I also sometimes sleep at 10, 12, 3 even at 6. Just make sure you have enough rest. I started working out on January until now. Gained from 52kg to 69kg. No supplement. Just started using whey last month. Having a partner/spotter is important too. This post has been edited by fas29: Jul 14 2013, 04:43 AM

QUOTE(free_enuf @ Jul 14 2013, 12:26 PM) Well, if your protein intake isn't enough and by adding a serving of whey to your diet but still not enough, it won't do any effect because your protein intake still not enough for you. Whey isn't a magic powder. If you don't have enough calorie to begin with, and poor intake of macro nutrition, it wouldn't effect anything much. Then these kind of questions will appear like 'This whey doesn't work on me' & 'Protein powder is scam'.

If you talk about bio availability, nutrient window, and bcaa profile, whey does make a difference. Thats why the TS said a boost, not a must. My diet is pretty solid but I do see benefit of incorporating whey into my nutrition program. Just sharing

My diet is pretty solid but I do see benefit of incorporating whey into my nutrition program. Just sharing The bolded part is the keyword. You need to have solid diet before incorporating whey into the diet. To gain mass, you need calorie surplus. If the diet itself are far from calorie maintenance, the person won't gain any single mass gain. So by then, even if he take 2 servings of whey or 1 serving of mass gainers, if the diet itself is poor, then no effect will be gain from the supps.

Both simultaneously. You'll notice that by increasing vegetables and complex carbs which contain good amounts of vitamins (e.g. sweet potatoes) which are essential to your well-being, your calorie count is easily maintained.

Supplement is just for supplementing deficiencies. Ideal situation would be to stay away from processed food and beverages that you can find on any shelves. Lightly cook raw foods that are laced with minimal pesticides, ideally organic if you have the money. Take a whole-foods derived natural vitamin a few times a week. Exercise diligently. Sleep well and early. Get moderate sunlight everyday. You'll be a healthy man.

Just add more mixed vegetables, can you still eat the same amount of rice? If yes, then add more veg again, still can?

I'm 20, and I take multivitamin, fish oil, creatine, whey and casein. I also have a tub of pre lying around for my "down" days. The multivitamin and fish oil are for my general health purposes because I have sinus conditions and also above average blood cholesterol levels.
