If you are willing to compromise for your data plan quota, then UMI28 is

RM20 of calls = 20 / 0.20 = 100 minutes(not exactly correct but you'll get the rough idea)

If you plan to:
1. Keep existing plan(if you want to keep your number)
Apply for the Postpaid Voice Plus Talk Plus Addon pack for RM8 for a 80 minutes call to other operators per month

then, for the remaining 20 minutes not covered by the addon pack:
20 * 0.2 = RM4

Total Call Usage: RM 8 + RM 4 = 12

Comparison: 12 vs 20 = ?

2. Change the plan
Apply for UMI28. It has 30 free sms to all operators, 100 free minutes of calls to all operators and 500mb of data quota.

so,

Based on your usage, your usage is 100 minute - 100 minute of the free calls = 0(not exactly 0, but even if so, the prepaid's call rate is cheaper than postpaid so it is still cheaper )

Comparison: Call usage reduced by a lot, but data plan only 500mb

An idea of thought:
Since a direct conversion of plan from postpaid to prepaid is not possible, then what if you mnp it to another telco then mnp it back to umobile?

yeah, I've just explained that in the above post as well

In my experience at KL and SJ(not sure bout PJ, I only pass by there when I go to KL), but the signal is usually 3 or 4 bar and the speed is usually around 1 - 2mbps(sometimes 3mbps, depending on location, and it is based on speedtests done on speedtest.net)...... pretty suitable for normal surfing, whatsapp, fb without much hiccup

This is based on in door test btw, outdoor should be better

Hi, just asking but is the checking of quota for the UMI plan still consumes credit? Can't try it as I'm not using an Android phone for my U Mobile sim

It seems like the UMI quota checking is only available for UMI48 *ONLY* and I'm not aware of it as I'm using UMI48 right now

well, USSD was not implemented for WP7, and WP8 is still quite new, so I don't think that there'll be much USSD related apps at the Store

3 ways:
1. SMS: Key in "DATA"(without quotes) and send to 28118
2. UMB: Dial *118#, Select & Select
3. Connection Manager: Click Data Usage Button

The charges after you've used up the freebies for your UMI plan is based on the prepaid plan



The free calls and sms that you mentioned is this(free call and sms to *U Mobile* numbers only, the number of days depends on your amount of top up):

Let's put a scenario for an easier understanding

Let's say that you've top up RM10, so it entitles you for 10 days of free calls to other U Mobile numbers from 12am to 6.59 p.m.

Within this 10 days, if you called U Mobile number in between 12am and 6.59 p.m and the duration of call per day is less than or equal to 60 minutes, then the call charge is foc.

However, if you called a U Mobile number in between 12am and 6.59 p.m but the duration of call is > 60 minutes then you will be charged(with normal 9 cent/30 sec, I think).

Meanwhile, if you called a U Mobile number that is outside of the free call time(which is 7PM to 11.59PM), you will be entitled of a cheaper call rate which is 3 cent/30 sec.
