right now I'm using HTC, it is always hang, battery die very fast....not really smooth...
So, is note II worth to buy for just RM1500?
*
erm, yes. Its new set SME rite? Sealed box? Quite worth la.

Where do you see it? I probably will just wait for Note3 but the price will start at RM2299. You have to wait 1 year to see the current RM1500 price cry.gif

Me too. However the competition from the XZU cannot be denied. That one is still on my shortlist.... the large FHD screen is extremely tempting. If XZU 3G suffers a drastic price drop, it will really be a good proposition, but I'll look for the baddest case to stuff it in and I will NOT wash my device nor let it suffer any spills or muck.

Apart from the newer devices with larger batteries, and the HUGE Sony, nothing else comes close to Note 2 for battery life. And this device doesn't have any of the "hang/not smooth" issues many other models suffer from.

It's still an open device with lots of custom ROM choices as well if you're into that sort of thing.

Yes, built in stylus with slot. The XZU stylus recognition seems to work properly only with high conductivity objects like all-metal objects, regular lead pencils and all-metal bodied pens. Furthermore the problem of ink smear, which I first raised, will also be a problem for that nice screen, as shown by one of the videos posted by the TS.

I hate to carry additional stuff in hand, and something like a pen is not always available as most casual t shirts and shirts have NO breast pockets, and you surely won't stuff a pen/SHARP pencil in a pants pocket.... unless alexng2208 can do it and demonstrate to us how it will look like.

The ECONOMIST - Smartphones and handheld computers Computing's new shape As two industries collide, a new kind of computer may emerge

“A COMPUTER on every desk and in every home.” This was Microsoft's mission statement for many years, and it once sounded visionary and daring. But today it seems lacking in ambition. What about a computer in every pocket? ........

============

The ARM computer is not meant to fully replace your x86 PC just yet, since the power requirements are completely different, but if you compare this to a PC from the early 2000's, this can multitask well enough and all in a pocketable form factor between 3.5" to 7".

Of course. It runs in a virtual machine. It is executed from the Android desktop and when you exit you get back your android.

Okay I get it now, so it's a virtual machine. Not actually running on actual hardware. Good to see this implement in mobile device.

BTW, have you this out?

Similar concept but different implementation.

Well it's a TOTALLY different implementation. This one aims to be computer FIRST. Nice, but incredibly expensive.

Price is the only thing that draws me back tongue.gif

It's limited as well. Won't sell to public, only for those who 'fund' them.

More news on IFA 2013 in September ......

http://www.unlockunit.com/blog/berlin-call...t-from-ifa-2013

hmm.gif

As we were saying a few days ago, one of the show’s stars will definitely be Samsung’s new line of Note devices, consisting in the (please let this be real) Galaxy Note 3 and two Note tablets, with sizes like 10″ and 12.2″. While the tablets are more like the sidekicks in this trio, everybody is eagerly waiting for the third generation of Samsung’s phablet. Considering that the previous two models, Note and Note 2, were both launched at IFA, it’s very likely to see the new one in September. The latest rumors indicate that Samsung might launch the Note 3 in multiple models, with 5.5, 5.7 and 6 inch variants. Pretty hard to believe if you ask me. This would mean making the same mistake as they done with the S4 and its deviations – Zoom and Active. One is enough.

Samsung is also expected to come with at least some news about their smartwatch. Some blogs reported that the watch has been shipped to Samsung Germany for testing. What a coincidence. Until we find if this is true, one this is sure: this would definitely put Samsung ahead of Apple on the smartwatch market.

Another big name reported to come with something new at IFA 2013 is HTC. While their One has been already considered this year’s best phone and the One Mini just started hitting the shelves, it seems that only one piece is missing from the family. Yeah, you guessed it, it’s the HTC One Max. A 5.9″ full HD screen, 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU and 2 GB of RAM are more than impressive and it wouldn’t be a big surprise if HTC will spoil Samsung’s party.

And...please ensure you have proper protection for your phone/device when you go anywhere near water, especially the sea...

Salt water damage to a Nexus 4, and the guy tried turning it on immediately after picking it up. Please please please water and electricity do not mix, never turn on your device after it's been in water. Remove the battery (sorry for those who can't) and immediately dry it, then dump it in a container of rice for a few days.
