I'm currently holding federal W41 (permanent) post and interested to join PTD "M" service. Appreciate if anyone can assist me on this. 

Wanna ask...W41 as in Akauntan, Penilaian or Juruaudit?

Anyway...Just to add...if you are already confirmed as W41 then when JPA offered PTD M41 (Kontrak) post to you they will offer it as "Penempatan Sementara" so that your previous dept will put you in "pool" for the duration of contract...(normally 2 years...3 years max i think). This is just to ensure that if for whatever reason you cannot get in or confirmed as PTD M41 (permanent) then you will always have the last resort of returning to your old position as if you never left....Cuti Belajar Tanpa Gaji as the name implies...

I think the spirit of this exercise is contained in this circular as attached...(even though PTD is not listed in Lampiran A) but the same procedure applies as well.... But if you're not confirmed in your previous post then you'd have to quit though...

hmmm....

its funny but.... 10 years ago most of the people in my generation hardly knew about the PTD scheme.

among those who went to the exam and the PAC with me, the majority (like me) got "strongly worded" suggestions from our parents to apply for the job. 

to find that it is now something a LOT of people apply for... it still strikes me as.. slightly strange, if i may say.

from talking to young hopefuls, i know that many think, once they get the job, their lives would change.

yes, it would. but not the way they expect it.

there are different pitfalls for different postings in the govt..  so I hope those who are applying will at least give some time to think about what I'm about to say.

should you get a federal post, you will be one of the young juniors - so don't lose your temper or shoot off just because you are right. you never know who will be on the other side of the call you're attending, or who you are scolding. be tactful. be diplomatic (macam nama jawatan tu la kan).

if you get a state post or a post in a smaller office - you will be one of the senior officers. so don't ever forget that you are still learning, you are new and whatever the temptation, do not misuse the power you have.

there is no need to be all cocky and arrogant. yes, you might have skills we have never seen before. yes, you might have graduated summa cum laude. BUT... padi makin berisi makin menunduk. ikutlah resam padi.

and remember that however high up you are in the service, you are still serving. so remember to do every job given as if you yourself or your family depends on it. a servant to all. not a a servant to one.

and above all, do remember, PTD is just a job. after office hours, you are still a daughter/son/husband/wife/sister/brother.

i truly hope i have offended no one with this post. its just my opinion, forgive an older kakak for being a little chatty and it also serves as a reminder to me, of course.

true dat, from the way i see it, even JPA is not championing for PTDs anymore. I strongly believe that we should maintain the elite status, as it is slowly deteriorating. Sometimes i get fed up with the way things are, if only I could do something to turn the table.

Lead a coup d'etat maybe ?
