So why is it Proton and Perodua cars using (probably) the same Petronas Semi-syn EO, but Proton's OCI is 5k km but Perodua is 10k km?
*
chances are proton has lesser confidence than p2.
can look at nissan, honda (1-2 years ago), your own toyota vios

imagine this: you put 10k km, and the engine/FC performs like shit, gets complained... as if proton owners don't complaint enough.

p2 owners on the other hand... well, not sure if their owners are more tame (mostly clueless wimmenz), or p2 GENUINELY have better confidence in their daihatsu engine rolleyes.gif

Expensive ah? After trade in, only need to top up around RM 500. This is what bro-in-law paid for his Persona. To me, that's pretty affordable. sweat.gif

if you don't drive fast and can deal with road noise, i'd advise you to save the money, after 40-50k km or 3-4 years replace all 4 also much better on your pocket (at that time you prolly selling off the car? or sport rims time brows.gif )

My gfs's Myvi that I sent to service today was overdue on both date and mileage (10k km service), I ask her why she never monitor her OCI....

oh god lol rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

oh hey, a trick i learn when dealing with my mom, if i want the OCI to be at 8k, i'll just tell her 7k. it'll be almost guaranteed to overdue until 8k km. date no issue because she's an insurance agent and the mileage is 100% to hit first prior to duration haha.

oh if you're gonna ask on why 8k, because i'm experimenting on long OCI without full oil drain, basically 8k km only change oil filter, and another 8k full drain for a total of 16k km.
atm Torco SR-1 is meeting my expectations, albeit at around 13k/14k km++ it no longer have that torco feel, however once you manage to push the high cams/high RPM range the engine will definitely feel alive again with that Torco AWESOME AND ADDICTIVE high rpm roar laugh.gif

Hi Bro...Hi Everybody!!  notworthy.gif

Re abv listing, Tesco Synthetic Blend?
That's a BIG Wow!  rclxm9.gif

Cheap & Good?
Tesco EO wld b nxt on my list... tongue.gif
*
Tesco OEM from major oil production companies also la (can't remember exactly from who)

but think about this, API standards TBH isn't that hard, just need money
ALL the major mainstream companies also got (eg: shell/petronas/mobil etc)

however how come their engine oil still can't perform on par with performance EO?
Also, some EO such as Torco also don't list their full products, and Torco themselves clarified with me via email is that new SN certification have strict environmental regulations which limit the additives (eg: ZDDP/zinc) they can put in. so technically you're not getting enough protection too.

considering Malaysia is a country that doesn't give a rat's ass about environment, going performance EO isn't that bad of a deal, especially when there are worse f***ers that 'de-cat' their cars for measly performance gains. Funnily my car is too old and doesn't have a catalyctic converter for me to kill so eh whistling.gif

ps: Torco recently renewed their SR-1 SN certification... (it was un-certified for a few months laugh.gif )

Besides that sound, anyone have this, when Compressor cut in, theres a smooth 'siiiisssssss'(can't find a better word to describe it doh.gif ) sound?and when compressor cut off, the sound also cut off..Normal compressor working?Nothing to do with fan speed.
*
yes normal, and the sound only comes when the compressor FIRST engaged (or after you turn off air cond for quite some time and turn on again)

if the sound persist you might wanna get it checked lol
or serviced the air cond if its over 40k km/2 years whichever first smile.gif

up, was considering Toyota one but with so much talk of imitation arnd, was also considering Caltex Extended Coolant...similar.
*
never experience caltex coolant, but their ATF-J is f***ing awesome and reasonably priced. (and good MSDF/specs too comparable even to reputable performance brands!)

personally using red line water wetter so using some cheapo may showa coolant (The distro/parent company behind eneos msia lol so shouldnt be too bad) cuz cut cost and i just want a red coolant to match my red line XD
