Terrible playing??? C'mon, that was good! hahaha...

Anyway nice tonelar, you do get some nice metal tones out of the Vox, I can't seem to get such brutal tone! Was the SD-1 being used?

The Wonderful Tonight clip had a pretty sweet tone. wink.gif

Addicted to recording eh? tongue.gif

Heh... maybe it would sound much more authentic if the guitars were down-tuned and the amp set to scooped-mids settings.

But yeah, it's the nu-metal model on the amp. smile.gif

hmm after some tinkering outside my usual tone, I found that the Boutique OD has a pretty kickass metal tone, except that it's lacking gain.

tempted to buy a cheap behringer OD pedal to boost the gain to turn it into uber goodness.

sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif I thought the Dumble amp has a great blues rock tone. biggrin.gif

Yeah, the Behringer Blues OD is a good pedal for boosting. thumbup.gif

I did an A/B with the SD-1 and Blues Driver and I much prefer the Blues Drive... not sure how it fares as a booster lar, but the sound's definitely warmer and packs more gain (To my ears). thumbup.gif

Haha... anyway since you have started listening to stuff like Floyd and Straits... you know damned well you're about to leave the metalhead group... tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

Anyway I think I have a clip of somebody boosting his amp with a Behringer pedal... and it sounded pretty good. Have to dig that clip first tho.

EDIT : Found... UGPM nerd.

yeah thanks for the clip. biggrin.gif but that's not the behringer blues driver copy right? and he's using BKPs.. sweat.gif

That's the OD/DS clip heh... quite impressive for the bloody cheapo pedal, not sure if it has anything to do with the pups, but your SDs are pretty good too. thumbup.gif

The effects are far cry from sounding decent... though I kinda like the reverb and delay, both are pretty usable effects imo. Chorus, tremolo and rotary are alright I guess, but I still prefer to use the ones on Magicstomp... overall they're just the icing on the cake imo, the main attraction of the AD is the tube-like tone it could produce heh.

One thing tho, the amp would sound pretty muddy when the strings go black. sad.gif And I sweat a lot, so much that I doubt anything can prevent that... sad.gif
I'm not sure if the same could be said with other modeller amps.

I don't know... I just don't notice the effect on my old SS amp lol... Then again, it shows that the Vox is transparent... maybe...

Change strings? I just changed mine! And just after few hours of playing it turned black!!! Anyway, I notice that the Ernie Ball strings turn black faster than D'Addario, so I think I'm gonna stick to that... it's so hard to get gauge 11 strings. sad.gif

d'addario lasts longer. i even spent abit more money to try out DR strings who claims to last longer and is 'specialy handmade' from the US. going bck to d'addarios but cant find those super heavy gauge ones

Yeah... but I have an impression that Ernie Ball sounds brighter and clearer... could be my mind doing the trick.

Yeah... it's pretty uncommon to get gauge 11 onwards strings over here. sad.gif

Can someone pass me the skill of Bargaining !! ??? He HE

I can't give you much advice dude... I think that's the latest price atm... I feel sorry for you lol... I got the AD50VT for RM1050 last year during their year end sale, try to use that to bargain with them, if they're still hard-headed... oh well, pray that there's another year-end sale this year. smile.gif

The AD100VT has effects loop actually and I usually run my pedals before the amp. Effects like chorus, flanger, phaser and wah are generally placed before the amp. As for reverb and delay pedals, some prefer to place them in the the effects loop or with the PA. I use the Magicstomp right before the amp and found no problem with it... it probably sound better in the loop but atm I'm happy with it. smile.gif

Ermm...i am newbie here...and i just bought a Vox AD30VT amp in the middle of August...and yes, its from Ck music..
It wrote Rm1050 in CK music but they gave me a discount after i start haggling...and i was able to get it with just only Rm850...i think it is worth it...The amp have everything for me (as i am a newbie)...and the amp offers a real wide range of effects and noise..it is really worth it...
But i am having some problem in tweaking the amp...too wide combination you see...

You must have bargained really hard. biggrin.gif Congrats on your new purchase. thumbup.gif

I got the AD50VT for RM1100 iirc... 30 might not have enough ommph... but the 50 packs more than enough power.

Not too sure about the Roland Cube tho.

That's what I normally use too hahah...

I have this Blackface preset saved with huge amount of reverb. I set the decay level pretty high and it does sound close to a Twin Reverb. I roll off a bit of highs and boost the bass to get a thicker sound, I think this setting would work best with a 335-style guitar, but with my pacifica, it sounds pretty good too. smile.gif

If you want more punch/gain in your sound, try the AC30 settings, very chimey highs and enough gain for SRV or Johnny Winter stuff.

UK70s sounds pretty good for blues playing too. smile.gif
