QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jul 20 2014, 08:59 PM) why have to keep dealing with the rear le If wanto do up the car, might as well do hou lei. Do halfway, tayar guding, car guding, engine oil guding, engine also tip top, but the rear lari in the first place anything to do with cars aren't much of an investment at all... and most financial advises will just say it is a liability (which is true anyways) |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jul 31 2014, 11:21 AM) http://twitpic.com/b7u3yk Is the machine sensor problem or the calibration¿ I look at the graph it seemed bumpy & inaccurate. why don't u bring over to my preferred dyno shop? If possible, prepare a set of different fuel jets, to let then dyno tune for u? Believe 10whp gain is not an issue oh hey dug this back up davidke20 ~13.5 AFR constant so graph was never printed out (can only pick 2 graphs to print if you're on bulk runs lol) |

I have a confession to make. Mohon apun from TS and fellow Iswara owner. This was triggered during my recent track day, after many years being silence from the motorsports event(8 years from the last attended trackday). I don't own an Iswara anymore, but ayam feeling it's an obligation to make an official announcement that ayam sorry to my ex-love, a 1996 Iswara 1.3 Sedan, which now under extreme care by C2KBAS2005
![]() I was so wrong about the car, because it was all about myself(it was always myself, but never was the car). The driver problem. Here's several facts that I always think ayam, which in reality ayam not. 1) I always told pipu, when the track is small and tight, the difference of horse power is negligible. After I lose out, I took the original carburetor away, plonk 4 toto. 2) I always told pipu, when the turn is slow and tight, steering response fast is very important. I went and inject my damper with gearoil. Lose out again, went for LSD oil. 3) Follow up with the above, after LSD oil, I still finds the car roll too much, so I blame it on the tyres. I always tell people, on a normal track day event, not require to have such expansive tyres just for the event alone. I went for YOKO AD01 pulak. 4) Follow up with the above, I always tell people thin tyre brings more joy to the car. It makes you FEEL fast, it makes you FEEL when is the edge of losing control! And my YOKO AD01 was 195/50R14(yes, back than AD01 still produce 14"). 5) I always told pipu, it's only a track day event. We're not professional racers, no sponsorship, no need to be so serious. Yet, everytime I lose out, I'll go back and mod the car, in the hope to tapau everyone when ayam back. 6) I always told pipu, for a low speed track below 100kmh average speed, most importantly is average speed. As long keep the rpm within torque range, make sure the car can pickup speed fast enough after hitting apex point, that will be enough. Yet I over rev the engine most of the corner. On a straight road even drag until way pass 8krpm redline. Still don't know what makes my car blow white smoke like DBKL sembur ubat nyamuk, until sent for overhaul. 7) I have the believe of performance equal to the amount of petrol consumed. Yet, I go and tune the carburetor to wind big oil small(风大油细-burn lean). Everytime when rpm hitting 6k, torque dip. And I blame on the engine limitation. Not forgetting petrol itself is some sort of coolant for the combustion chamber. Burning lean will result in exhaust temperature spike, bad for pistons and valves. For what? Mere 1km/litre difference. 8) I always share with friends, in any small track will just have to drive like late for work. Try to hog inner circle more, reduce understeer, increase average speed, practice late braking and tackle trail braking on hair pin curves, yet I sendiri go full toto everytime during the corner, resulting in super understeer. Then I blame the AD01 incompetent. 9) I told pipu, maintain certain exhaust backflow will help in vehicle response. After lose out some to myself, I went throw away my midbox, leave a straight flow muffler at the back making loud noise. I THINK ayam fast, but now I think the neighbor son's Satria with straight pipe very noisy and torque less. From my house toilet hear the exhaust note already know the Satria reaching my taman, and had to wait 5 minutes before hearing the exhaust note getting closer and finally takes him another 5 minutes to L parking properly at the kapak. As the Cainis old saying goes, "loud like thunder, but didn't see rain"(响雷那么大声,就是没看到下雨). 10) I always told pipu, the biggest enemy is myself. Yet everytime during track event, I went and search for the top rated driver. When figured I lose some 10seconds compare to their timing, I go blame the car useless unable to perform like others did. For the love of God, I got married. Waifu started to complaint. I started to demod the car. Part by part restore back to original spec. Engine went for a rebuilt, 4 toto sold to some lucky chap, replaced with stock carb. Damper went straight to longkang give way to a set of standard APM specs. Exhaust redo with much milder smug sounding muffler with a huge midbox to reduce noise. Thinking of too much to spend for a set of stock brakes, I leave those GSR brakes and SV4 brake servo in the engine bay. Kuasa the kar to waifu let her drive to work, I take train to work everyday. Everytime when there's rain, I'll blame on the car that never bring me luck. I blame on the car that never bring me joy. I blame on the car that does not save petrol like a Kancil. I blame everything that I don't get to enjoy like others. Pipu went to track day, win some trophy/money home, others with a big smile that they finally beat their own timing, I went and complaint to the organizer it's not fair that their car went through light weight treatment, mine doesn't. Who's stopping me? In the end ayam the 1 who whine about everything that has nothing to do with the car, but myself. I could have just admit that I'm trying to compete, so I could feel better even if I mod my car. I could have just admit that ayam lack of skill, atleast I get to improve next time around. I could have just stay back a little, ask other people opinion in my driving, instead of go mod the car blindly, money wasted on performance part yet sendiri don't know how to handle the car. Ayam grateful this time around a good friend of mine Mr.r3apers came along and helped up snap foto of my car. He share his honest feedback to my driving. For the 1st time in my life, never feel better than this track day event. I felt very peaceful even after the event, I can drive like normal and keep within speed limit along my way home(usually after track day, go to public road will still drive lika moron). I didn't really go and compare myself to the top of the range driver, instead I managed to opened my eyes seeing a lot more other cars in action, listened to their engine sound and smell their exhaust fume. How many of you been able to enjoy the fun part of, smelling exhaust fume to guess whether the car is burning rich/lean/stoich? Back to Iswara, ayam feeling a little empty and lost. I have never admitted I wanted to win. I have never admitted it's me who lose. I have never really enjoy the car/the race, all I wanted is MYSELF. When I lose it, I trash the car. Suddenly reminds me of Steven Chow's famous quote in 1 of his show:「曾經,有一架好好搾嘅車泊係我屋企面前,但我無好好咁去珍惜,等到賣咗嘅時候先至後悔莫及,人世間最痛苦嘅事情莫過於此。如果上天能夠畀我一個重新嚟過嘅機會,我會同嗰架車講三個字:『好能快』。如果係都要喺呢個米錶加上一個速限,我希望係,頂錶二百六十。」 It translate as "I had my best car, but i didn't treasure it. When i sold it. I regret. It is the most painful thing in this world. If God can give me another chance, I will say "You're fuckin fast" to the car ! If there is a speed limit, I hope, it will only red line at 260". Beloved Iswara, you'll be dearly missed. ![]() |
