you can touch through the wallet... over at Monash we have been using it for some time to unlock doors etc but not for attendance yet though
*
yea, thats using RFID. This tapping technology mostly used for security. its not common to have things like taping card/phone for attendance, thus im trying to expose universities to actually try this. reduce time for lecture to update data on server, reduce paper being used to sign attendance (my university) and exposing nfc technology. choose to use nfc because it can be use for much higher application due to its 2 way communication. happy.gif even when final examination, the lecture need to compare our id with out exam slip and our face sleep.gif..would be better if the lecture can just tap their phone on our id/tags and all those data automatically checked..

enough talking about my project in HTC One forum tongue.gif really off topic..

well u need to leave ur ID at the corner of ur desk so they can check if u are being smurf-ed or not... and in uni, attendance is usually not compulsory (or at least most units in monash)...

i would love to have multiple NFC stuffs linked to the phone cause I do have a few RFID cards and i need to take them out of my wallet lolx

Data is only wiped if you use HTCDEV to unlock your bootloader.

can list out university in malaysia that use card for attendance? need to check it out. NFC technology is widely used in developed country, but malaysia still not being exposed to this technology. anyway, just wanna ask, is it easier getting student card from wallet than getting ur phone in pocket?
*
that can be double standard, so the university will require/force students to have NFC enabled smartphone? or they will give it for free?? always the cheaper solution is using name cards

nfc tags can also be used in replace for their smartphone..said it in earlier post i think. just that those who have smartphone have the option not to use tags.

As far as I know, the NFC chip in smartphones are NOT writable. They are SCAN ONLY, and can only read what's on other NFC chip.

really, this is not practical unless NFC enabled smartphone is as cheap as the basic phones ranges from RM200-500, means affordable for all.

I seem to have some problems in saving new contacts. My contacts (about 800 total) were transfered/imported to the phone by using the htc software from pc. The problem is, whenever i enter and saved a new contacts directly on the phone, the contact is not saved in the phone contacts (where my 800 contacts are stored), instead it is stored Exchange Activesync contacts. How do i change the default save location to phone contacts?

Hi all, I am thinking to get the HTC One black color. Would it be very dirty or easily scratch for the black version of the phone?

Thanks for the advice. smile.gif

Hi. Thanks all for the reply. I am currently Maxis user and it seems no luck in getting a Silver version of the HTC one now and only Black version is available.

So anyone using the 64GB version of HTC one? I am thinking to get the 64GB version from other reseller rather than wait for Maxis.

Thanks for all advices. Appreciate lots smile.gif

But the price is superbly different between the ones that is in the retail shop and the ones that is selling off Lowyat? (SevenMobile)

I'm kinda over the fence about where to buy the phone from.=.=

You dont need to write on the smartphones NFC chip, just create an android apps for the student to store their information and use NFC to send their information when tap with the lecture's phone..

you dont get my point here. any student who dont have a NFC enabled smartphone, can use NFC tags to store their information. something like a keychain. but for those who have a NFC enabled smartphone, can install apps I created to store their information on their phone..
edit: if you still say its not practical due to price of smartphone, read something about nfc tags and how to use them..

bought from 1 gadget last sunday, open a good box where the phone has no issue, bring my own screen protector and they help me install it. Price RM 2048 for 32 GB. no reason for me to buy from retail HTC store as the warranty is still under brightstar/sis, not directly under HTC.
