yes you can register the early access activation code now to http://eu.square-enix.com/en/seaccount but i strongly advise you not to do it until further notice.

Please go to http://preorder.eu.finalfantasyxiv.com and input your email address so we can send you a notification of when you can return and enter your code.
You will need an active Square Enix account to complete the process so, if you want to set one up in advance, please go here: http://eu.square-enix.com/en/seaccount.

OK, I also get the same email be it from gmg or amazon. the 2nd link that tell you to set up account in advance, I didn't do that since I've already possess one. I did in fact log into my account management but find nowhere to input code. So now what I want to ask is where did you enter the code which is what I'm very concern with. From the email 1st link, it's also stated input your email address so we can send you a notification of when you can return and enter your code.. But you're saying you get to enter the code after you setup the SE account? I find no option to enter any code. it's disable atm.

Man... you guys are really making me confuse! and I'm really frustrated to be honest. I bought both version just to get early access and now it's making me nervous that I might botch things up and waste money. For all the people I know and asked, no one had enter the code.. or actually is that only for eu account? but I thought shoji is EU?

Oh.. that's the community site @@
Now I understand. I think i'll wait for the email. The site you say is somewhat like a community site for different region. I never go there since I thought registering important game codes etc is done inside the account management page.

I also thought I went to the wrong site initially just now, but apparently there was a new "face lift" of that site (I went to the NA one). Browse some blog posts, and everyone's complaining about losing their forum post, bought games, nicknames etc after the "face lift".. So I'll be taking your advice and wait till I get the email before doing anything with the pre-order code.

It does let you register the code shoji inside "My Profile".
I've read some more blog post there, and apparently, they merge the EU and NA together, into the europe server. This cause lost of data for alot of NA members.

And a more important news I got from those post is that, although it shows you the registering of the code, NA codes are all rejected on that "new-merge" site at the moment since it was originally an EU only site.

I really can't understand why a multi billion company can't make such thing easy on the consumer end...

damn i really hate what they did to archer... 2nd job to a bard?  from DPS to la la la la lulaby s***!  ~_~ erm. . .  but is it possible not to change job? i mean like stick to archer only?  if you guys have info/link about this can you please share? (im too busy working for research)  brows.gif
*
It's optional, you change job by equiping a job crystal that you unlock. and btw, do you understand what skill bard has? it's still a dps job.
well, if you search the beta forum on bard, if you have some spare time i mean, it is known that bard songs are quite useless atm. However, they are still doing good damage as a long range shooter. I believe when you equip the bard crystal, you'll lose some % of damage but from bard passive trait it's gain back.. something like that so basically, bard are still doing same damage as archer, but with additional song support skills.

Now this is what I hope, and actually I think will eventually happen to archer. That they'll branch out to ranger, dedicated long range type of dps with more attacking skill.

Not really, it's really so hard to pick, basically I'm thinking 1- gla or mrd 2- cnj 3-arc or thm in that order
well, GLA is my first choice since I've play tank(GLA) to 35 in beta3, but may choose MRD since didn't try it out yet. First choice tanker coz if my gang of friends joining ARR, they never like to be tank.... so I guess it's up to me. If most of them are not joining, I'll probably not choose to be tank class lol

CNJ is popular job that everyone needs and I think i'll have less downtime waiting for party with this job. Also because I'm afraid that if I choose other class first, then after doing all main/side quest, it's gonna be harder to lvl CNJ. But.. I really don't like healing lol so if starting a second class is easy to level, I'll ditch CNJ as starting class tongue.gif

So honestly, both the above is not really what I wanted to play as but due to reasons, I might start with them. If it's anything similar like FFXI, basically you'll end up with all job, just a matter of which one to choose first lol.

ARC/THM mainly due to I like how BRD/BLM look in their AF, and I hope another RNG type of job branch from ARC. I really only like stealth-fast-attackspeed-like job(like THF or NIN), or long range archer or magic caster in mmo. IF on launch or open beta they annouce Thief/ninja type class, FOR SURE that will be my starting class to play haha

I hope that they never gonna bring FFXI crafting into FFIV lol. It'll be a nitemare. However in FFXI each craft do have their main element, and player's moghouse is filled with furniture giving the elements(glow intensity) needed.

I've never try crafting yet in beta, is it easy to HQ craft? Back in FFXI it's all about wearing NM or HQ equips before the latter expansion which introduce dungeon gears.

PS: I personally do wish that they'll introduce something like salvage in FFXI. For those didn't know that system, it's something like a dungeon with alot of different levels. You get part 1 from easier level, part 2 from mid level, part 3 from harder levels. only when gotten all three parts, can be then exchange to npc to get the full part. I felt that this was very rewarding given you do a lot of work for obtaining the gear and the stat is incredibly better than usual drops/craft gear. However it is troublesome though lol, imagine 12 people wanting the same part and needing to wait turn or fail random lot. I think Yoshida don't want to implement any of these kind of dungeon.

PS 2: Actually, maybe no. Now I remember I left FFXI due to impossible way to obtain end game incredible gears haha tongue.gif

oh, that's nice to know. I hope crafted gear will be better if it's HQ, then it'll serve a purpose.

Unfortunately, Chinese client will be EXCLUSIVE to china only.
*
well I can hope can't I? I know the deal about chinese client for China but if it's really gonna happen, china server is closed to others besides china residents. 99% there won't be chinese FF14 for china anyway since it's not well received by chinese players there. Actually I don't really care about chinese client, I think my english is good enough, but my friends.... arghhhh... they're not even up to kindergarten english level >.>

nope, don't even know a single japanese character lol. most of them don't even have the heart to play after finding out that the english is quite steep for them in beta 3 /sigh.. waste all my effort to get them beta codes and creating accounts

PS: I can read and write japanese, but I don't know the grammar to structure a sentence lol (had to stop grammar lesson to start uni in oversea sad.gif ). I post in the JP thread using google translate, seem like there maybe some grammatical error there actually, but don't care haha

Is not that :\ it seems that there will be china server as evidence here >>  http://news.mmosite.com/content/2013-07-25...eenshot_1.shtml

/sigh I want a chinese client for NA/EU/JP regions. not one for exclusive china server. If anyone play china's mmo, all will understand we have lousy ping due to china's retarded safety policy for internet. Which is why I ask that question and hope to have a positive answer from SQEX. Please don't debate my intention, I know you are just providing info.

But that doesn't mean you will see every text in English.
Example, I play on JP server using EN client, but players can still communicate in JP.
And if you can't read/write JP (like me), then you missed all the trade/group shouts.
Plus, GM announcements, which can be quite important.

I just wish to understand 2 things before I jump in:
A) Lag
Anyone tried EU server before? Is JP smoother than EU? How much difference approximately?

B) Attitude of JP players towards non-JP.

I wouldn't consider playing in JP initially...but actually I took JP class before in university (JP 101...), so now perhaps is a good time to brush-up again biggrin.gif
BTW, I successfully Pre-Ordered digital version, and created account. But I don't see where I pay subscription...also asked to register for some Crysta thingy...not sure what's that too, lol.
*
A - EU server is actually located in the US or Canada, forgot. Therefore it's higher ping when compare with JP server.

B - JP players are polite and humble. New generation are more open minded towards foreigners, older are more conservative. But no matter which group, they are polite. If you are stumble into their party, most will just accept you rather than be rude and kick you out.

There's auto-translate for important key words/sentences. However this was not implemented much in beta 3 or previous beta. I do believe it will be more starting open beta or launch date (FF11 which is also online, has a great auto translate system on menu/item/equipments/greetings/directions/towns/names/you name it etc etc).

Concerning system message, these are shown to you in relation to what version language of client you have. eg. if you're using EN client, it will be in english.

Concerning shout/yell/trade messages, if you can't understand them, just ignore. There's "Duty Finder" for auto party dungeon system, there's market board (auction house) system for all your trade.

BTW, it's the same if you play in EU server, you'll see french/spanish/dutch languange. JP server just mean there's more japanese players, but there will also be a portion of other language speaking players.

somewhat concerned here, i registered for beta as EU account but SQE sent me a NA beta key instead and i made a new NA account just for that.
Don't know which version SQE will give us or if better we can choose which region code we wanna use? Damn confusing.
*
Well, you should create the account base on which client version you are purchasing in the future, not base on the beta code....

QUOTE(Broadings @ Jul 29 2013, 10:36 AM)
Guys,

Since i have pre-ordered the CE. I got the 'pre-order' code.
*
pre-order code and beta code not the same. pre-order code please wait for SQEX to send you an email notifying you when/where to enter it.
beta access need beta code, which you apply from the main website. However, application is on hold until beta phase 4 open.
and yes, add account service is currently unavailable.

Guys, please stop on the subject of who's pulling who's into which server.

We all have our own reasons and choices to go where we want to. It all depends on personal preferences right? Don't make it sound like a portion go to Server A, and the one in Server B will never grow. There's bound to be lots of new players in both legacy or new servers. It's not like only 20 person going to Server A and that FC is stuck with 20 members.

I am excited to meet new players and make new friends for the FF XIV journey. If you guys really wanna know, there's only a handful of people with max levels. Most already quit the game long before any good updates were out to "fix" the game during original 1.0 (better updates were only out 9 months after the fail launch). So saying legacy server will have no healer/tanker is not really true.

For me, I definitely will choose Masamune (again, I'm not trying to influence people's choice), just because I wanna meet my previous friends from FF XI, FFXIV 1.0. Plus meeting shoji here, I felt that he's a good chap and likes to help people which lead me to join his FC instead of my old friend's FC. Other than that, I am not a competative type, I don't mind taking my sweet time to max level. This time around, I want to enjoy the story. FFXI, I just rush through it, never really understanding the story, really regret it. I also hope that there are more high level crafters, so I dont have trouble getting gears from market board. Most importantly, hope to find new players, join together as a family in the FC, journeying together in the game.

Even though some may be going to Tonberry, I hope from time to time, will post some interesting story here or pretty screenshots.

That website originally said something like beta registration will resume on 17th aug.

Now, it just say something like beta application is closed

I myself think, it's just telling those who didn't manage to get a beta code and register before 30th july, that they'll only be able to register their code on 17th aug. People are just speculating open beta starts when they can register their beta code which I think is not likely to be true due to the dates.

for previous beta code registered, phase 4 will start before 17th, likely the rumoured date 9th-12th aug. However, it's all my own reasoning.

27th - launch
22th - early access(let's say it's a 5 day early access. I remember 1.0 early access was 5 or 7 days)
18-21th - 3 day downtime (yoshi said this himself that there'll be around 2-3 day downtime between open beta end and early access starts)
17th - open beta start, and open beta end? This can't be correct right?

So I do think either it was a mistake date some employee wrote on the website, and later only changing it after realizing it. That employee probably was told something else with a date, and he didn't drink enough coffee and mix it up in his head. I have a strong hunch that 17th aug is actually the date that we'll be able to enter our Pre-order bonus code.
