root is a must to unlock all capabilities.

as for custom rom, the reason for it = better batt life, smoother ui and etc

but without custom rom the batt life is godly! if its my im fine with that thumbup.gif

well u haven't try this P780??? it is marvelous... i'm looking for lighter ROM thats all...
been using it since the 1st day it available here officially...
it met my requirement on the battery life... cos i'm a heavy user...

i see how 1st... wink.gif i'm not new to root has a few droid b4 this, but you are slightly wrong on smoother UI...
AOSP is smoother but there will be glitches also if not implemented properly...
of course stock ROM is very stable... but it is slightly heavy for 1GB of RAM only...

kenot charge straight away? need drain 1st ah?

not yet try bro, wait till i sold my old phone biggrin.gif
i do und what u meant by glitches. but to me, no matter how unstable aosp is, it is still smooth.
to me, the best rom would be using stockrom and getting rid of bloatwares. that would be awesome
1gb ram not bad la bro...... my old fone got 768mb only .___________.
