Damn good soundtrack man....nice ensemble.

The Note 3 is a worthy successor, more than just a bigger screen and faster CPU.

Hail Note 3.

At the bottom of the phone...
No direct HDMI port is a bit disappointing especially when mobile phones these days are more than a device just to make calls. It is a piece of entertainment device and HDMI is so common nowadays...

OMG ....world's FIRST PHONE with USB3.0 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe then there will be a new MHL standard that they use, and probably better Audio out via MHL.

Guys..go and watch the hands on video from Engadget..from homescreen, slide up from the bottom and you will have a flipboard homescreen ala blinkfeed style from HTC One..

One thing that bugs me is that in homescreen, you can only place 4 icons instead of 5 hmm.gif

Screw standard launchers....Nova FTW.

BTW ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ guys and gals.

solsekuin44 did you enjoy the show???

See you all sometime in the morning.

i think at this point/year. most companies is out of innovation and design. what they can do is to enhance their OS/function/battery life/etc. (yeah, battery life is the most important thing for me. imagine note 2 with 3 days use at least on full hrs usage wub.gif )
smartphone is juz a big rectangular(?) with curve corner  tongue.gif

coldfission,Sep 5 2013, 09:20 AM
I'd say the phone industry is saturated. We hardly get any breakthrough besides pumping up the clock speed and the cores. It's just like the PC industry 8-10 years back. Once saturated, we can't expect much from the manufacturers. Unless they are launching the bendable AMOLED or maybe transparent battery or phone kind of thing. then u will feel something different. But dont go too far, let's start with bezel-less
*
Here we go again. I have explained this clearly in post 1 and also repeatedly stated this in Note 2 and Note 3 threads and even posted Adam Outler's G+. All our current devices are computers. A PC is a "computer". A smartphone and smartwatch is a "computer". They can perform most of the same functions but at different capabilities.

A Proton Suprima is a car. A Bugati Veyron is a car. 4 wheels, engine, steering wheel, seats. I didn't say that Proton will beat Bugati. Even a Tata lorry is technically a "car", but serves a different purpose.

QUOTE(benny888 @ Sep 5 2013, 10:07 AM)
I always remember this line from Disney Bambi.cartoon : if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all.

Why all the bashing. You guys think you are better n smarter than those Samsung designers?? Than go n propose to join them. Appropriate forum to vent your hate n anger is their Facebook or website forums. All your disappointment will not change anything.
No one is forcing you to buy. If you don't like the changes just stay away n don't buy it
*
Excellent advice uncle. I also remember that line from Bambi tongue.gif

Anyway, Samsung DID surprise me, and today will be busy posting up links and specs, but if we continue at the same high speed, we will hit v2 by end of this week.

Cheers.

It's not the lens that matter, it's the processor capable to shoot 4K. Snapdragon 800.
*
I believe technically it's the GPU with 4K processing built in, therefore it is the Adreno 330. I suspect the XZU has this capability in the SoC but there is some missing stuff (some hardware) that doesn't allow it to execute.

4k video shooter... everyone can be director soon anytime haha  rclxms.gif
but not sure will this feature be available here or not

other than that nothing special on Note III, just lighter and 3g ram and faster  rolleyes.gif
*
So now everybody can be their own director for all those great brows.gif brows.gif movies..... and you get 10x zoom with that Sony attachment...

QUOTE(Superman7 @ Sep 5 2013, 10:44 AM)
SD800 and 4K is the most highlighted items on the Note 3 in this thread and yet don't think anybody makes the full usage out of it laugh.gif
This time Note 3 has lesser software gimmicks (features). Unless it was not yet announce..
*
Here...the OTHER GOOD HARDWARE BITS first !!! If it can perform fast USB 3 transfers, this means they probably used some high speed eMMC, hopefully from their SSD division brows.gif

From GSMArena...

The bottom side of the phablet is quite busy - the Galaxy Note 3 is the first mobile device to feature USB 3.0 using the micro version of the port. The connection consists of two parts - one that is backwards compatible with microUSB 2.0 and one that adds additional pins for faster data transfers.

The top features another mic and the 3.5mm audio jack, plus the IR blaster that Samsung has been putting on some Galaxy devices this generation. The left side features the volume rocker and the right the power button with yet another mic.

NFC and wireless charging contacts at the sides....yeah.

And I notice the groove surrounding the entire battery cavity. Does this mean that it offers some splash resistance? This same groove and the ridge on the back cover are present in all phones with removable covers that are water proof hmm.gif hmm.gif

I said "splash resistance" ........

Anyway, I also suspect that the back "leather" is similar to the plastic used in the Note 1 which I preferred over the Note 2's. The Note 1's plastic back texture has a nice grippy feel, so they probably enhanced it for the Note 3.
