Hazremi ,

I thought you already gave up for PTD tongue.gif

Btw, I managed to attend the last stage interview and failed. I'm not really depressed or dissapointed since I already hop into a semi-gov research institute which nearby your workplace ( It's not mimos lol ). The PTD interviewers really bombarded me with questions like : Why you want to become a PTD since you are very good in your field ? and etc.

Anyway, congratulations to those succeeded and attended the PTD Unggul.  smile.gif

i regret for not going to the camp bcoz i have some urgent prob that i had to sacrifice the chance to become a PTD.Although my job is good already but I still cant resist the opportunity to become a PTD,it's just so hard to refuse the chance.btw i'm now working as an engineer at astro.

i will start all over again for the PTD,go through the xm again.anybody with me? thumbup.gif

Is it still possible for me to apply for this job since i just got a job at a badan berkanun (a hospital) ? I got the job from a direct interview from the hospital (not from SPA). I already registered at spa.gov.my since the last May, but I haven't got any reply at all.

Why? lets say they wanted 200 new PTD, most probably 80% already been 'reserved'. The rest have to fight for the left 20%. That why all the bullshit no cert and such just to clear up the unwanted. Most of my friends who got through and become PTD have somebody inside to help. But they still have to pass the exam la whistling.gif

can any1 assist me on matters below?
Pls read carefully case study below:
i've passed exam, assessment,&successfully been interviewed. Then, SPA wanted to elected me for PTD M41, but they couldn't do so because of my degree is not yet recognised by JPA. SPA have no other choice but to hold my election (KIV), and JPA will conduct a meeting this 26/1 to discuss about this matter searching for resolvement. So, my question right now is..can i have enough time to reporting duty on this coming Monday 5/2/07 at INTIM Kemaman since SPA still hold my PTD result? Hope u guys can give me some idea/advice on this. Thanks.

To Hazremi:
Thanks 4 the encouragment.. =)

To eronymous:
Why we all want to join PTD?
Reasons is:
(1) If i'm not mistaken..PTD have 10 Specialization Field (10 Pengkhususan Bidang), so 1 of it suits well with my academic qualification and working experiences..so this is a place where i can contribute my effort and knowledge. Hopefully with the contribution, it will add to improve our govt service to the best..InsyaAllah.
(2) We are young malaysian with talented skills and energetic..so it is not wrong for ourselve to start building our career and serve the govt through ptd. As a malaysian citizen, we need to support our country in every ways we can..so this is one way to do it
(3) It will create a win-win situation; both to us and to the govt.

Correct me if i'm wrong. Thanks.

Well i'm more interested in the elite status of the PTD.In fact if they are so powerful that they could coup d'etat the government i wont be so hesitant in taking the test after graduation.

i second that. it's the management post of the gov (aside fr the politicians). i know those who have reached the top (Jusa) become Datuks and Tan Sris..and they all start from M41, and slowly climb up. so, i'd say go for it! rclxms.gif

so it more like a 'gosok' thingy after all those exams and interviews??? hmm.gif

reason for me seeking the answers from u guys is that i have heard so many woeful stories about PTDs... for the sake of sharing and i stress it here agaian... SHARING not FLAMING... here is one of them...

I have a very good contact with one of the top brass in one Ministry. He's a PTD... And he's very good at it i might say... So that will explain his TKSU post nowadays... I had a friendly chat with him some time ago and i did ask him bout his illustrious career; how it started, the various post it held etc... To my surprise, he was on the JPA PTD exam panel... and he came up with the questions for the PTD exams. And so i asked him bout the standards. To my understandings; the standard must be high. We're talking about producing top government management individuals... Top civil servants, policymakers and so forth... And his answer is yes.. the standard is high BUT... a big BUT there...

PTD nowadays is not like the old days... The standards are high but the applicant are not really top notch like it used to be... Sometimes the panel hv to lower down the standards to have some decent candidates coming through.... And he said there are also cliques in the PTD top brass... Once it was controlled by a 'prominent boarding school' guys... And once there were a 'state-oriented' cliques... And bcoz of this... according to this TKSU, some of the candidates were underqualified. During his time in one Ministry, he requested for a new officer 3 times. The officers he had back then can't even come-up with a decent paperwork. He also commented on JPA's current stand in more quantity than quality as a stumbling block. And this stand also explains the various 'my bapak nenek is somebody bla2' scenario...

U guys... do comment

Hi Sheila..maybe you could ask Euronymous's advice regarding PTD exam since Euronymous has a good contact with one of the top brass who likely is a PTD and used to be a JPA PTD exam panel. smile.gif However, do take note on Euronymous opinion that PTD applicant nowadays are not really top notch like it used to be. tongue.gif You need to take that as a challenge to yourself and try to do very well in the exam soon on this coming February. thumbup.gif

P/s: Euronymous is a PTD guy too brows.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

skyhigh...

i am not a PTD... am not so privileged enough... hehehe... but i do deal with the various ministries from time to time.... that 'not top notch' opinion is not mine... it's from the TKSU... one of your own... but i guess it only applies to all those who joined the service through the bapak nenek line...

sheila...

all the best... the 'seniors' here will help u out surely...

to all...

i do stress again my previous post is not to offend any of u here... by right u are there becoz all of u are qualified...
