The reason there are only 200+ units of Yaris is because of the limited number of APs given to UMW by MoT.
Let's say you have X number of APs for 2006. Would you use them all up on Yaris, or would you rather retain them for Wish, RAV4 and Camry?
Also, if UMW takes up a lot of orders, can Toyota Thailand produce enough for its own local market, plus Malaysia's as well?
As for choosing a Yaris, it gives the buyer another choice if buyer is already eyeing for a car like Jazz and Swift.
If you want to purchase a car for practicality or value for money, then the above 3 cars may not be suitable for your needs.
If you're into driving sporty compact cars or want to be unique, then look no further (unless you can afford a Mini Cooper). For this niche market, buyers are expected to pay more.
