closet and strike fear in them. Since early days, we had Keano, then came Hargo, and then Fletchinho at some point. I didn't put C16 in the list 'cos he simply not that kinda hard-tackling midfielder. Like my last long-post illustrated previously, he's likened to Pirlo, an all rounder that read the game well and make tackles when necessary. We've been crying for that steel in midfield for few years now. Fair enough, we make do with what we have in midfield as SAF chose to reinforce other areas of the field, which he did splendidly. 2nd half, home side is already started to protect the lead and not conceding. Seriously, with pariah centrebacks duo of them, we should be able to shackle them down with our constant wing play. But no, our wing were non-existant until Tony V came in. If you look at our midfeld that started that nite, Clev-C16-G11-Youngie. The latter two were non-existant until they got subbed. Offered no threat at any point of time. Waste of my time watching the team play. Wing play is always our forte. ManUtd without wing play is not ManUtd. So don't bloody change it. But sadly our wings were clipped that nite. Clipped by Glen-bloody-Johnson!! I personally never rated this guy at all. Their left back on the other hand...........Their 2 little wingers were so easily shackled if play with muscles. Just look at how Tony V shook off their beloved brazilian playmaker with ease (Welcome to BPL, beetches). There's a reason why Internazionale wanna offload him. Mark my word, he won't last long in his current club. Rmbr that "flying" Chilean winger that they once so proud lastime? He's currently plying his trade in Russian league now.

Anyway, we lost the game to ourselves. Not to the home side. Players failed to turn up when it matter the most. G11 has been starting for 3 games in a row. I have a jersey with his NNs on. But I think enough is enough. Player at his age should be a bit part player, not starting high-tension game like this. Bring experience to the young 'uns u say? How dafuq are the young 'uns gonna gain experience if you keep starting those old fags?!?! I foresee the same to Rio next season onwards. On the question where Jonesy should play. This guy is our new utility player, no doubt. But he impressed me during his Rovers' days when he was playing centre back and charging like a bulldog for every single ball as if his life depends on it. I'm not sure why SAF wanted him to play different position ie. DM/MC/RB but his true, natural position is where Rio + VIda is playing now: Centre-bloody-Back. Read a few articles, realised that my beloved DDG had a quiet nite aside from that fortuitous goal. But safe hands when called upon, which was rare from the home side.

Then again, what's done is done. We lost the game. 3pts gone. Like Vida said, it's stil early days. No need to panic yet. They might win the battle, but we will win the war!

Back to last nite's tranfer dateline. I came across a post in redcafe that you lotsa can read it HERE. What the poster said is rite. We've got bloody 2months to do all the stuff. But no, they decided to leave it til the end to do it. Seriously, u kidding me?! Kayu flew back to UK when the squad was in Australia tour in the middle of July. WIth the level of technologies nowadays, is it really necessary to fly back that urgent?! Seriously?! I kenot brain wtf was he doing since then.

Then, came along those ridiculous bids. £25m opening bid for Cesc. £12m for Baines. Less than £30m for the Everton duo, then increased to £35m for both. I'm not sure what weed are they smoking but these kinda bids are bound to get rejected without question. Not forgetting that we went public that we wanted to sign Cesc. I can't rmbr when was the lastime during SAF era that we publicly came out do that kinda announcement before the deal is completed. Heck, we always get surprises. We were linked with Thiago, then to Cesc, then to Cabaye, then outta nowhere emerged Herrera. We've got 2 months since June, 2-bloody-months to get all these settled but this Kayu chose to clock-up his airmiles for no goddamn reason. In the end, we only got what we've crying along, a steel, a threat in the air, an afro in the mould of Fellaini. Which brings me to another topic, DM has been a Toffee for the past decade me thinks. He knows well enough the contract that he negotiated with Fellaini. There's a release clause existed in afro's contract which expired in end-of-July. What was Kayu doing then?! No one knows if DM indeed had a gentleman agreement with Bill Kenwright that he can't use that clause. However the truth is Bill decided to screw DM over and we ended up paid few millions quid extra for afro's service. Some people pointed out that afro being 1st/2nd/panic buy. If you do not work in corporate world before, u don't know the trick at all. So read my previous redcafe link punya post. Until then, stfu.

As for Herrera, well this got me exciting outta nowhere. Those who knows me I'm a FM gamer. I played this guy before in one of my previous games and Herrera is like a combo of afro + C16, an all-rounder of a midfield. Can tackle + creative but physically abit sweat.gif I'm surprised to see his name suddenly popped outta nowhere. Could this be DM's new scout team's recommendation? If true, I think we can expect more already. Then again, Herrera was one of the star performer during our defeat to Bilbao in Europa League few seasons back. He has a release clause of £30.75m/36m euros. What did our Kayu do? He bidded 30m euros. But then again, this is still unconfirmed as apparently some "impostors" were in the mix and wanna get a cut outta the Herrera deal and pretended to be United officials. You can get more details in HERE. Poor kid. he reportedly willing to reduce his wage to join us, only to be screwed over by these buncha money-psychos. If we ever were to go back to him again during winter transfer, I doubt he will join us, again.

If Herrera deal were to go through, I can foresee both afro + Herrera will be our main midfield duo that'll boss BPL for a foreseeable future. As much potential as Clev has is concern, it'll depend how his development goes. Don't forget, Carrick aint young, we need someone to replace him, and that someone will not be Clev 'cos both of 'em play differently. That being said, with the addition of afro, i hope we can play that 4411 that once made DM's Everton so successful lastime around. Wing play + SS/AMC or whateva dahell uol wanna call that position + lone striker.

With that being said, that concludes my long post is long. Mau watch aeroplane drama riao.

Interesting article on the Hererra case.

SOS

QUOTE
“What a mess”. Those were the words quickly doing the rounds on Twitter last night when news trickled through that the deal for Ander Herrera was called off. Newly appointed Manchester United CEO Edward Woodward was blamed thousands of times for multiple things, but one word came up more than once: “incompetent”. It's hard not to agree with the accusations, but a question everyone wants answered is “what actually happened?”.

First of all, it's worth nothing that the “three wise men” spotted walking in and out of the LFP (Liga de Fútbol Profesional) headquarters were not impostors, but a group of Bilbao lawyers who had dealt with Athletic Bilbao (especially in the Javi Martinez transfer) before.

Other than talks of the deal breaking down over the release clause, it appears there was an obstacle that even Bayern Munich struggled to overcome when they attempted to sign Javi Martinez.

Lartaun de Arizmendi, a journalist for Cadena COPE (the radio station who first broke the news that Manchester United were interested in Ander Herrera), has revealed in a post on his personal blog that, irregardless of the reported clause, the Herrera deal was near impossible to complete and that Bayern Munich needed external help to force through the Javi Martinez transfer.

He says that after much reflection on the Javi Martinez case, Athletic Bilbao came to realise that the player depositing the cheque on Bayern Munich's behalf (even if Athletic were against the move) wasn't enough to make the deal 100% go through. Once they had discovered this detail, Athletic used it to their advantage and told Bayern Munich that for a unilateral deal like this one to go through, the club has to agree to receive the fee in their bank account.

If Bilbao refuse to receive the money, and there was no obligation for them to do so, the will of the paying club (Bayern Munich) and the player (Javi Martinez) counted for nothing. In order to force the deal to go through, Munich contacted the Financial Council in Bilbao to tell them that this offer was being refused. The Financial Council, who would benefit from this deal going through, pressured Athletic Bilbao in accepting the money by telling them that if they did not do so, they would be required to immediately pay all the debts they owed the Financial Council and would not receive anymore help from them in the future.

It is only after this happened that Athletic Bilbao accepted the offer for Javi Martinez and have the money placed in their bank account.

Returning to the Herrera deal, it appears that there was never any panic on Athletic Bilbao's side and it was reported many times that they were confident the deal would not go through. If what Lartaun de Arizmendi has written is true, Bilbao knew that Manchester United would never have the time to get the Financial Council on their side in time for a similar process to happen.

If Bilbao refused to accept the money in their bank account, this would explain why the three Laffer lawyers were turned away at the LFP headquarters yesterday evening.

Edward Woodward (or whoever was in charge of the deal) was not aware of the loophole exploited by Bayern Munich and why would they be? Athletic Bilbao will have clearly done their best to keep it a secret in order to hold on to their best players.

As we all know, Juventus had to wait an extra year to get Fernando Llorente on a free because they hit a stumbling block similar to the one Manchester United crashed into late last night. Again, if what Lartaun writes is correct (and logically, it seems to be), Juventus would not have known of the Javi Martinez loophole and Bilbao stubbornly refused to accept the money.

Lartaun writes at the bottom of his post: “This is what I have managed to find on the Ander Herrera/MUFC deal. Now, it is up to you to draw your own conclusions as appropriate”.

We will, Lartaun, we will. If what you say is true, perhaps Manchester United are not the only ones to blame for this deal falling through.
