HIGUIAN ? highly unlikely, his relation with JM at RM was so so only, and JM play BENZEMA over him most of the time. Just another rumour made up i guess.

Of all the striker we are link, i actually think FALCAO is the best option, he is the striker that will stay inside the box and good at it, we do not need another striker that can play wide, we have plenty cover for that already. HIGUAIN was ok but like i mention above, unlikely it will happen.

The problem i see last season is that, against a parking bus team, when TORRES or BA was ineffective inside the box or drift wide, nobody go in and fill the box, we need more player doing smart run inside the box. MAZACAR definitely not the type that is comfortable go in the box, they prefer staying outside and getting the ball. A ROONEY playing the trident role (not striker) will help i guess, he got the striker instinct to do smart run to attack the box. I think SCHURRLE might has it too since he can play as striker.

Seeing all the available striker have been taken, i am pretty happy with TORRES, BA and LUKAKU. I say let start the season with the squad we have, give everybody a chance to prove themselves, then maybe by january, JM will know who is in his plan and who is not.

+1 on that. I think if Lukaku is given a full season in a Chelsea shirt, he will shine. Just that Torres is kind of inconsistent, hope that his goal scoring form for last season and confed cup can be carried forward to the next season. We really need a striker scoring inside the box, a finisher or should I say.

sign higuain? loan Ba? u trolling or wat?
higuain was not featured regularly when JM was there. i doubt JM want him here.
instead of loan Ba out might as well get him off ur wage book and offload him. one stone, 2 birds. in addition his physical aint that good as well. injured much often i guess?

hmm.gif I know he wasn't Mou's first choice in Real. Mou do prefer Benzema, but Higuain scores more than 15 goals for the last 5 consecutive season for Rea, except for the 10/11 season. Even for the last season when he was seldom used by Mou, he still scored 16.

season 08/09 - 22 goals
season 09/10 - 27 goals
season 10/11 - 10 goals
season 11/12 - 22 goals
season 12/13 - 16 goals

That is quite consistent imho. Looking at the options of striker available on the market now, Higuain would be a good buy, just dono how well he will adapt to EPL. icon_idea.gif

Ba's situation is a bit awkward i think, signed 6 months ago, but suddenly Torres starts scoring, then Ba became 2nd choice. Just bought for 6 month then offload him? I think he will be loaned out instead if a striker do come. 3 and half year contract le~ Teams sometimes are not willing to pay so much for a player that has juz signed not long ago with a 3 n half year contract.

Just my 2 cent. icon_rolleyes.gif

Seems like Mou really keen on signing Roo. And his comments about Rooney needing regular first-team football puts other 3 strikers' position in question. If Roo does come in, one of them has to go. Probably will be Torres. He could benefit from moving elsewhere. Ba might be good to have him in the squad, but if a club really wants him, loan or otherwise, maybe he can leave instead of Torres.

Roo is monster footballer. World class, only limited by his fitness in my opinion. Work-rate and team work undeniable. Dangerous on the ball, exactly what Mou needs. I would be happy if we do sign him, but won't be sad if we don't. I'm just looking forward to see Mou and the boys in action with Lukaku, DeBruyne getting first team football in Blue.

+1 If Mou say that, Ba, Torres and Lukaku is soooo in danger. 1 of them will be sacrificed (sold or loan). But who will it be? rclxms.gif

tactically, i think rooney is a better purchased compared to higuain. he is more versatile and hardworking than higuain.

plus i don't think rooney will cost us as much as higuain.

furthermore, if we bought higuain, lukaku's chance to play will be affected because they are vying for the same exact spot (did not include ba because i think he understand he is only a squad player).

my gut feeling is strong on the option of gambling with lukaku next season and make our move during the january transfer window. at the moment, PSG and Monaco is on spending free which I think will inflate some of our target's value. if we do add rooney, then we are better off without ba.

‘For me, Luiz is a central defender,’ said Mourinho. ‘He can help the team playing in another position but he’s a central defender, no doubt about it.

‘I know Ivanovic is very comfortable in the centre but I see him and Cesar Azpilicueta as our two right backs. Our defensive group will be good.’
