my native messaging works fine for me recently, received fb msg instantly on my desktop and phone.  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

Native messaging aka the integrated chat?

It works most of the time but every time whenever I'm on my desktop/laptop even though I'm chatting on the browser the phone still rings every message, sometimes even delayed message hence I turn it off whenever I'm in front of the computer. (Chat status: Offline)

---

Demo sets on the Nokia store which they love to turn it on 24/7, suffer from yellow LCD tint, thought it was just the color profile problem but no! Even the LCD profile turns to COOL, the LCD screen still suffers from yellow tint, better flip your phone on the table while charging. sweat.gif

This is what i meant earlier on my Lumia 1020.

My photo will have color faded off after taken and review. It seems like the quality dropped down.

This is what I faced right now : http://forums.wpcentral.com/nokia-lumia-92...ber-update.html
*
Let's keep it at 920's thread instead of 1020 okay?

Most likely it's because the aggressive "noise cancellation" by the camera.

The noise will be visible if you're using a higher ISO settings hence if you want some better shots you ought to stay above ISO800 for optimum color reproduction.

above or below 800?
*
ISO800<

it's not a sure fix for the yellow dark shadows, it just minimise the noise production hence the software won't go aggressive while retraining the quality. Best hold your phone like a steel or get a tripod.

it might be recently is too cloudy or rainy days then the GPS is getting difficulty to lock on. I encountered this issue few times before when is too cloudy. And the GPS will be harder to lock on if you are moving in a car.
Also to said that actually the GPS reception for our 920 is not that strong comparing with previous Nokia flagship.
*
It's every weak on my end, still figuring how to fix it.

I have to wind down the window to get proper GPS lock but when the car moved too fast the signal will be lost.

Some times, the GPS will lost tracking when I'm about to reach the destination. sad.gif

as I know some metallic base tint film such as Vkool might disrupt GPS reception
*
Yes, most of the smartphone GPS out there has this problem with VKOOL tint which is why some car accessories shop sell tint that won't affect GPS.

Usually on my previous smartphones (Lumia 900 & hTC One X), I usually wind down the window to get a lock, after that wind up back, not a problem.

But you wouldn't want to setup your GPS while you drive gua? Please don't do that. icon_question.gif

QUOTE(jason_tee @ Oct 4 2013, 03:11 PM)
Well, this is my first time encounter such issue after using it since launch till now. If you check nokia support forum, many people complain on this also.

It is bright sky with no tall building surround me, but still I'm not able to get a gps signal.

Those who get gps works fine, try download an app named gps info, it will tells whether you are using A-GPS from GSM or what. Mine keep getting that, and always low accuracy...
*
Further reading on "that" thread (assuming we're on the same thread on Nokia support forum) suggests that there's an app call GPS Satellite will solve the problem, try it?

Still in office, will try later after work.

i only have gps issues during rain
*
LOL YES, cloudy/shitty storms usually won't get gps signal lah.

Today I launched the GPS satellite app and once it located a gps signal, i went back to home to launch the drive immediately, it locks on quickly and now, enjoy the battery drain! laugh.gif

There will be a new launch of hardware from Nokia around November where new hardwares will be bundled with Bittersweet Shimmer+GDR3, however, existing Lumias will get their love later this year(should be around December or late November.)

*
Do consider about WP8.1 instead. That, is the new hardware that you're looking for. laugh.gif

mine is 1st batch

1st batch when playing game ..near camera module there will very hot (but not until explode la ..still using it)

so far no issue on it ..just that time windows phone 8 aren't stable at all (using initial ROM) ..even u hard reset your device will brick your phone

now consider very stable already (compared to our 1st batch)
*
I'm going to hard reset my phone later (keys method, not software).

The photo duplications kind of annoys me until Skydrive told me to expand my capacity, yes hit 7GB mark already. doh.gif Running out of place on the phone too. doh.gif

So far, the GPS lock is very fast.

Btw, I managed to, *ahem* scratch the screen of my 920. It slipped off a drawer and onto a bed of stones. The screen protector was torn.
*
Naked 920 here, came out from the car, the phone slips out of my pocket and landed on the road. Suffered heavy dent on the top left with sim card tray and some sharp rock managed to cut a tiny hole on the naked screen. sweat.gif

Phone still works great. Perhaps get a new color housing when the warranty finish.

About the GPS, I have a VKOOL tint on my car hence it won't lock on GPS unless I wind down the window together with a clear sky, the GPS locks instantly.

btw, anyone here got screen 'hiccups' before? Like 3/4 screen won't display (black) properly after unlock?

my 508 vkool elite kena block ...when i open nokia drive inside car .. i can't get my current position

but once u grabbed the signal ..u can run it smoothly

so last time when i travel ..i wind down my car windows

then wait until my nokia drive grabbed signal ..then baru wind up my windows  sweat.gif
*
Don't speed on the cloudy day because the lock will be "release" eventually.

I probably give up on the gps already because of the poor signal, what you can do it familiarise yourself with the route before driving.

The GPS would go into a halt when you're about to turn into different junctions, happens many times ler.

Yes, I also secure a lock first before entering the car. laugh.gif

Same! A tiny hole on my screen.
the first day i got the phone, it was plugged in almost the entire time. Then, the screen was basically flickering, the entire screen and there seemed to be double images of things that were onscreen. Turned on and off a couple of times and unplugged the charger, the issue stopped. For good i hope.
*
Mine is oversaturated. sweat.gif

How about apps that run on the background?

People from the WPCentral mentioned you have to disable the apps that use location to get better signal service.

Else, it could be different "grade" of tint.

Why don't they just create a "toggle tile"? Which allows you to turn on/off the settings on the tile without even going into the settings.
