Terrible playing??? C'mon, that was good! hahaha...

Anyway nice tonelar, you do get some nice metal tones out of the Vox, I can't seem to get such brutal tone! Was the SD-1 being used?

The Wonderful Tonight clip had a pretty sweet tone. wink.gif

Addicted to recording eh? tongue.gif
*
yep, SD-1 is used
for the numetal one i used a scooped mids setting

i do agree it doesnt really sound like dual rectifier compared to a gt8 modeller
its pretty far from being as heavy as the rectifier modeller on the gt8

cuz im gonna go to play css now
hurhurhur
recorded using the UK modern setting [can be a JCM900, 2000 or a silver jubilee]

not sure what it is, but its characteristics matches what silver jubilee reviewers say...
only my assumption tho

recorded using a lespaul, uk modern setting, mostly on neck pickups except for rhythm, its the bridge pickup.
not running thru the sd-1

bass 2-3 oclock
mid 2 oclock
treble 2-3 oclock

i'll restructure the sentence after i get back!! im off to my friends house XD

sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif I thought the Dumble amp has a great blues rock tone. biggrin.gif

Yeah, the Behringer Blues OD is a good pedal for boosting. thumbup.gif
*
in reviews, they said the behringer blues OD performed just as good as its boss counterpart if not slightly better

however, the others didnt really manage to perform as well.... =/

I did an A/B with the SD-1 and Blues Driver and I much prefer the Blues Drive... not sure how it fares as a booster lar, but the sound's definitely warmer and packs more gain (To my ears). thumbup.gif
*
SD-1 has a pre-eq'd sound
made to be more trebly

=/

so it could cut through in a mix...
at least thats what i read tongue.gif

I don't know... I just don't notice the effect on my old SS amp lol... Then again, it shows that the Vox is transparent... maybe...

Change strings? I just changed mine! And just after few hours of playing it turned black!!! Anyway, I notice that the Ernie Ball strings turn black faster than D'Addario, so I think I'm gonna stick to that... it's so hard to get gauge 11 strings. sad.gif
*
my ernie ball lasted nearly 7 months [6+]
just changed bout 2 weeks ago.... i fingers sweat alot too
but i really took care of it this time
wiping it dry and scrubbing grime off it tongue.gif

and yes, i immedietely heard the extra brightness of the new strings thru the amp
especially the clean!
haha

I can't give you much advice dude... I think that's the latest price atm... I feel sorry for you lol... I got the AD50VT for RM1050 last year during their year end sale, try to use that to bargain with them, if they're still hard-headed... oh well, pray that there's another year-end sale this year. smile.gif
*
why the price hike???

very high demand ??

It sounds waaaaaaaay too sharp. There's no way of adjusting it. Trying to get Tom Morello's sound.... almost impossible. In fact, alot of people in the Tonelab Forums also can't get that sound.
Actually...... my Zoom GFX-5 Pitch Shifter sounded better!

EDIT: I found out why. It doesn't have "intelligent" pitch shifting...... meaning that it tracks along with your playing and harmonizes with the notes diatonically (within the scale/key)
*
oh icic

intelligent pitch shifting available in GT 8?

or maybe ur playing sounds bad laugh.gif jk !!

Guess what I did to my AD50VT? biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Anyone who has an AD30VT/AD50VT may have thought at one point in time that it was seriously lacking one particular important feature - an effects loop.

In the pictures above, see the two chrome jacks on top of the line out and speaker out? That's the FX loop I just added biggrin.gif The jack above the line out is FX Send and the jack above the speaker out is the FX Return. The FX Send comes out directly from the preamp while the FX Return goes back into the Valvereactor poweramp circuit.

I now plug my Zoom G9.2tt modeler directly into the FX return to bypass the Vox Preamp to avoid any additional coloration (instead of plugging the modeller into the front of the amp where the guitar is normally plugged in). This is a much better way to use a modeler IMO and works briliantly for me. The Zoom models the preamp while the Vox models the poweramp biggrin.gif

Anyways, I got the mod instructions from one of the guys over at patchtronix. Here's the link to the forum. The proper link to download instructions can be found on the 2nd page.

The instructions are for the AD30VT, but it also works on the AD50VT too. I highly recommend that any of you who's got a bit of the DIY spirit and desperately been wanting an FX loop in your AD30VT/AD50VT to give this a try. Do read the instructions thoroughly before attempting this mod as you could seriously damage your amp. Get all the necessary parts and tools before starting.

Have fun! smile.gif

DAMN!!!! thats like running a full tube
just that ur poweramp is puny !!!
any chances that you'll offer mod services =p hahahahah

question! ad50 has 2 preamp tubes in the poweramp?

erm guys?
does your amp give u a hissing sound when u pump the gain for high gain models like uk modern, numetal n so on?

is it a sign of my tube dying or is my amp just gaying with me?
p/s this problem has been here for quite awhile
n now only remember to ask bout it
lol

its past its warrranty i guess
the hissing sound has been there for really long
but i rarely use the high gain channels

but several songs i play really demands for higher gain
so the hissing sound is really unbearable if u dont keep on playing

owh well, when my tube dies out, i'll hope its the source of the problem n a tube change will solve it =/
