The thing that tempted me when getting the SV, is when i saw Executive have ABS+EBD, others is not really much as i can slowly change...

Anyway in the end i still got the SV haha.. thumbup.gif

Just curious is it really a Biggie advantage on normal driving? although this is the first car i going to drive with ABS..

(In my imagination, I wanted to take that white and spray it to metallic pearl white. Oh well.)

bear in mind, factory paint will ALWAYS NO MATTER WHAT be better/durable than outside spray shops.

main reason on that is that they are able to oven bake the car at temperatures enough to melt rubber and plastic/shatter glass
outside shops will NOT do that for you nor majority of them even have the facility to do so.

if possible, stick to your original paint for as long as you can (obviously accidents/repairs can't be avoided)

Food for thought:

Perodua SC gives their customers some Perodua brand semi synthetic API SM engine oil, viscosity grade is 5w30 IINM.

Thing is, it is damn cheap, less than RM100 per 4L, and the service schedule states that the oil change interval is 10k km. Today's oil change for the Myvi was less than RM110 without labour , and the next service is after 10k km.

Either P2 is selling some cheap but awesome EO, or P2 engines are farking durable.

Even the Vios at home is recommended semi syn every 5k km huh.gif
*
kancil OCI on the original sticker (lol 18 years still there) is 10k km or 6 month.
obviously mineral oil cant last that long and the P2 SC told me 5k km 3 months

i have the oil can with me (cant remember 3 or 4L, however iinm kancil engine requires about 3L, so if got leftover, should be 4L can), it is Petronas OEM and daihatsu specifications la konon, SL IINM not SM tongue.gif
and yes its xw30 for kancil.
with ORIGINAL P2 KANCIL FILTER (RM13), drain plug, labor, engine oil, ALL for RM70, go figure out how cheap is the oil LOL!

1) P2 engines are durable, >250k km 18 years old car, but the engine can still rev pretty well, and can whack corners etc with down shift/high rev at EA Autoworks by Howiechoo notworthy.gif
i doubt the engine has gone through major repairs, because the damn timing belt is WAAAAAYYYY overdue and could've snapped any time. i tried traffic light drag one time and the engine whined like no tomorrow which sounds seemingly from the timing belt and as i inspected from the sticker on the car and the external belts condition, my suspicions were true, i was whacking a car that could've had it's belt snapped at any time.

when P2 returned me my old timing belt after replacement, lol MANY CHIPPED off spots and almost the entire belt is developing cracks. *PHEW* that's 1 engine saved laugh.gif

2) cheap yes, awesome, not so much. again, it's Petronas EO, mainstream, nothing to shout about.
then again this is coming from a guy who's experienced EO like Liqui moly/Torco so eh laugh.gif

all in all, it's reason like this (after comparing with outside), i don't really see the reason to do the service/part replacement elsewhere other than p2 sc lol, despite the car is over 18 years old and everyone will have the mentality of: old car/out of warranty go outside service la

ayam thinkin the trick is 5w30... EO thickens over time right? so time taken for it to thicken became longer hence the 10k km service interval?
*
haha no.

go get good/better EO that can maintain their additives/effectiveness.

Then why is it even if you use 10w-30 SS EO, Proton tells you to come back every 5k km?  hmm.gif
*
weight before w (winter) means shit in our country laugh.gif

also Nissan Tan Chong also recommends the same as well, as with Honda until recently they changed to 10k km with their newer lineup of honda lubricants (mostly idemitsu OEM).

chances are proton has lesser confidence than p2.
can look at nissan, honda (1-2 years ago), your own toyota vios

imagine this: you put 10k km, and the engine/FC performs like shit, gets complained... as if proton owners don't complaint enough.

p2 owners on the other hand... well, not sure if their owners are more tame (mostly clueless wimmenz), or p2 GENUINELY have better confidence in their daihatsu engine rolleyes.gif
