Get the digital as it will automatically adjust instead of those manual you need to check it every day or so to ensure you don't make it too dry.

To be honest, i'm using aipo 48ex so far so good without giving problem. If i'm not mistaken the previous problem is the power socket/adapter problem but after u replace new 1 it will work flawlessly ad  cool2.gif
*
I'm on my 3rd power adapter already >_< previous 2 the cover popped open ._. Using a 88L btw, maybe the small humidifier unit is constantly turned on as compared to my 48L with smaller space but similar sized humidifier.

i didnt notice that, thank you for reminding  blush.gif

Diffraction depends on your sensor + aperture, not the lens itself. Its not like better lens have less diffraction etc. Even D3 also gone case at f/32... yours f/40.. and if your DSLR has higher pixel density than the D3 (most likely, unless of course you're using D3/D3s/D700).. should have been even worse.

Just check out the diffraction part,

If you usually shoot on big aperture should be no issue... try shooting with smaller aperture?

Guys, I just compared my sigma 17-50mm f2.8 with nikkor 50mm f1.8 to see the difference in bokeh-ness.

But I discovered that when the sigma is at 50mm, its focal length is still shorter than nikkor 50mm. Does anyone know why?

Maybe Sigma use true 35mm equivalent focal length in their product marking?
*
Might be a lens breathing issue, its like the Nikkor 70-200 is only about 130mm (zoomed to 200mm) when shooting at minimum focusing distance.

I would recommend u getting the D3200... Since u r more to landscape, the extra megapixels will be useful.... icon_idea.gif
*
In my opinion, high MP does not exactly benefit landscape directly. Why? Its because of diffraction, take D800 for example 36MP FF sensor, with the calculations done diffraction kicks in at f/8 onwards! as compared to D700 12MP FF sensor at f/16.

So if its a 24MP DX sensor... you need to compromise more between DOF and diffraction.

Yup. Ways of circumventing that is to focus stack.

But then again if you're shooting landscapes at super wide angles at say 14mm and at f/8 on a D800, focus at hyperfocal distance of around 0.8m in front of you and anything from around 0.4m to infinity would be in focus.

For 16mm and at f/8 on a D800, focus somewhere at hyperfocal distance of around 1m in front of you and anything from around 0.5m to infinity would be in focus.

Not sure on the diffraction limit on the newer 24MP DX sensors though.
*
Seems like based on the formula, should be about f/4 for 24MP DX! doh.gif

So last Sunday my gf shoot her friend's ROM with my D700 instead of her D90, tomorrow for another maternity shoot she prefers the D700 over the D90 now. Seems like when you go FX, you never turn back... even for my gf whose a casual shooter dry.gif.

Yes, I agree about the UV filter and screen protector, best to have them. I already had some scratches on the UV filter on kit lens (thank goodness not the lens itself).

You seem to really love D7000  laugh.gif

Different tier of DSLR body, I would prefer the D7000 over the D5xxx anytime smile.gif *Unless if you need the swivel screen, then D5xxx series is suitable for you.

The D7000 is a kick@rse machine yo, even when its already replaced haha...
I didn't do much research when I purchased my D90 lol  doh.gif , otherwise I'm pretty sure it would've been the D7000 as my 1st camera  tongue.gif
Well, at least you are aware of your options now laugh.gif
Like what celciuz sifu mentioned, the D7000 is one tier up, with much more features than the beginner-line DSLRs like the D3xxx and D5xxx. But since its an enthusiast level DSLR, you won't get those easy-to-understand, guided modes like those in D3xxx and D5xxx, so its much harder to learn if you are still new nod.gif But after you are familiar with the fundamentals, you will definitely find the D7000 being more versatile to use~

So its up to you, if you would prefer a more beginner-friendly DSLR, go for the D5100 (the D5200 is not really worth it imho, since not really a lot of significant improvements for the price increment). If you feel up to the challenge that you can handle a D7000, then its definitely the better pick laugh.gif
Awwww, so cute hehe XD XD
I think my gf has the exact same sailor dress  tongue.gif
*
I find those "guide" mode irritating sweat.gif . To be frank you don't need them, you may struggle say the first week or so but later that you will find those guide troublesome and would want an easier to control system like the upper tier bodies.

Aiyo, can buy car already haha  tongue.gif  tongue.gif
I agree with you man haha~ Which was why I never really regretted my fortunate purchase of a D90 over any beginner model, although at 1st almost all my photos were over or underexposed LOL laugh.gif

D3xxx or D5xxx might be easier for beginners since the entire range of ISO, shutter speed, exposure and aperture values are shown on screen so its easier to choose from them at 1st. But once familiarized, some will find it slower to access to the settings they want, or the specific values they want  nod.gif

Still, I suppose it varies from people to people one la haha, most don't really care about the settings lol, sticking only to Auto and Program modes XD
D400 coming up soon hehe brows.gif brows.gif

Last time when I used D90 as my first camera, I also using the preset... every image looks awesome to me. Heck I even use area AF mode and also semua also looks good. A bit like what people say, if you cook the food, definitely it taste good tongue.gif Those were the days...

D800 has a 91,000 pixel RGB metering sensor (same like D4)

both D600 n D7100 has the same 2,016-pixel RGB sensor

u get wut u pay for... icon_rolleyes.gif

I think the D700 metering is 10xx or something? Worse than both of those DX lor...
