Once home finance minister approved, I was too excited to rush back to the shop without bringing along my cheque book!
There were few questions to clarify: -
1) Is it a display set only?
2) Does it cover delivery & installation charges?
3) How long is the warranty period?
4) How much does extended warranty cost?
Back to the shop & talked to the manager directly this time. Confirmed the deal is on a brand new set in a box with free delivery & installation. Total 4 3D glasses & 1 pen. Warranty is 2 years from Panasonic. 3 years extension from Suria costs RM950. To sweeten the deal, the manager agreed to give me a wireless keyboard and a 4GB thumb drive.
In previous posts, someone said we have an option to buy extended warranty from Panasonic online upon registration. With this info in mind, I passed on the extended warranty offer from Suria.
Now, everything was set except I didn't have my cheque book with me....!
Negotiation continued then...! I requested to pay deposit by credit card & balance to be paid with a cheque on delivery. At first, the manager counter-offered me to pay deposit by credit card & a balance cheque next week. Then, I asked him: - if I settle full payment by next week and only take delivery in Jan 2014. Who should I go after if they close shop? The manager reluctantly agreed with me!
For some reason, the shop manager was eager to close the deal. At this point, everything is sorted out. I gave them my credit card and the deal was closed.
Now, I need to patiently wait for my new home to be ready before CNY...

If it is me, I will pay up and take the tv immediately.
Maybe by the next few days if he can sell the tv at higher price, he might just sell it and take the money first, and refund your deposit.
I am not going to take the gamble when this model is no more in production, limited units available throughout Malaysia and die hard fans are hunting for it.
