my thoughts: referee saw there's advantage to be played, so he gave it. if the advantage was played, which was in this case, Weimann having a shot towards the goal, then dont go back to the foul. if the advantage was not played, for example weimann failed to reach the ball or was dispossessed before he had a shot on goal, go back to foul. either way, if the foul warranted a yellow card the player receives it afterwards. this is usually what happens... outside the penalty box.

inside the penalty box rules usually dont apply since it's a high charged decision and the ref will be under pressure to make the right call.
