Bro one more thing if u connect astro HDMI with audio settings on 5.1 direct to tv does it play 5.1 sound too or does it go mute cos I read in an outside forum it can play 5.1 hmm.gif
*
Nope. panasonic TV does not have 5.1 speaker system, it will not play 5.1. You can play 5.1 if your use the ARC hdmi and return it to your amplifier or 5.1 sound system

Thanks for the update! Well pricing does vary from place to place, but in any event its a good buy for a 65 tongue.gif
*
Yup, price do vary from place to place. But generally, big town is usually cheaper, for example, KL and Penang.
Another factor is payment method. If you pay by cash, they can discount another 5%, if credit card, the normal price and if installment plan, maybe they charged slightly more expensive.
Cash is always king!!

If st60 feed with multi pcm or 5.1 and above hd audio, it will go mute. Strangely a tv of this class does not have decoder to convert the audio into stereo. Another cost cutting I presume.
*
Oh really. Never try this before. hmm.gif
So from my bluray player if I select 7.1 and output hdmi directly to TV, there will be no sound?

Are you referring to the same tv model?
*
If I'm not wrong, the extended warranty usually cost 10% of the TV price.
But buy from Panasonic better, the senq one, you need to maintain your senq membership yearly, else might forfeit

I spoke with Panasonic Customer Care, for 60ST60K, they said only give 1 yr warranty, and extended warranty 1yr is RM400, 2yr is RM490, 3yr is RM950.

Hmm, I guess they expect the TV to give problems after 4 years...

Seng Heng 2 yr warranty, and 3 yr extended is RM739. Price better. Dunno about service  sweat.gif

Anyway haven't decided, but I leave the info here in case anyone interested.
*
This is strange, currently the standard warranty period should be 2 years.
The extended warranty is 2+1, 2+2 or 2+3.
If I still remember correctly, MY 65ST60k 3 years extended warranty cost RM880. How come 60ST60 extended warranty so expensive rclxub.gif

Ya lo huh.gif

This info from Panasonic Customer Care. I also thought it sounds weird coz Seng Heng mentioned clearly 2 years warranty. But the lady on the phone said Panasonic offer only 1 year.

I checked the website but without the serial number I can't seem to find quotation for extended warranty. Aiyo Panasonic, like this how to stay in business?!

EDIT: The customer care page says "Standard Warranty: 12 months, Additional Warranty: 12 months, Extended Warranty: Eligible"
Still no price and lagi confused...  sad.gif

Oh... I think you will have better luck directly visit those pana shop. I get the brochure from them... in there clearly state the terms and condition + price. cool2.gif

I remember a forumer said that he can get around RM6k++ in KL but he never mention shop nor area... so I'm not too sure how real is the deal whistling.gif

Thanks for your advise, but for 5" extra cost >RM 1,500 is it worth it?
If can get 65ST60K for <RM 7k sure I'll upgrade the size... hmm.gif
*
Haha... good question, I post this question too last time when I have yet to decide to get 60 or 65 and one of the forumer here provide good answer (justification)

The 5 inch may be insignificant as it is measure diagonally but if we put it into 2D size
60" = 29.4 (H) x 52.3 (W)..........1537.6 (sq.in.)
65" = 31.9 (H) x 56.7 (W)..........1808.7 (sq.in.)
This will be an increase of around 17% So is the price of 65' inch about 17% more than 60'.
If you do the math... you will find the ration about there tongue.gif

QUOTE(lchee @ Oct 31 2013, 12:19 PM)
Tried looking for it but could not find one.  ANyone here can paste a link for the calibration of ST50k at a slightly lit room.  My living room has window pane and it's bright in the day.  Drawing the curtains would help make the living room dimmer, but prefer a slightly lit room calibration.  So does that mean the US sets has more versatility in calibration compared to malaysia/uk sets?
Have to find very hard for it but it's possible to still find it.  Took me 2 days, lots of road trips.  Eventually got a display unit at jusco bandar baru klang.  Went to the service menu and it has been on for almost 3000 hours, set still look great and the condition seems better than the display set which i saw at 1U a day earlier.  Price was 3799 with 40% discount.  So got it for almost RM2300.  So far quite happy with it, just wanna see if I can get it calibrated for better picture quality.  For those of you who still want it, there is a brand new set at Permas Jaya, Jusco.  Another display set at TBM bangsar (42").  What I did for 2 days to find it is to visit all major electrical shop (seng heng, senq, giant, carrefour, jusco, tesco, hsl, d'legend, desa home, tbm, kawan ku, harvey norma, best denki) and tell them to go into their system to check stock if availlable at other outlets.  So taht saves me some time.  Jusco told me 4 outlets still have stock, Maluri, cheras selatan, bandar baru klang and permas jaya.  I visited first 2 no more stock, found mine at klang.

Just under RM2.7k NIB. Confirmed power on hours it is new.
I paid just under RM1350 for the display unit. Everything complete except without box.

That's a steal dude... rclxms.gif
As long as there are no image retention, plasma with some hours clocked in gives better image.

Sometimes it is not the price.  You might be hit hard when you want to buy, there is no more units left even you have the money.

really? just increased resolution which your eye may or may not resolve depending on distance. almost no 4k content at the moment.  hmm.gif

Future proof mah... we know that 4k is coming... if the price is the same, I cannot find why not to take 4k... the only difference will be one is plasma LED. I love plasma... but I have to admit that LED nowadays is gaining...
