QUOTE(shin2l @ Mar 20 2014, 12:29 PM) I think is okay, imagine 2013 the lowest price model equipped with 770M is Illegear RS-15 Lite with RM4999. Now you can have a on par 770M performance with RM4299 of new GE60/70. Just you need to sacrifice a bit in cooling performance. Overall, 860M is worth to go. just wondering whats the different between the kelper 860m and maxwell 860m |

ran unigine heaven 4.0, max temp are 80c
![]() tested with prime95 5 mins, 90c on the torture test Closing thoughts- Beautiful!! laptop with superb cooling, even with 90c cpu or 80c gpu, l don feel HOT at all, as the laptop surface are really wide and the MSI cooler boost button, the heat air being dispense really quick, l must say, l feel really WAW! after the prime95 ran 5 mins, forgot to turn off resulted torturing more than 15 mins, l didnt even notice, heat, throttle, until l suddenly stoped the prime 95, computer freezes, will need to do force reboot l will give 10 out of 10 on MSI laptops *Updates tried some minor OC on the 860m, wooping easy to get extra 80mhz, cant imagine what high end maxwell could do ![]() as far as l concern, laptop GPU would kill themself 1st before even throttle, no guts to continue push the GPU This post has been edited by ReverseDark: Mar 28 2014, 04:41 PM |

QUOTE(shin2l @ Mar 28 2014, 04:19 PM) Great man!! Is it you achieve those T with coolerboost on? If I am not mistaken, 860M has a high clock of 1000+mhz, cant push anymore. Yes, by using the cooler boost, it is somewhat put the fan speed to 100%, even on 5500 rpm, it is still very quiet Gotta reupload the screenshots, never realize its so small QUOTE(StarXing @ Mar 28 2014, 04:22 PM) Awaiting ur gs70!! QUOTE(shin2l @ Mar 28 2014, 04:55 PM) I see, in that case it is not good in cooling, bcs you have your CPU hitting 90C while GPU hitting 80C in coolerboost kick in. However, considering its price and market position, you can only accept it, just need to make sure you have enough ventilation when you want to heavy gaming. heaven 4.0 does not stress the cpu, the 90c of cpu are on prime95 I mention before that 2013 GE series have 3 copper pipes compared to 2014 GE series with 2 copper pipes. So, take good care of your new GE70. well in fact cooling seems quite good to me, maybe higher end models even cooler!? according to my previous laptop experience, all of it are egg boiling style |

QUOTE(shin2l @ Mar 28 2014, 07:14 PM) Yes, that is why GT is RM1500 more expensive than GE due to larger form factor, larger fan, extra copper heat sink, socketed CPU&GPU. That is okay, I have experience with my old DELL studio 1555 before, open torchlight 2, 5 minutes later power shutdown. GT can even not turn on coolerboost and play games for hours in my experience with NFS: Rivals. However, it is still laptop, may be need to do thermal paste yearly if gaming frequently. IMO with the price of GT l could build a really decent gaming system l had only on the coolerboost on benchmarks, gaming don need to, regarding the thermal paste, MSI don use high quality paste issit? |

QUOTE(Artic Monkeys @ Apr 1 2014, 11:10 PM) Hey I'm thinking of getting that MSI GP60 I don think laptop can go ultra gaming, even on 860m battlefield 4 ultra lm getting like 30 fps only? High setting gaming l would recommend at least ge60 on gtx850m, if you are on a budget buy l suggest you go for lenovo y50 later onBut how does it handles gaming? I mean I looked at Lenovo Y410P and it does serious heavy gaming, BF4 & Tomb Raider on Ultra no problem If it does the same as Lenovo, I will totally going to get it. Need some opinions here |

QUOTE(Artic Monkeys @ Apr 2 2014, 06:37 PM) Well I'm not to excited on going ultra anyway. For me at a laptop that can do gaming with high setting is enough. Ultra is just a bonus just to let you know laptop are not really that capable on ultra gaming But I read somewhere that GE60 gets really hot when gaming |
