well MTK chipset not that bad... better than i pay for my S3... Mobo faulty got it replaced and need about 10 days... frame cracks which they did not admit their fault, ask me to repair it with RM600... all those happen within 6 months... haha... i rather pay less than 1k then a problematic phone by Samsung...

BTW i'm waiting for this to come over... have S920 now...

I thought its on mtk6589 same like my A830 which on 3G data speed rch more than that, i think..
Looking at speedtest my umobile rch 7.59Mbps possibly higher if at better signal area. How?
Agreed that lte is next but its still limited area coverage.

Some may argued about Lenovo reliability but I personally thinks it more robust and better built compared to most makers. I was from higher end phone bought this a830 for temp use after sold my HO but later stuck to enjoy its long battery. I really not miss features offered of my former S4 nor HO. Those are premium but still slave to carry power bank. Ha.ha..

Btw, what's the expected retail price for A780?
*
Agree... I'm getting this, the S920 nice also but too big for me...
But I need P780 high capacity, I never miss my S3 and R3 also...

I would have grabbed this p780 on impulse but price is still soo 'keras'. I guess wait a little while won't hurt since I'm still gud on my A830 which offers great endurance nevertheless.

S920 more metro looks but short of breath.
P780 more like kampong girl, can up down but still can perform..
Premium like S4 or HO like high class girl.. u become slave in order to enjoy features...
Just my 2ยข.

well ppl say rubbish chipset... but a lot ppl in China is using it...
well don judge things by it's cover... so far about 2 weeks of usage of S920 i can say i'm happy at the moment...
with P780 now... both of it cannot even buy a S4 haha...
but with this 2 phone i can do a lot more things that u cannot do with just 1 S4... haha...

QUOTE(Hico @ Aug 16 2013, 06:41 PM)
i tested the s920 before..quite impressive and smooth..kinda true that lenovo's pricing is quite value compare to its function and spec.. have you got your p780?? need some users' comment and impression about the phone..ย  tongue.gif
*
Well the phone is made of metallic material so it is heavy and very sturdy...
the screen nice like S920 but a lil smaller, just nice for our hands to hold and can operate with single hand...
UI wise i can say it is smooth and well...
when i take the phone it has 49% of battery...
after i install my wanted apps and sync some others email and chatting apps...
use mybackup pro to send my settings, sms, mms and some other things over...
until now i still have 28% more to go...
i'll go drain all the battery before let it charge until tomorrow morning...
of course what makes me wanna get this instead of S920 is the battery...
S920 i can stand around 9 hours left around 20%... this i hope it can last me around 12 hours easily...

compare to S920 stylish, sleek and big, the P780 is very old skool design but it is sturdy and elegant...

QUOTE(MatShadow @ Aug 16 2013, 07:09 PM)
Where u got this info?
Based from experience?
I'm on MTK and was from S4 & HO. To be frank, I don't miss a thing other than better screen and camera. What I now enjoy most is loooonggg hrs of SOT.
P780 have similar chipset to what I using now A830 and therefore should not have much issue running most worthwhile apps. Again, Lenovo most likely have optimized its launcher and things alike.

I would love to get my hands on this P780 soon tho my A830 is still making me happy everyday for its 4000mAh awesome power.
*
smile.gif agree... had S3 and Pantech R3 which has smooth UI but it cos RM1300...
even though MTK quad core chipset does not have the matching performance but it is not far behind...
my S3 is not lag free, it freeze from time to time... it is the worst Top Range phone I ever use...
most common problem Cracked Frame, tried to claim but said user fault...
had a few colleagues and frens also has this problem...
even this problem has been highlighted since Jul 2012 but Samsung never come out and admit their problem...
laggy due to their firmware and also freezing problem is also related to their poor motherboard problem...
i had mine changed before i sold it...
please ask those ppl to google for S3 issues before say it is very good and problem free...

haha... Mat... no la... i'll pass the S920 to some one else...
i already chasing the guy since i got the S920...
i told him once the P780 arrive PM me the price and reserve 1 for me if not more than RM900...
i'm having 1 iPhone4 and 1 SE Xperia Ray to use also...
my gf have Sony Xperia SP... i would say SP also a good buy, battery can last... UI also very smooth did not notice slow down since 2 months ago...
with her daily usage, the SP can last from 7am till 6pm easily... if heavy gaming then she might need powerbank to standby after 6pm...

oh yeah..would you mind to tell me the scene mode inside p780? does it have remove the unwanted object mode as i saw in the ad for p780? and wat else it got inside the camera scene?

superbuy is selling at 888 now

by the way, the internal storage is the only back off for me with Lenovo
*
well there is a way to repartition... smile.gif
after root... but you can move apps to SD card or their internal memory...
I'm not a fan of big big games that need 1GB space... so no harm for me...
i need it for working, some simple gaming and movies...

QUOTE(mudkipryan94 @ Aug 16 2013, 09:14 PM)
Samseng phone can use greenify la laugh.gif

QUOTE(adie82 @ Aug 16 2013, 09:24 PM)

if you want to repartition the internal memory u need to root...

QUOTE(blur_goofy @ Aug 16 2013, 10:03 PM)
oh? really?? then the antutu benchmark score for the p780 is fake?? it hit 13,000++ .. thats higher than the best dual core but still no match for high end quad core scores...
*
don bother to argue those things la... benchmark is lying sometimes... as long as the UI is smooth i'm ok...
i hate S3 or most Samsung phones cos it is not that smooth...

QUOTE(RRR @ Aug 17 2013, 09:25 AM)
Planning to get 1 soon but internal storage too low, split partition some more.
Any of you rooted to combine with ext sdcard?
No need custom rom just root with stock rom will do.
Btw, how much ram available after boot up, many bloatwares?
Oh yeah, actually not yet made up my mind either p780 or s820 both very similar hardware apart from LCD size, battery & camera, this phone is for my wife so what you guys advise, still weighing both phone features.
*
Yes some ppl already tried on others phone like S920 and A830...
Combine around 3GB...
Actually I never see the free ram but should be more than 200MB, and it is smooth...
For P780 maybe it is a lil heavy for a lady cos it is 175g...
But for the same price, u get different camera, LCD size, and battery...
This applied to S920 also all three around 800-900 and same processor...

Well depends on personal usage... if u wanna have bigger one then buy Xperia SP, skip S3 and others u mention there...
Bought 1 for my gf not long after the launch, no problem on laggy issue... and the speed and UI smoothness is one of the best for dual core device...
HuaWei chipset is not that fast...
S3 is having a lot of issues, Google for common S3 issue...
Nexus4 also not bad but not worth the money u paying...
Sony Xperia SP is around RM1.1k... so suits ur standard...

U must use their charger and cable... tried using others cannot get that result...

BTW some one is asking how many free RAM after start up... just now I double check it is around 40% means 400MB...

Ok after 2 days of weekend usage, or in more precise about 38 hrs my phone battery has drop to 6 percent...

Have to go thru few working days to get an answer how well it last my usage...

S3 and R3 I used to use 2 battery per day...

Just a suggestion...
GSam from playstore is an app I usually used sice it provides more accurate estimation based on average battery performance.
Maybe u can try that.

ok downloaded... will update again... cheers...
