titanium (light, a dress watch that take on sweating)  / sapphire crystal (better if AR coating)/ self-powered (auto/ solar/ kinetic)/ <RM2,000

currently these are on my radar screen,
Casio Oceanus ocw-t1000b-1ajf (stretching a bit and it's in Japan, selling for $1299 in Singapore)
Citizen AT-4010-50e
Citizen BL5250-53L (no SC glass)
my RM2K budget can only afford a sea-gull (or few Seiko kinetic, entry level ETA) if I want a mechanical/ auto watch, reviews in WUS mentioned Seagull comes in different qualities but generally over perform at their price range (except being a "China" brand i guess, many being skeptical on this...).

saw earlier posts discussed a bit on the Kemmner watches, a bit uneasy as review revealed that they don't managed to reply customers inquiries in time and would have to send the watch back to Germany if anything goes wrong.

My 2K Budget doesn't fit Stowa/ Laco/ ARCHIMEDE well I guess.

Sent in my speedy for a check-up and service today, and asked about the LLD strap replacement. Only RM187.50! Unfortunately, 22mm, so won't fit the reduced speedy. Tempted to hunt for a cheap(er), used, speedy pro but am holding up for bigger fish

Ok -- they literally just called me back. Crown was iffy and could be repaired. RM35 or so. According to technicians, no service necessary yet. My speedy was last serviced in 2006, so I'm quite happy it has lasted so long. On the down side, I suddenly feel like I have a disposable 1.9k

Thanks for suggestion. The reason why i stick with 6K budget because i worry she dont know how to appreciate a good movement in watch.

Also, plan to get a watch for myself with my year end bonus with budget 32K. Initially, locked my target at Zenith El Primero or Jaeger Master Compressor. But my friend advice me to get Rolex GMT Master 2 instead. Reason behind is higher resale value in future. Is it true?

a) Buying in Malaysia will always be cheaper than SG (until GST takes effect - and even then it'll probably still be cheaper even if you get corporate rates in SG). After adding in exchange, answer becomes pretty obvious. Only reason I can think of to buy in SG is if the watch isn't available in Malaysia (rare cases but typically easier to find JDM Seiko in SG).

b) Decide if you are buying a watch to enjoy or a watch for resale... Example: Watch X is RM30k, but looks like crap and has pubic hair for the hour and minute hands... but you can sell for 99% value after 3 years. Would you buy it? Obviously this won't happen la... but I'm sure you get my point. I'd rather have 40% resale and love the watch rather than have something I'm not "that" happy with and remind myself that I can recover 75% when I sell the watch. If you can find something with good resale value AND you really like it, then by all means.
