I created this thread so that all users of the new generation of SE phone users can discuss and compare the quality of the ori and non ori BST-37 battery. It may also enable you to learn how to tell which is ori and which is non ori. AP batteries may sometimes be Non-ori/ recon batteries. So, please post a picture of your battery.

I start off photos of mine. I think it's non-ori.

Fu|at's Midland BST-37 - The font of the serial number and wording are much finer.

Comparison of Original Midland and Original AP

Conclusion after much discussion

1) The top part as circled in red, is different.
2) The material of the wrapping around the battery is metal/aluminum like whereas AP original is dull silver color.
3) The water test sticker for Original Midland is squarer whilst the Original AP one is more rectangular.
4) The bottom of the battery looks different. The original Midland has 2 dots on each end while the original AP doesn't.

Has anyone had issues with their AP set battery? Apparently nowadays AP set batteries aren't original. Please post your feedback about the problem.

All SE users (W550i, Z520i, W800i, K600i, V600i, K750i, D750i), both AP and ori, please post pictures of your BST - 37 battery.

Need to request you guys to take a clear photo of it to enable good comparisons. Use your macro function in your digital camera and take a shot under good lighting. Also, please use at least 640 x 480 quality. Please state whether the battery is from an ori set (Eg midland) or AP set.

Thank you everyone for your cooperation. thumbup.gif notworthy.gif rclxms.gif

From the photo, can see that even fu|at's ori battery doesn't have the shiny metallic cover like aluminum foil.

The only diff so far, is the font of the wordings and s/n.

Ori BST - 37 users, please post the photo of your connector on your battery. AP sets users also, take the same photo. I think, that can let use determine whether ori or not.

the white thing as u claims is a water enter detector for security measurement.

if that piece of white paper touched a little bit of water it will turn pink or red.

by doing that authorised service center have the authorities to reject ya warranty as long as ya white paper turned red/pink.
*
Does that mean that only ori batteries has that white tab?

u should see how that white paper acted. if u cover it up with tape or anything... taking it out will spoil it.

further more... once they open up the inner part of the battery... if ya battery entered water... u still can see water mark inside.

the whitepaper just to ease thier technical guys job. u can't run if it's really enter water. every see inside the phone have some real "sh*t"? i mean it's real... the usersmust have dropped it inside a toilet... wahhahaha tongue.gif
*
Bro, mine got white sticker wor.

And btw, your battery and the battery on the SE website looks different. Check out the label.

i can't confirm white the white things is original... unless u dare to use water to test it.

and again those white black paper one... the most i can think of it water did make the white paper turned pink/red. so they remove it and put a black paper there.

so far i think authorised warranty claims mainly depand on that paper.
*
Bro, I think the printing of the label varies from batch to batch.

My original BST-37 battery is like the SE site. Made in China and Finished in China. It has a metallic like casing around the battery. Solid feel to it.

Type CBA-0002001 stated after the Li-Polymer 3.6 V info.
My AP set however is like calvin_gsc. Has a paper like material wrapping around the battery instead. Made in Korea and finished in china. Looks crappy to me. I'm not surprised this is fake.
*
bro, can get some photos of your original battery from all angles?

I still think that the wrapping around an ori battery is like aluminum foil.

The new comaprisons that I can see is that the water test sticker is squarer for the ori one, and non-ori is more rectangle.

Next, the bottom. The ori one has three small boxes with a dot on each end of it. Non-ori one only has the boxes.

Water test sticker? Looks like those used in lab experiment, is it called blue colbat chloride paper which will turn pink when it contacts with water?
*
Yeap, That's what they use on the sticker. Helps technician to identify problem easier.

your battery is from winners? What did they tell you?
*
They claim that it is AP original. But if there is any problem, bring it back anytime within 7 days 100% unscractched and they will give you a full refund. I hope nothing happens after 1 month of usage. Cause after that warranty over edi. rclxub.gif
