means the seller get the sell to whoever bid the highest price for trading cards.  brows.gif

I really hope valve setup auction system to boost the card value. a few bucks for a virtual item is just too low.

ooo u mean the buyer's market that i suggested.
then go support my topic la.

express yourself that you wish to see such a system implemented.

however, in most cases, buyer's market usually favors the buyers.
we'll see even lower prices.

but with the buyers market, we will be able to see the actual demand and supply.

ur system has 1 problem.

If I am the buyer I would prefer to buy at the lowest price I want. How the heck I know how much the card cost? If I set too high, I gonna butthurt myself later, if I set too low, not seller wanna sell my card.

Auction system is slightly diff, the seller list the card on the min price he wanted to sell.(he will know if it is too high or not if nobody bid his item) then he set a fix time limit and let the buyer complete each other to bid the item.

in this system, seller will not fear he sell below market value, buyer will not fear offer too much than he want.

easy. you set a price you are comfortable with and wait for the ones higher than your price to be taken off by the sellers.

for reference, click this:
http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/29175

auction system have problem also.
too many auctions going on.

your (seller) auction will be unnoticed.

a trading post system with both buyer's listing and seller's listing is most ideal.

nope. there will always be impatient buyers and sellers.
what we have now is a sellers market listing.
with an additional buyers market listing, it will balance up.

for buyer, if you list your buy price the same as the current highest buy price, then your listing will not be shown at the top. to be at the top, you will set your buy price to be the highest.

for seller, if you list your sell price the same as the current lowest sell price, then your listing will not be shown at the top. to be at the top, you will set your sell price to be the lowest.

you ... still, do not get it?

in guild wars 2 trading post, yes.

for example,
lets look at copper ore, a very common item, a basic crafting material
http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/19697

Sell Price: 22 c
Buy Price: 20 c
Last updated: 4 minutes ago
Supply: 490,371
Demand: 2,020,197

say, i mined a copper node and gotten myself 3 pieces of copper ore,
i right click on it, and select "sell at trading post"

i can sell it immediately and get 20c per piece, since 20c is the highest buying price.
or i could list it for sale at 22c and wait for ppl to buy it at 22c per piece.

say, if i right click on the copper ore and select "buy more at trading post"
i can buy straight away, at 22c or higher, depending on the stock available at what prices etc.

or i could set a custom offer, i.e. list a buy price.
i could list to buy 1000 copper ores at 21c. etc.

Not if you can undercut by a cent. Then it makes things pretty stupid. There's got to be certain increments. Not someone listing at $2.99, then someone else at $2.98.

it is the same in guild wars 2 trading post. we can undercut by 1 copper.
forcing certain increments will defeat the whole purpose.
by the way, this is not ebay bidding.

it is perfectly fine to undercut by 0.01

that's why we need a buyers listing to balance up the sellers listing.

That's why people want that system fixed as well.

It's not perfect and pretty stupid I think especially since you get charged everytime you put a listing up. So if you want to drop your price, you lose out on fees.

So no, not really perfect.

But although I don't like the under cutting system, it does allow a person to offer their items at a higher, the same or a lower price. So lower prices sell fast, anything that is the same will sell once the earlier items at that price goes, and the higher ones only purchased once there's nothing left in the mid or lower price category.

How about make it like "share market"
buyer set the price they want to buy while seller set the price they want to sell.
when match, it will proceed.
Then we can easily see how many quantity willing to be bough on particular price or sell at particular price.
But too bad this card can't up and down as much like some "hot share"
smile.gif
If can, someone will buy all the particular card then later jack it up.
