Sorry for necro your previous comment but may I know why MSI service is worse than Dell or Illegear?

I think looking for a 17 inch hopefully with 870M to replace my old G73JH. I'll be bringing it for oversea travel so Illegear is kinda out of the question, sadly.

I might be traveling for months, having a decent warranty support from the start is good.

Still how is MSI laptop's reliability? Are there any major issues, like malfunctioning firmware? Is it easy to maintain the laptop like the heatsinks easily accessible for cleaning?

According to a news from a customer of mine servicing her GE40 at sydney doesn't cost her any $$ at all...

Just bought a GS60 Ghost Pro at JB PC fair. how is the performance wise compare to my current Asus G75VW that I bought 2 years ago? Main reason i bought this is because of the weight and size as my G75VW is just too huge

anyway i bought this because want the portability compare to my giant G75. manage to sold it to another forummer at 2.4k, so i only top up 4k for this babe

yup. the laptop originally comes with a back pack and a gaming mouse.
Their free gift is either gaming mouse, gaming keyboard, gaming headset or 500gb hdd.
I opt for cash instead since I prefer to use speaker instead of headset.

i want more portability. been tired of carrying the G75 around for sometime. and the specs on this machine quite nice. light and easy to carry as well.
tried playing dota 2 earlier. smooth. but I notice my game is lagging (connection side). last time on G75 connection is perfect on my Yes 4G. hopefully is just today's network cacat.
but Yes network is stable all the while though. just don't know why this machine lag. mayb some original software running some DL at back end?

Hi shin thanks for the feedback, I'd tune the bass to Max but still the bass is not noticeable. Is there any problem with the speakers? The sound is loud but just the bass weak.

Just to share some info for MSI GT70 2PC & Razer Tiamat 7.1 Headphone, I got headache yesterday to get this work with this razer 7.1 headphone. The Bass was dead whenever i enabled the 7.1 speaker. I googled around to enable the Bass Management but where the heck is this function, its missing at realtek control panel. Finally I removed the sound blaster cinema and installed the realtek ALC892 driver (not from MSI) only then I saw that sound effects tab and bass management.

From my point of view, its better not to use soundblaster cinema software, the bass is disabled in 7.1 speaker. Even in stereo mode including built-in subwoofer, the bass is really weak.
Now, surprisingly, without sound blaster cinema, I can hear the built-in sub woofer which was not noticeable before, very strange... 

Can I uninstall my Sound Blaster Cinema 2 and then install dolby v4 into my msi gs60? Cause Im not satisfied of its fine-tuned for my earphone.

Hey guys! A MSI GT70 2PC Dominator user reporting in!

Just want to ask, anyone experiencing lousy internet connection and frequent connection drop while using the wifi?

I have on board a killer e2200 wireless adapter, and thus far i've tried everything from downloading the new drivers from atheros and msi website.

It seems to me that it has something to do with the killer network manager and/or the network driver. I can't seem to figure out which is the root cause. What i've done so far is uninstall all the killer network manager software and services. I only installed a bare driver which is currently running the "killer wireless-n 1202 network adapter".

Any ideas/clues? Its been a few weeks now and i cant seem to find a solution. Thanks!

Ya, i've tried everything and anything that smells like a solution ive found on the net. It could be the modem because i called Unifi a few weeks back to ask regarding the internet connection but they said it's fine on their side. I'll probably look into changing the modems, but when i use other laptops in my house there is no drop or slow internet speed. Just the msi laptop that im using.

I did had Norton 360 on, which ive since uninstalled, the problem still persisted. I've also disabled as well as deleted the killer network manager to no avail as the problem is still there. I have to add that since ive deleted the KNM a few days back and ONLY using the bare drivers, there are slight improvements, but the connection still drops but less frequently.

Just thought id share some suggestions just incase other users are experiencing this problem.

It's such a shame, the GT70 2PC is a beast of a laptop but riddled with alot of bugs and shits. Win 8.1 sucks.

hi guys, would love to hear your opinion and advice here.

got myself a gt70 few months back..only last 3 weeks i connect the laptop to my avr onkyo 608 receiver to get better sounding through hdmi when playing games and watching movies.

the problem that i got is the fan will go to overdrive mode whenever hdmi is connected. the fan will revert back to normal once the graphic is switched to the onboard intel graphic. as i checked, the are no part on the laptop was overheating..it is just the fan kicking to overdrive mode...any of u guys got this issue? anyway to remedy?

i tried reinstalling both onboard and nvidia drivers, still the issue remain..hope anybody can advice..thanks

The fan noisy like mad..only thing the lappy is cool..did not use msi dragon gaming center..perhaps later i will install and update here
