MY is not officially supported for FF14

This one is usually caused by an auto-flag from the 3rd party system SE uses to detect fraud. Sometimes it's ISP (which depends on your Telco company), sometimes it's flagged card, sometimes it's VPN causing issues etc.

Usually if contact customer service they'll tell you to wait 24 hours and try again. If you try too many times during that 24 hour period you risk a ban.

Alternatively, you can try to register your SE account using your phone, phone has higher chances of succeeding.

Note that EU account these is damn hard to register unless you have an EU based IP address, like asking a friend in EU to register for you. Not sure if VPN will work. In Malaysia these days only way to register is to mark as Singapore address and use NA client (USD currency).

I literally couldn't even register for trial acc (got the installer from my younger brother).

Then I got the i5201 error, so I was like fk it and I went ahead and bought the base game + endwalker expansion + 2 months subscription card

After I got my game code, I got the same err again, so bs and got me hyped and spent money for nothing lol.

Earlier I went to fill up the i5201 error form and clarified I'm from Malaysia and gave my ISP details etc, gave my reasons cos they asked why I registered in EU (kinda weird, cos they should know many ppl in MY register under EU as well and that there's no SEA website obviously).

So right now they updated my case, just pending the outcome if they will whitelist me or provide another solution.

Hopefully they can give me special case and park under some kind of 'other' or 'sea' region internally in their database.
Then I can play during CNY, very syok if like that, especially in the new Oceanic server (which should have better ping) that released today,

This is a case of "close one eye" on SE's part because technically we're not supported regionally because of local laws on distribution.

there's no such thing as "special case", legally they aren't supposed to let you register if you're not one of the supported countries, so good luck

most likely you'd get refunded and have to buy NA version + register account in Singapore if you want to avoid isp block

since late last year, new accounts from MY very hard to sign on for EU, forced to sign using NA instead

so why this guide still recommend the EU ver if its going to end up this way?

This thread on LYN is super outdated and not updated (last updated 2020). I don't think many long time players on this forum realised that they've changed the EU restrictions and it's tighter now, which was only in late 2021.

I'd recommend to ask for refund and then buy the NA version instead, if you still want to play.

Its ok, I found a workaround and ended up being able to play last night.
But I had to create a new acc and use mobile data to bypass it

Looking for a server that has decent amount of dedicated/active players who do end-game raids and stuff

I cannot comment on which server population has strong raid scene now, unker got too many RL work, retired from hardcore raiding last year.

my general experience even on a low population server (I'm on Atomos) is that if you make enough friends or are thick faced enough you'll eventually find enough connections/randoms to raid with. FF14's raids are choreographed to the second which makes them very PUGable, you can easily open Party Finder to do Savage, especially as you can form parties with people from the entire data centre (read: functionally you can access to 7+ servers' combined population). It's mostly a question of ping (like if you choose NA/EU data center your ping will suffer) and language barrier (JP data centers obviously will have more JP-only speakers).

Since OCE is now open, maybe you can try join OCE servers. Ping shouldn't be too bad and quite a strong raiding scene with AU/NZ peeps, and since most speak in English it's easier to communicate.
