QUOTE(prototype @ May 8 2009, 04:52 PM) i don't think it means u can't apply for gov post..just u r allowed to apply after u finish ur studies.. Added on May 20, 2009, 12:02 pm QUOTE(fizzy @ May 7 2009, 07:17 PM) i take that as a sarcastic joke..just becoz a few bad apples, all the gov gets bad name.. i hope u are applying for gov post becoz u can work hard and give ur best to the gov.. not becoz u think it is laid-back-relax-environment.. i feel frustrated becoz i work hard doing my job but ppl still see gov jobs are relaxing.. but i understand, it is only human nature as we only see the bad not the good.. i do support that the IT unit of all gov depts regulate the internet traffic.. block the sites that are not relevent to the job scope of the dept.. some dept requires full access to the net, some don't.. anyway, good luck in ur application.. QUOTE(eureka_my @ Jun 19 2009, 03:06 AM) Dear Tenno, several of our frens had the same problem.I have been called for pre-PAC on 28 June. I am currently working in private sector, and notice of job termination is 3 months. If I am successful at both Stage 2 and 3, I would have to tender resignation and serve the 3-month notice period before I will be able to join PTD. I am not sure if the date of offer letter and the reporting date will be that long (3 months). I know it's still a bit premature to ask such question (since I have not even gone tru pre-PAC yet) but I can't help but wonder about such a scenario if I really made it and got the offer. It would be such a dead end to me...getting the offer but couldn't make it for reporting as I would still have to serve the 3 month notice period. Do advise. a few of them just give 24 hour notice to their boss and say babai boss.. a few just stopped going to work (without giving any notice). they all went to PTD Unggul to start work for the gov.. from what i heard, a few were asked to pay (denda or re-imbursement) their previous employer for the 3 month period with 3 months salary. u know la, if u have 3 months notice but u stopped working in 24 hours, they ask u to pay 3 months salary right? many of them just ignore. and i haven't heard any updates from them, whether they pay or not. huhu.. nasib la, if u were asked to pay, u pay la. if u don't pay, they might saman u or drag u to court. if they just ignore u, selamat la............... i was lucky as my job termination notice was 1 week. and by that time, my boss already had someone to replace me. |

public debate?
during my time it was 'debat ala parlimen'.. so, u r in a team, either 'kerajaan' or 'pembangkang'. so there will be no stage fright la.. about the public speaking, surely 'goyang'.. u stand in front of ppl.. hehe.. but everyone has to go through that, so everyone is equal, no need to be afraid la.. |

QUOTE(takhezu @ Sep 26 2009, 11:25 PM) One more thing. It quite normal for examiner or interviewer to give more chances to their relative rather than other people... just for info there are 3 interviewer during the interview (for officers positions).they all are in high gov positions with very high ratings, not just anyone can be called to be the interviewer. so, they will be professional in their work. if one interviewer favours his/her relative, the other 2 interviewers might not. however, these things do happen. not just the gov, everywhere also got.. i was also asked to give more chance to a certain someone by their relative when i was called to interview grade 17 post. all i said was "kalau dia bagus, saya consider la.." that's it. in the end, the person is below average, got others who were better, so tak dpt la... |

QUOTE(kombenasai @ Oct 24 2009, 10:12 PM) How to apply for PTD: u are giving people the wrong info.1. apply thru SPA 2. Exam 3. Interview 4. Training (will hv lots of assessment:IQ test, english, public speaking in english n malay n lots of group task to evaluate u based on 10 criteria such as leadership qualities...make sure u come prepared during this time..must wear nice2 1 n behave all time) 5. Induksi (now 5 days?)..at the end of induksi..they will tell ur placement 6. Report duty 7. Go for 6 months DPA training Other things u need to go thru b4 can get confirmation: 8. Interview by keselamatan dlm negeri 9. Induksi training by your Ministry/Department Your salary will start from 1st day u report for Induksi training and also get full paid salary during the 6 months DPA training DPA training is tough but most exciting/memorable memory of being a PTD..you will undergo Indoor Module (classes on law, stats etc++) and outdoor Module (police, firefighters, outward bound and army training) PTD considered elite post in the gov and you can easily get promoted after few years...compared to other scheme. But if u r on contract basis, dun really hope much..u'll get lesser pay and many disadvantages.. BTW..I'm an ex-PTD who resigned early n hv to pay back 2 SPA since I dun meet their minimum service requirement upon confirmation.. Added on October 24, 2009, 10:19 pm If u r a contract..means u r a contract. I don't think there's any scheme where they absorb contract to permanent...unless they change their rule...what happen is..if u enter as a contract usually on yearly basis n will renew the contract...but have limit on how many times can renew...at the same time you have to apply for the post as Permanent post..the advantage is ur department can recommend u to SPA... a contract does not mean contract forever. PTD is contract for 2 years during which u are assess by JPA. after that, u are absorbed as a permanent officer. but if anyone is deemed not fit to be PTD (after the assessments), they won't just kick u out of the service, u will be given a year extended contract to smoothen your release. for example, JPA recently held a special assessment for a batch of contract PTD. 10% of them got low marks and will be released after a year. 90% will be permanent officer. btw, the are contract officers which are hired by certain ministries. these officers are not contract PTD. how and what procedures they use, i donoo... ps: i also don't really know the current procedure of hiring PTD becoz it's different from how i was hired. i have asked my fren in JPA but a bit susah for me to remember. actually, malas to remember..... |

QUOTE(kombenasai @ Oct 25 2009, 01:38 PM) U r right...training then interview...my mistake..sudah lupa oo ok..Added on October 25, 2009, 1:59 pm I remember my contract colleague last time got 1 year contract which got renewed on yearly basis..for 3 time..n then kick out..Hes damn good..n he never got the chance to be absorbed into permanent..He tries to apply thru normal SPA but no luck i guess N regarding the special assessment for PTD contract yes...they have this kind of scheme..but u have to apply..its not something that when u r contract u'll be automatically absorbed into permanent later on..You still have to apply for permanent post..go thru all the assessment... (90% who apply n passed abrsorbed into permanent...maybe u r true but I don't think the stats are that high) N I also have another contract colleague who apply for permanent PTD post like normal 1 n go thru all the assessment like all freshies who was nt a contract PTD So in short.....if u r a contract..u still a contract..n u hv to apply to be permanent like normal way o thru scheme by JPA (which doesnt mean u'll be guaranteed a permanent PTD) And maybe by the time I post this..all this info already outdated n now JPA or SPA hv new hiring procedure u are referring to the old PTD kontrak N41. now PTD M41 are all contract. as i mentioned earlier, some ministries still hv contract officer that will still be a contract which will be renewed yearly.. and as for the special assessment, it is not the normal assessment (PAC). PAC is before u are hired but this special assessment is held by JPA after u are hired (accepted as PTD). it's like a review of your performance during your 2 years as a PTD. this is for the newer batch of PTD. (i think starting with 1/2008 batch.. not sure) This post has been edited by NeuroOne: Oct 25 2009, 04:16 PM |

QUOTE(ghteh @ Nov 12 2009, 10:42 PM) mm..it's like this. picture yourself as an employer. then think what u want from your future employee and what's his behaviour and attitude. so, just do what you think is best and don't do what you think will jeopardise your chance.... u also can ask the facilitator the guidelines (if they have any la..) |

QUOTE(deepan84 @ Jan 14 2010, 05:26 PM) alredi reach the interview stage for PTD. like rugi if dun proceed. unless im able to change scheme to W once i enter PTD permanent, if its possible lar. u can apply to W once u enter M, u have to apply from SPA, start from beginning.but like narfey said, it was a long hard road to get ACCA, so if u think M is suitable for u, go for it. |
