Warranty period could be extended to 2 years easily if standard warranty for a particular model is 1 year (~ RM150).
Some of the models below seems to tilt toward gaming, but the GPU is useful if your engineering software utilise CUDA or if you do any 3D modelling.

N550JV has the best screen (standard spec), but RE-15 can be customised with an amazing screen. In fact, RE-15 can be customised, period

If I really has to choose, I will go for RE-15 (I really like that NTSC 95% gamut screen ).
But I think if you go with Y510p, you will have the most budget left to go for a 256G SSD (~ RM600) (swap out the HDD). SSD really make a huge difference in responsiveness.
