Dear Tenno,

I have been called for pre-PAC on 28 June. I am currently working in private sector, and notice of job termination is 3 months.

If I am successful at both Stage 2 and 3, I would have to tender resignation and serve the 3-month notice period before I will be able to join PTD. I am not sure if the date of offer letter and the reporting date will be that long (3 months).

I know it's still a bit premature to ask such question (since I have not even gone tru pre-PAC yet) but I can't help but wonder about such a scenario if I really made it and got the offer. It would be such a dead end to me...getting the offer but couldn't make it for reporting as I would still have to serve the 3 month notice period.

Do advise.

One more thing. It quite normal for examiner or interviewer to give more chances to their relative rather than other people... just for info

How to apply  for PTD:

1. apply thru SPA
2. Exam
3. Interview
4. Training (will hv lots of assessment:IQ test, english, public speaking in english n malay n lots of group task to evaluate u based on 10 criteria such as leadership qualities...make sure u come prepared during this time..must wear nice2 1 n behave all time)
5. Induksi (now 5 days?)..at the end of induksi..they will tell ur placement
6. Report duty
7. Go for 6 months DPA training

Other things u need to go thru b4 can get confirmation:

8. Interview by keselamatan dlm negeri
9. Induksi training by your Ministry/Department

Your salary will start from 1st day u report for Induksi training and also get full paid salary during the 6 months DPA training

DPA training is tough but most exciting/memorable memory of being a PTD..you will undergo Indoor Module (classes on law, stats etc++) and outdoor Module (police, firefighters, outward bound and army training)

PTD considered elite post in the gov and you can easily get promoted after few years...compared to other scheme. But if u r on contract basis, dun really hope much..u'll get lesser pay and many disadvantages..

BTW..I'm an ex-PTD who resigned early n hv to pay back 2 SPA since I dun meet their minimum service requirement upon confirmation..

If u r a contract..means u r a contract. I don't think there's any scheme where they absorb contract to permanent...unless they change their rule...what happen is..if u enter as a contract usually on yearly basis n will renew the contract...but have limit on how many times can renew...at the same time you have to apply for the post as Permanent post..the advantage is ur department can recommend u to SPA...

I remember my contract colleague last time got 1 year contract which got renewed on yearly basis..for 3 time..n then kick out..Hes damn good..n he never got the chance to be absorbed into permanent..He tries to apply thru normal SPA but no luck i guess

N regarding the special assessment for PTD contract yes...they have this kind of scheme..but u have to apply..its not something that when u r contract u'll be automatically absorbed into permanent later on..You still have to apply for permanent post..go thru all the assessment... (90% who apply n passed abrsorbed into permanent...maybe u r true but I don't think the stats are that high)

N I also have another contract colleague who apply for permanent PTD post like normal 1 n go thru all the assessment like all freshies who was nt a contract PTD

So in short.....if u r a contract..u still a contract..n u hv to apply to be permanent like normal way o thru scheme by JPA (which doesnt mean u'll be guaranteed a permanent PTD)

And maybe by the time I post this..all this info already outdated n now JPA or SPA hv new hiring procedure 

Myself quite worry about public speaking >.<" and having many nightmare that even though i prepare well and having many ideas, when the time standing in front of a group of ppl, my head like already BLANK. ANYONE CAN HELP ME AR!!! HELP!!!

depend on ur qualification..if degree holder...means M41..around 2k till 3k plus...if master,den another grade lo...

after reading tru d PTD forum, it seems many ppl passed the PAC. lotsa competition i guess. neway d interview conducted in which language?

alredi reach the interview stage for PTD. like rugi if dun proceed. unless im able to change scheme to W once i enter PTD permanent, if its possible lar.
