steel rim? maybe RM50-80
tyre? maybe RM150-180
absorber? kyb brand about RM150
car leg/lower arm -> RM150 ori

no idea whether RM900 is fair price as so many items/work involved. survey a bit more and see.

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Jan 16 2014, 04:11 PM)
guys, i have a question

the right front wheel hit a path hole real hard until the type puncture and stock rim spoilt. i sent to the workshop to repair and they quote about RM900 for one tyre+rim, "car leg", the bonet bend a bit and probably to fix the absorber as well. does that sound about right for this more than 10+ years car?

well the prices are just my rough estimation based on what i did before, and it's only parts not including labour....

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Jan 16 2014, 04:33 PM)
the car is already in the workshop and i am going to pick up later or tomorrow. just shocked that is not cheap just to fix the old car sad.gif

I guess RM700 is the maximum to fix all the mentioned stuff?

yep, i keep records of the parts i buy and for this i remember asking for ori and it did looked ori. it's the regular spare parts shop that i go so i think should be trustworthy.

i changed my rear wheel bearing for RM80 (one side) at shell service center. japan part it seems, but didn't take note of the brand. so far no issues.

QUOTE(Albert B @ Jan 16 2014, 09:37 PM)
I do not have info for Iswara bcos not done yet (I did for previous car long time ago, so prices not accurate). Any way I can only make some guesses : each wheel have 2 bearings, normally changed both sides, so total 4 bearings. Each bearing may be around RM30 - 50. Add in labour maybe total damage RM300 ???

Perhaps other members can help.

Attached is price that looks very cheap, not sure about it.

mine is same as this too, proton box, proton part number, proton label, and it looks and feels premium/ori part.

unless they really make fakes that looks genuine then can't say much. and also i think you'll get cheaper prices outside than proton glenmarie part center for obvious reasons... smile.gif so RM150 is reasonable i think and it's not THAT cheap (as mentioned before japanese brands cost RM250+)

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jan 17 2014, 12:25 AM)
my lower arm from proton came with a nice (rather huge too lol) packaged box btw (with it's logo and part numbers of course)

either i've paid premium for fake, or got a great deal for ori! tongue.gif

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jan 17 2014, 01:19 AM)
well thats the thing, glenmarie part center is more than 220 lerh. the price i got IS from outside stockist (although they are listed on proton's website as well)

and as i mentioned, the nissan sentra 2006 or so original japan imported lower arm with full nissan packing... is over 400 per lower arm lol. tan chong direct worse, over 500 LOL

hence my curiosity la.

For me, I will only buy from petrol stations, e.g. Shell, Petronas. Never from spare parts shop because I wouldn't know whether they are also unknowingly scammed...

I second that. Change the gear oil and see how it goes. If unsure and minimize cost, just go change standard gear oil at Shell, cheap only less than RM50 if I remember correctly.

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jan 26 2014, 01:11 PM)
Try draining out all your gear oil,  put in Lubegard manual and then top up appropriately with Chemlube/red line full synthetic gear oil of the correct api specifications /viscosity ,  see if that solves the problem smile.gif

I didn't install in car, installed in home windows. Judging from the total silence with it compared to before, I'm sure it is very very effective in blocking out noise coming from car door edges and gaps.

Go take a look at the seller's thread, I think he explained how much you need. I bought the small d, one of the cheapest I've found so far.

Did you install it on all 4 doors, hood and bonnet? How much you spent? Installed yourself?
