Our Driller Trainee Programme is a rare opportunity to gain a fast track international career in the offshore industry. The aim of the Programme is to train future leaders for our drilling units. During this period you will receive theoretical training at our Maersk Training facilities, as well as practical training on our offshore unit. You will work your way up from Roustabout, and at the end of the Programme you should be able to take up an Assistant Driller’s role on our rig where you will continue your training and career.

Candidates for the position should meet following requirements:

Malaysian nationality (Work location is in Brunei) with good verbal & written English
Preferably with more than 3 years of Mandatory offshore experience, minimum as floorhands
Holding a B Eng / BSc in Marine, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or equivalent

Hello azraeil, my diploma was in mechanical engineering.Recently UTP has opened for registration but they do not offer petroleum engineering and only offer petroleum geoscience.I was in doubt whether is this a good bet or not as it's a very niche area.I am afraid that it would be difficult to get a job in future.In this situation,what would be your advise to me ?

One more thing if they drill in selat melaka where will the base going to be? From KSB also?

Hi guys! Been quite some time since i last post something here.

Wanna ask if anyone here is working in weatherford singapore..

ok ah. my last job have to insp the welds on some pipelines.
in order to get to the welds, the insulation needs to be removed, scaffold needs to be ready.

and the client marah2 the inspection team why cant do it yet?
and i showed the isometric, they cant even locate where the scaffold and insulation removal should be.

you see? they are the one who should handle this kind of preparations. they should ask the scaffold guys and insulator guys to get it done. they dont even know what are they supposed to do.

i am the one who traced the welds and report to their boss. its like im doing their job. and yet they ask stupid questions over and over again.

I saw in the nov website, they hv hydraulic TDS mainly for land rigs. I never been to a land rig.

Rule of thumb is to not stay for more than 2 years doing mudlogging. Because there's not much you can learn anymore after 2 years. With 2 years experience, other companies will also start looking at your CV differently. Try as best as you can, bear with it and gain as much experience and hopefully people will be able to see your worth

So far with 4 companies, there are no blood test for pre employment medical checkup. Only urine test. Drug test analysis. Blood test only for bosiet. I'm not sure if some companies include blood tesr for pre employment too.

Got two offers. One service and another client. Wireline and the other one drilling. Going to start with the latter one next week.
