QUOTE(ClieOS @ Jan 6 2014, 11:22 PM) Got mine here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Design-Xiaomi-...=item2a36004698 Dear ClieOS,Excellent for the price. You can pay twice as much for something else with half the SQ. It is not going to beat really good IEM, but I don't think you can ask for more with that kind of price. how is the P2 if compared to your highly rated RE400? could the P2 at least match the RE400 SQ? |

Kinda interested as well but have few of my IEM already lying around chewing dust... *sigh* not sure if it's worth it?
@ClieOS, what signature (brand) does this resemble? Japan sound? German sound? How much if I want to join the bulk? Postage to Kuching, Sarawak. |

QUOTE(un_id @ Jan 8 2014, 12:10 PM) Dear ClieOS, I won't say it beats RE400, especially on the mid, but it does get pretty close consider the 1/4 price tag.how is the P2 if compared to your highly rated RE400? could the P2 at least match the RE400 SQ? QUOTE(wildwestgoh @ Jan 8 2014, 03:48 PM) Bassy with a very slight V-shape FR, fairly well balanced with a good soundstage. Dunno what Japanese or German sound is like. |

QUOTE(mirzan007 @ May 24 2014, 07:34 PM) The Pistons are bassy IEMs, borderline into basshead territory. There's also a surprising amount of sparkle up top and generally, the mids do suffer presenting the Pistons with a U-shaped signature. Soundstage is pretty wide though and generally the Pistons are laid-back IEMs. Great for pop, rap, EDM, techno sort of genres. |

The similarly priced SoundMagic E10 is more balanced at this regard, it doesn't have as much prensence on the bass nor does it ever go lower than 50hz (rarely even touching that in fact). You could do the foam mod by removing the foam in the Pistons to improve mids, but that really saps out the kick on the bass that the Pistons is known for. Double edged sword IMO. Some people like it without the foam because it becomes less U-shaped and is generally more balanced and upfront, but I personally think it doesn't fix much. Also by removing the foam, the treble becomes way too bright as well. Indeed, the looks of it is something you'd generally expect from IEMs priced RM300+ or more. |

Anyone know how to get these earphones in Malaysia? I wouldn't mind paying a small premium, but considering 99 yuan = RM50, and the sellers on LYN are selling it for almost double the price, I'm definitely not going to buy from them.

I wouldn't mind paying a small premium, but considering 99 yuan = RM50, and the sellers on LYN are selling it for almost double the price, I'm definitely not going to buy from them. The problem is your calculation and perception of the cost. On Xiaomi Singapore's website is SGD19.99 + SGD5 delivery = SGD25 = RM66. To deliver to you via Poslaju is another RM6. What about the time taken to wait in front of the computer and compete with others to get it (just like AirAsia 0 fare sale)? In fact, asking for RM100 is cheap. Do have 3 sets of brand new iF edition Pistons with me just to spare and have not intention to sell at all, at least not at RM100 Beware of fakes! ![]() This post has been edited by E1 - AKG: Jun 4 2014, 08:09 PM |
