Sorry if this already said in this forum but may I know what is so special about M41 compared to other *41 positions? I only see M41 position is being discussed more compared to other *41 positions. The pay and benefits seems comparable with other *41 positions based on SPA website. Can someone explain what am I missing here?

QUOTE(deepan84 @ Oct 12 2017, 06:46 PM) Cadetship allowance = gaji basic (plus minus). They provide it to cover ur living cost la during ur training. PTDs could be posted to any ministry. This scheme also have higher/faster chance to get promoted. That's what i heard. |

QUOTE(deepan84 @ Oct 11 2017, 10:18 PM) U working for gov? Pls check your facts first la. I work with gomen statutory body (starting salary is RM2,200)No matter what your salary in private, once u come in as a 41, u start from minimum unless u have masters or phd. Many enter gov sacrificing their high pay coz wanna serve the country. Many also rejected gov offers because of their current commitments far exceeding the offered salary. PTD m41 base salary is 2400+900 = 3300 Add 225 for subsequent years till naik pangkat to 44. So logically you’ll hit about 5k after 5yrs or service excluding any revision in salary scale. Cycle continues as u get promoted. I hope my post clears all the misconception by some forumers. Gred N41, with my 4 years experience is RM2700 + COLA 300 + Elaun Tetap Kerajaan 300 + Insentif Wilayah 300 As a start, I manage to get gross 3600. After revising certain allowance because I came from east, total allowance is RM1200 (increase from RM900). And PTD starting salary is RM2,500. So basically, Yes u can get RM4,000 easily if you possess certain amount of experience in industry before |

Sorry to ask, any idea how to be a part of PTD. Last 2 year, I'm at 2nd stage, exam but failed. Last year, I did't renew my SPA, maybe that's why
So, I guess, there will be an online exam around this month or next month. Did you all have any tips, what to study, or anything relate to PTD that I need to study. I'm really hoping to be a part of Government servant. Now working with industry, and its very difficult for me to buy my 1st house. Private sector if not big company, loan very difficult to approve. I'm very frustrating on how to survive day by day. Monthly commitment, pay house rent(already 30% amount from my salary, end up still not my house) others bill, car rent, eat, toll, all etc etc. Maybe I should consider to do part time business/job. Don't need to pay 1,000 if u can only manage to pay minimum rate (I suppose personal loan, credit card) - Diversify ur transport method. Uber/grab vs self drive - No cinema, no fancy food just cook urself and look for free food in any event When you have mentality of joining gov to get more loan, u better stay at current place to avoid u doing so |

QUOTE(syirbiznatch @ Oct 15 2017, 07:36 PM) First thing first, cut off unnecessary spending. Thanks for your opinion and suggestion, let me explain a little bit about my background base on your listed suggestion.- Rent room instead of house - Prioritize your debt. Don't need to pay 1,000 if u can only manage to pay minimum rate (I suppose personal loan, credit card) - Diversify ur transport method. Uber/grab vs self drive - No cinema, no fancy food just cook urself and look for free food in any event When you have mentality of joining gov to get more loan, u better stay at current place to avoid u doing so -Rent room instead of house= I already married, and my wife from Kuching. I'm from Kedah working at Selangor. We need to rent a house because of parent always come to our house, furthermore I have 2 sister in laws study here and they sometime spend their weekend here. Alhamdulillah, next year will be 3 of us, my wife now , 3 month pregnant already. I try to find the lowest house rent, currently rent Rm750/month for apartment. -Prioritize your debt. Don't need to pay 1,000 if u can only manage to pay minimum rate (I suppose personal loan, credit card)= I don't have any cc, I don't have any loan, I just pay my PTPTN, house rent, and ASB. I give money to my wife for car, toll, gas..I do the car maintenance oil service, tire change. I try as possible to cut all cost and unnecessary things. -Diversify ur transport method. Uber/grab vs self drive= I go to work by motorbike and my wife drive to work but her office just near. My home to office around 45 minute, so ride a motorbike is a best option. -No cinema, no fancy food just cook urself and look for free food in any event= Everyday, I go to work bring tapaw food. After married we rarely eat outside, we will go eat outside if our family come. I never buy new cloths after so many years, just my wife buy for me a few when Hari Raya. After married, we never go to honeymoon yet. As you can see here, I'm doing any possibilities to cut off my spending. Everyday I will reduce any cost living, this year we only go to cinema 1 times only that also because of my in-laws family come. I working at industry manufacturing at shah alam. My salary not enough with current economy to survive. If join government agencies, if I'm not able to buy house at least they provide house for government staff or maybe house allowance. Base on your story you are a caring husband and father which is enough to drive you work better. Yes the possibility of you getting the house for gov staff might be there. House allowance is not that much thou... The only way I can see is let your wife have a job too. Once you reach salary rise up to 1000+, there will be no issue to get better comfort for your family. In reality, you basically start as Grade 41 in any gov agency, regardless you have 10 years experience with private. Imagine the salary drop as well |

Imagine the salary drop as well Other people also will act like you if didn't know the full story. By the way, my wife already start worked 1 month ago, before that she do business but end up no profit at all after about 6 month last year. To keep our live here as we planned, we do all kind of things to save and keep up our saving. As people growing up, their attitude will be more mature, I myself turn out to be more responsible, I already stop playing game almost 3 years, I start to think about owning own house not so big but enough to live with my little family raise my child as I will become a father next year. That's the point when you start seriously to think about future, when in my current company it's a very impossible to take any house loan. So, I made a decision to join government to make better living. I will try my best, if any chance and rezeki it will be mine. About salary in this private company, I still below 5 years experience in this industry. So, the salary is not very different if I manage to join government. Thanks for caring with me and give opinion, hope I will have a chance to be a part of PTD's This post has been edited by Belloyat: Oct 17 2017, 11:48 AM |

That's why most candidates with many years of experience in private sector hesitate to join PTD or other goverment scheme. Experience doesn't matter for salary. What cert you have during the application matters.i was in private for a while. Been in few companies/industries. But since i applied using Degree Cert, my starting paycheck was 1993.63 back then. a very huge discount from my handsome private paycheck prior to govt. if a huge paycheck is what ya'll looking for, don't join the service. a number of my batch left the private sector but couldn't cope with the job, turned back into private companies. |
