I got Gskill DDR500 2 x 1024MB, just test it out and found out the speed is not very desired. I set 3-4-4-8 in the bios, others all use auto modes. Supprisely to know that, I cant use 166MHz deviation at all, even i set 300MHz HTT, 3x LTD, 2.6v vdimm & v1.55 chipset voltage then the PC will hang there when POST.

The only choice i can use is 183MHz deviation @ 261MHz, 290MHz HTT, 3x LTD, 2.6v vdimm & v1.55 chipset voltage. With these setting, i can log into the windows and played the dota without any problem, but failed to prime for no more than 5 minutes! Beyond of 290MHz HTT will cause PC unstable to run the games or even log on the windows.

So what is the problem? Before that Iam using 384MB PC2100, i manage to go at 320MHz HTT with 100MHz deviation, and even can stably to prime it. But what now? Better RAM yet cause me cant to go higher HTT.

My cpu is sempron 2800+
motherboard: MSI K8N Neo3 (modded)

what is MAL and RP? i cant find it through the manual...

and why i want to change the value in A64 tweaker, then the PC crashed... normal or not? Anyway, please kindly enlighten me... i will be back again on next wednesday as having a vacation...

Max Async Latency. Most RAM needs 7ns+ to perform well. So as Read preamble....try 6.0ns

well, hard to explain. mebe others can guide u there. for me, im OC'ing in BIOS environment onli, havent use tweaker etc..

here mine, assuming HZ is a UCCC


p/s: the only thing u cant/unadvisable to change in windows environment are CAS/Tcl, 2T timing, and Controller mode

oh, dont expect em to go ddr600 easily

put default timing first la.. 3-5-5-10..

walao wehh.. tat timming super loose d. worth to OC using tat kinda timming arr??

its not about worth or not..
its about checking it as is it stable at rated speed, or RMA it goes
the OP didnt even mention if its tested and pass at rated speed with prime/memtest/etc

just got my 2gb kit gskill HZseries from king's bulk. wonder how it goes. currently primming at 290HTT, using divider of 5:6, timming 3-4-4-8, CPC 1T at 2.7vdimm while my 146 at 1.42vcore. hope can pass this PI calc. 32mb..

ps : juzz realize this HZseries timming was 3-5-5-10@ DDR500

hmm....well, he is using 2 sticks on a single channel mobo..of course it cant clock well if compared to the dual channel mobos...single channel works best with 1 stick of rams...

huuuaaa!! cant get any higher here. current max 285HTT@ DDR475
still can boot at 300HTT@ DDR500 but kinda failed all test at any setting. even pumped the vcore & vdimm. mebe need more tweakin' in the memory setup.. haizzz

Dude, that SPD tab is not meant for user to see. It is meant for the motherboard. If the SPD-tab is 3-4-4-8, the motherboard will recognise it as 3-3-3-6 when you set everything to AUTO. The correct timing is labelled on your stick itself.
