Being unmetered is uncontrollable. They should put hard limit that is reasonable.
*
if provider advertise unmetered and user paid , 2 things need to understand here

1) provider advertise because of their capability
2) user pay more and expect for service as advertise.

You don't advertise your car move fast as F1 when selling Kancil.
And when you buy F1 you don't expect it to move like Kancil.

It's just my opinion bro. No offense.

It's just some people abusing it that affect other user in the same location. Even it's being unmetered the connection is still shared so they should cap/suspend the one that using (abusing) like 100GB++ or 1TB++ traffic per month or the easier method just limit the unmetered plan with 10mbps connection so it will not affect other user and all of their infrastructure. Maxis FUP is just not brilliant. shakehead.gif

If user don't use bandwidth they paid for, who else will ?
If service provide failed to provide service as promise, its their fault not users.
All users paid for service, event BIZ68, BIZ99 or Unlimited Data, they all pay for service.
If Maxis cant cope with the number of users, they have to stop taking new users or improve their services.
Just my taught !

fruitie Please let me know what are the available prepaid calling cards + data in China please. Especially their data haha.. But even then, their Great Wall needs to be coupled with VPN in order to browse foreign sites like Facebook and Google?

Thanks

I haven't bought mine yet. laugh.gif But I will go for postpaid it seems, as told by my colleagues. nod.gif China Unicom is the better one. Don't go for others.

Google is fine, I think I'm accessing HK Google here.

Facebook, sometimes can go in and sometimes can't, I thought totally cannot using China IP address. laugh.gif

But my friend gave me a NTU SG proxy to connect to. So, I can happily login to FB all the time. biggrin.gif In another word, you will need VPN for FB. nod.gif

Can you install the VPN on your Note3 to FB ?

Is it a OpenVPN based VPN ?

Yes, I'm using the VPN on my Note 3 and I can login anytime I want and upload photos or do any update via FB.
Nah, it is a PPTP. Straight add a VPN on my phone. 10x simpler than whatever OpenVPN.
It is from a NTU student that given to my friend, is his friend and he also shares with me while he uses it himself in another part of China. laugh.gif

Mobile data rate is not cheap. smile.gif
I'm not sure where you will be, different province different plan. smile.gif

By the way, Beijing is super cold these days. These two days still OK, around 10c. Wonderful weather! I'll be going to Great Wall tomorrow. laugh.gif

Anyway, it will drop to under 0 during day time in these few days. So, bring sufficient winter clothing. smile.gif
