200~300 ms is rather typical and normal for connection to USA servers.
Unless you pvp intensively , the PVE aspect shouldn't be too much of a problem despite of the ping difference.

Theres no doubt some some people here could read japanese , else its rather pointless to play in a server where you don't understand a thing spit by the other players.


Japanese players usually single out the foreigners , been doing that since FF11 time .

Well I hope in future Japanese next or next next next Generation, they learn English. To proud to learn other language maybe? Well its their culture anyway, what can I say. I tried to learn Japanese .. but got mental block every time I see the Japanese character.

Well today I went over to Gilgamesh NA (if not mistaken, so many servers... are they not too many of them and divide the player base?), the ping is about +50ms compared to JP server, seems Ok actually. The western community do fares better, much more active and dare to spoke out on the shout channel.

hi Sifus...i got the Beta key last friday...today only got the chance to donwload and install...all the sudden all server is under Maintenance and when i try to login it says Plstry again next Beta...does it means im eligible for limited time Beta or the servers is really under Maint?

In phase 3 , the server will only be open for three days , Friday to Sunday but Shoji said that next week will be up for whole week...

Sure it sound as if its manageable but not really this is not like ffxi where battle pace is so slow.

well for generations , MY players have been active in many US-based rpg such as Everquest and Anarchy Online.
250-300ms are the best you can get even with ping reduction program like gamepath .


There got to be some difference , afterall the 0.1 sec delay will definitely bother in PVP . But not in PVE .
But then You are not getting 20 ms like the Japanese based players on their regional servers , you will still definitely lose out in ping when pvp-ing if that 0.1 delay is that crucial .


I don't think FF14 ARR is that fast ( or even describe it with fast ) , its faster than original FF14 .
The combat for example in TERA is much more responsive . Yet there is no Asian servers on TERA . GW2 has no Asian servers too .

You are still getting 150-200 ms on the Japanese servers , no ?

The difference between us MY players on US and JP should be roughly between 0.1-0.15 seconds ( 100-150ms )

If the game is fixated on setting escaping an AOE spell by 0.15 seconds , then something is very wrong with the game .
Because even playing with perfect pings , some of us have got slower responsive system than the 0.15 seconds delay.
