My sticker is not on the place where you open, but on the back cover itself, there is no way to damage the sticker if i were to open the back plate.
*
Then you are lucky, if I were to open, I need to avoid sticker being teared apart on that opening.

I bought the basic one, i-7 4700 + GTX780M at RM7199 (cash)  smile.gif i love the red paint with dragon on my laptop back panel.
*
I see, red paint one is quite good, not easily get dust on top of it, is that so?

I had the chance for limited edition of GTX770M, that was after one week after I bought normal edition.

we had discussed this much earlier before and also, MSI MY has this answered earlier.

if one msi lappy user tempered the sticker due to the factor of:
1. Add ram/
2. Add harddisk/ssd

the warranty won't void.

But if you tempered the sticker and did nothing, or to clean the hsf.. then all the best liao  sweat.gif
*
Thanks for clarification, so we MSI users can upgrade ourself freely, just the sticker very leceh on back cover.

Then why not just make it policy that changing the RAM, adding your own mSATA drive, or changing the hard drive are not warranty-voiding actions?  These are the most common changes that are done by notebook users.  With very few exceptions like the GS series, it's not like we're completely dismantling the notebook to access those components.

Of course, we would understand if the warranty is voided if someone screwed up when changing those components and fried their motherboard or bent a socket pin, but denying warranty for valid defects or problems just because a harmless upgrade was carried out is pretty unfair.
*
Well said man~

Pls add 2013 and 2014 GT series as exception also in upgrading ram, bcs of extra copper pipe that in slope position and the ram slot is exactly on its bottom. So, I think GT users may need to dissamble the heat sink to successfully put the new ram into slot.....

Which should i get?
GS70-2PC OR GE70-2PE.. my budget is around Rm4500 actually, but the reseller kept ask me to get the GS70-2PC at price of Rm5400, and i seriously dunno whats the different of it..Im just using the lappy to enjoy playing crysis3, warfare, LOL, dota 2 and some multimedia enjoy...

Does KILLER doubleshot will really effected my gaming at LOL/dota2? Or bigfoot killer is more than enough for me..? Any else advantage of GS70-2PC..
*
GS70 2PC: light, dual fan, GTX860M, advantage against GE70 is better cooling due to dual fan although slimmer chassis.

By the way, if you want to play Crysis 3 and want everything high settings, you better opt for GTX870M or GTX880M. Bcs Crysis 3 is GPU killer, GTX860M can play but need to lower down some settings to ensure at least 30fps.

Weight is not a problem for me, the graphic so far is ok for me at crysis 3 now.. So means that i not really into high setting of crysis 3, So just the cooling system is the only advantage for GS70? sweat.gif ..sry if i ask alot, cos im fresh graduate.. an extra 1k cost a bomb for me if just for the cooling system..
*
Not just cooling, some extra feature is Killer double shot (I am not sure its advantage), for the screen, I am not sure any advantage of GS70 against GE70.

Ar, forget to tell you one thing, GTX860M on GS series may be still Kepler version, so far only GE series is Maxwell version. Advantage of Maxwell against Kepler is efficiency and power saving (less heat dissipitate but performance improves).

Actually, for both GS70 and GE70, they are slim when compared to GT series, so when you play games for hours, you will feel the warm/hot on palm rest and keyboard area.

When come to cooling, I think GS70 should be better due to dual fan provided similar thickness of chassis. But when you want to choose GS70, why not just add <RM500 go to GT60/70, definitely a monster level for gaming and you dont need to worry about cooling anymore, only the weight (~5kg total).

Since you are fresh graduate, that means you are about starting to work, so I suggest you purchase laptop when you have steady savings first, bcs buying gaming laptop is quite costly. I bought my GT70 after I had enough savings first. However, if your family sponsor the purchase, then go for GE70, good price/cost ratio, just need to take good care of in cooling.

Hey guys, just wondering before I pick a laptop, how does the GS60 Ghost with either the 860M or 870M handles heat?
*
Both 860M and 870M on GS60/70 are Kepler, so you will feel warm if long hours gaming. May be temperature of CPU and GPU close to 90C for some heavy games and the performance slow down (auto cooler boost kick in, probably CPU and GPU throttle to protect hardware damage)

Hello everyone,

Just want to ask if disabling the Integrated GPU device manager would cause a problem or not. I don't really use battery just with the AC plugged in.

(MSI GT70 20D Dragon Edition 2, i-7 4700M + discrete nvidia GTX780M)

Thanks in advance~
*
You mean you go to Device Manager to disable Intel GPU? Then you will get error and restart bcs it is main driver for display. What you can do is in Nvidia Control Panel, choose high-performance Nvidia processor as default driver instead of auto-switch (red power light always instead of switching between white and red)

I see. Thanks for the fast reply. I just wondering if it was possible or not. Because on my Lenovo y510p, I can disable the intel gpu and enable the nvidia gt750m SLI. Luckily I didn't disable it just now.  sweat.gif
Also with this nvidia gtx780m, I couldn't find option to change the size of the display in the Nvidia Control Panel to change the games to run in full screen (my lenovo y510p have this option in it).
*
Display size for games I think you need to do in that games options. I am not so sure for SLI driver, if you want to play full screen for every games, usually I do in the games options. I hope this can help you.

Thanks for your answer. Btw, not all games have a "enable full screen" features but usually they have it especially latest game. Also there is another thing, is it normal that I'm getting a score 5.0 for my display and 6.9 for my Gaming Graphic in Windows Experience Index (WEI)  sweat.gif Cause my Lenovo score 7.6 on both Display and Gaming Graphic in WEI.
*
Haha, I am even lower score than you~ 4.8!!

I think it depends on dual ram and above, my GT70 is single ram, that is why I have lower score, if you are dual ram (e.g. 16GB ram) then most problably you will get 7.X score.

Any GE60 users experiencing Wifi drops? I checked power management and wifi adapter settings, it should not be sleeping, but everytime I return from a long AFK (probably ate dinner or went out  a bit), I get connection drops.

Possible also from my router or Windows 8 Intel Driver issue but I just like to ask if any of you experienced this as well.

Thanks!
*
Is it using Intel wifi card? Do you try driver from intel website?

may be you try to add another ram to your GT70, then score should be increased, by the way, the WEI is not that important, even it will not affect gaming experience.

Yup. It's true. I can play a lot of my fav games at highest setting. The FPS also very impressing and the best thing is this GTX780M support Shadow Play. thumbup.gif
WEI is just a windows index not really good for bench marking (but the score is very annoying). Hahaha. I would like to upgrade my laptop with mSATA 1TB SSD (maybe samsunng 840) but the price is.. mm.. overpriced I think.  sweat.gif Hahaha. But the seller recommend me to buy samsung 2.5 SSD instead of buying the mSATA.
*
If you want to use msata, you must have the docking slot that can support 3 slots of msata. I think your model has it, my model doesnt has it.

QUOTE(herpmerpderp @ Apr 15 2014, 04:20 PM)
Pity, I thought the 860M was Maxwell and the 870M a rebadge of a slightly tweaked 780/770, still worth a thought though. Thanks.
*
It still worth, but the price quite high, for that price, I will go for GT60/70, no cooling problem, almost no heat problem, maintainence friendly. But if portable use is your priority, then go for GS60/70. Otherwise, you need to carry ~5kg to go here and there.

killer n1202 and 7260 doesn't has great difference, they are both dual band.
nope, GS60 2PC GTX860M is maxwell based GTX860M.

GE70 has much better cooling capability than the GE60.
*
okay, thanks for info, can you show the GPU-Z snapshot of our Malaysia local GS60 2PC?

Bcs I came across China stock and Gentech PC stock review, both also Kepler (1152 shaders/128bit)?

Our Malaysia stock is usually made in China, so there is high possibility that GS60 is still based on Kepler.

i am currently not in Malaysia, so i CANT power up a unit and take GPU-Z. My information is base on the information from MSI.

Since you are at local, why don't do us a favor to clear out the doubt?

90% of the laptops are made in China...
*
the problem is I dont even see a GS60 display model yet.

And you are authorized seller, seller has 1st hand info than customer smile.gif

naa, not in holiday.

btw MSI replied ady so it's confirm Kepler  drool.gif

Now that makes sense, but Maxwell GTX860M is preferred as performance/power consumption is better compared to Kepler GTX860M.

QUOTE(Neomax3 @ Apr 16 2014, 10:26 AM)
Maxwell only gain about 10% of Kepler's performance  wink.gif

I read this yesterday, actually, GTX770M is not only better by 3% compared to kepler 860M, bcs some games benchmarks are based on mixed drivers or even older driver. Notebookcheck should compare based on latest drivers, drivers play a great factor in benchmark, and GTX765M may be in reality only down by 10%~20% compared to kepler gtx860M.

Nevertheless, next driver version will be better and fully optimize for maxwell.

My other devices connected to wifi will disconnected as well. But when I turn off my GE70 wifi all back to normal. Hmmm  rclxub.gif
*
Is your GE70 2PE using Intel Wlan driver? You try to use the driver from Intel website, not the one from MSI website.

What is your driver version? The latest should be 335.23 based on nvidia Experience on my GTX770M. Are you using beta driver? If yes, then switch back to the one in your DVD
