I found out my ping with NA and europe servers are half as much compared to japan server.

Anyone else experiencing this ?

*NA & EU server both are in same place, Montreal, Canada.

Still the best way to test your ping is while in-game, alt tab out, Open your task manager, go to Performance Tab, click on Resource Monitor, in the Resource Monitor Window, click on Network, click Check on ffxiv.exe, check the TCP Connection, look for Latency and you can see the average Latency.

Thou the game is not up so is not possible to do so, but i've put here for future reference

You sure the ping shows there is "Your ping to server"? Or is it "this website's ping to server"?
I suspect it is the later.

Well, anyway, I planned to subscribe for at least 6 months, to give my thanks & support to FF series.
So I'll be going after the 6 months Standard Level subscription.
That means I can try out all 3 characters on the same server for the first 6 months, should be enough for me to decide which one to focus, and try out all starting areas.

I understand that different class starts at different place...how about different race? Does race affect starting area?
Total how many different starting quests/area?
At what level the quest converge? After that, does different race get different side-quest?

The only difference between race, is:
- appearance
- starting stat

That's all, right?

I will play till February next year.Need to play Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Returns till platinum then only resume back xiv

Race only effect the first 15 levels of stats, after level 15 your stats will be balance for all race, so is basicly very more towards aesthetics.

You should try the character creator, they have varied clothing to look on

when you reach lvl 15, all your quest will be the same.

Hmm....if that's the case...what's the difference between each character of the same race other than appearance?
Do we have a choice to distribute stat? Or it is fixed based on race+job?

And, if we do have a choice to distribute stat...does this mean that, if I keep adding strength on my character, then that character can never be a mage already?
What do people mean when they say "one character can play all job"? Your character stat will change accordingly to job? Then what's the point of distributing stat?

No, class stats are individual, meaning that each class stats are unique to their own distribution, you will unlock Stats Allocation on level 10. Each class has their own Stats, and Stats allocation points.

You will only start gaining points when you reach Level 10 class. So each class has their own points.



You basicly can change class/job on the fly by just equiping another weapon.

In FFXIV we call this system the Armoury System.

Getting itchy on when's the OBT gonna come. I'm starting to hit the benchmark test over and over again. Lol. Kept getting different scores though. Dunno why.

Oh yeah, noob question. I can't find anything here on how to pay the subs using debit card.

Think anyone can provide tutorials for that? I'm using CIMB btw.
