QUOTE(Eiraku @ Sep 5 2013, 11:43 PM) Wait later I put vinyl. Will look nice AND feel nice. please take pic... of your PIMP out Notebook okay 3M actually not THAT expensive. Large square grid of 3M CF pattern enough to cover Kancil bonnet is around 50-60. Other weird patterns like brushed alum and stuff will be like 70-80 at most, same size. Problem is, you'll have to have the patience to cut it and paste it yourself. Or you can send to "laptop skinning" shops that prolly use substandard vinyl and charge you double that... edit: i found out 3M on cpu/gpu is abit lacking... and i finally understand IC diamond thermal good for... is how the thermal won't allow cpu/gpu temp go over 70C... (well it's my theory ..or my opinion) This post has been edited by Unseen83: Sep 5 2013, 11:48 PM |

QUOTE(davidmak @ Sep 6 2013, 08:10 AM) Hello all, New proud owner of a MSI GT70 here! Great laptop! Has anyone been able to download the latest Killer driver (version 1.0.25.1224) for the 1202? For some reason the download would always stop half way and terminate. Same happen when I download from other computers (and of a different internet connection). Anyone has a mirror link to the file and kind enough to share? killer driver msi |

QUOTE(180sx @ Sep 6 2013, 12:50 PM) Hmm.....seriously this is a big problem for me. I change hdd very frequently, test which ssd works best for me. Can't bring my lappy to msi service center to change and get charged for something i know how to do it ASUS service center will never charge you for duration of product warranty.. yes you may upgrade RAM/SSD by yourself but recommended bring service center as ASUS center worst they are..u not meet MSI yet lol.. well this is my opinion laaGuys, how about Asus G750JX? Good alternative to gt70/gs70? Am considering Asus now. |

I finally managed to download the driver from Killer's website. Followed the instructions and updated the driver. Now, it appears to lose connection randomly. Damn... QUOTE(Eiraku @ Sep 6 2013, 02:26 PM) Do remember, MSI-NB nicely worded his reply. "MSI RECCOMENDS...". It was never "MSI WILL VOID WARRANTY UNLESS..." ok Similarly, even our beloved Dell "recommends" all upgrades be done by Dell personnel. Illegear too. I'll take that as a wink2 hush2 way of saying "As long as you don't poke a screwdriver clean through your processor..." Remember, if MSI does officially condone user mods, all sorts of sheet will happen. WHILE the "sheet" can be worked out, I can understand if MSI doesn't want to be on the receiving end of abusive users taking advantage of that situation. It's just a legal thing. They have their own asses to protect. While I'd give an arm and a leg for a company that's brave enough to screw all of this and provide all that freedom OFFICIALLY to their customers, it's not particularly easy to fully implement. Well, like I said before, as long as they "fairly" judge each warranty claim than it's all good. ALSO, this "Gamers Meetup" thing might be a good platform to provide users with the opportunity to upgrade. Just take a few techs along and set up an "upgrade/quick service corner", users bring their stuff and the techs can help install them for a small fee (or even better, for free). Also the techs can help clean up user units that have dusty fans or help repaste for a reasonable fee. Us gamers like these kinda "goodwill gestures". Especially the ones who aren't that proficient in doing things themselves. Does a lot on the CSR side of things. Happy customers are loyal customers after all. Heck, I'm actually very happy just by having an OFFICIAL MSI rep monitoring the thread. That's already one thing you guys have over other brands, kudos. That's just me with me long winded 20 cents as usual. YMMV. @zakov: GS40? YES PLEASE MSI. But do wait for Maxwell first so that I don't have to sell my kidneys. I already sold my liver for the GE40... |

QUOTE(davidmak @ Sep 6 2013, 05:04 PM) Oh by the way, I decided to use the standard DDR3 1600MHz 1.5V modules and it worked without any issues. Wonder why some retailers are so stubborn to insist only DDR3L 1.35V. Funny thing is, they don't have any DDR3L stock when requested to upgrade. Just silly... MSI words lols joke about smoke but... i got 32GB of Low voltage... im happy... This post has been edited by Unseen83: Sep 6 2013, 06:19 PM |
