Who wants to use a 4K monitor for games:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/7120/some-qu...4k-max-settings

....Similarly to Metro, Sleeping Dogs (with full SSAA) can bring graphics cards down to their knees. Interestingly during the benchmark some of the scenes that ran well were counterbalanced by the indoor manor scene which could run slower than 2 FPS on the more mid-range cards. In order to feel a full 60 FPS average with max SSAA, we are looking at a quad-SLI setup with GTX Titans......

==============

ummm.....4x of the TOP OF THE LINE graphics cards to achieve 60 FPS.....

Technology designed for ladies:

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Savelli-deb...r-women_id44740

.......The Savelli smartphone is set to debut on the luxury handset market later this month, with a launch party scheduled for July 3. As for its price, the cheapest models can be ordered for about $9000, while the most expensive variant called Black Insane can be had for $118 000.

=============

At prices like that, may I hazard to say that it is the men who will buy it for the ladies....

It's been an awfully slow day. There was some report saying that in the UK, 38% of Sony buyers were previous Samsung owners, who switched to Sony after their S2 contracts expired. Well, market is slightly different there since the phones are almost free.

Anyway, Sony does make compelling hardware nowadays. I am moved by XZU. Let's be patient and wait for the Note 3 to show its hand before deciding.

surprise huh.. i'm just home that's why LOL

i need me some new ROMs i guess... Sentinel is tempting with the Linaro and what nots
*
Didn't you already try Sentinel with Linaro from 4.6 and 4.7 ? Linaro is meant for ARM performance, probably won't work on Intel SoCs but who knows...

some mention about Linaro optimization resulting in 30% minimal increase in performance...

i wonder why Domination mentioned that Google's GCC is more stable hmm.gif
*
It shouldn't be "Google's" GCC .... GCC stands for GNU C Compiler I think, or something like that. GCC has been around since the early days of Linux, so it is stable after 20 years... Linaro was only born 2 years ago.

Better start saving. Sikit-sikit lama-lama jadi bukit.

==========================

Opinion article:

Why should anybody care about your social status?
http://www.androidcentral.com/talk-mobile/...tus-talk-mobile

One of the opinions:
For the average person, one who maintains a smaller network comprised of only the people they care most about, Facebook can be incredibly efficient. Following a few celebrities and a few interesting communities (like all the Mobile Nations sites) on Twitter can be really enjoyable. Used with focus and restraint, social networks can enrich our lives, keep us informed, and keep us up to date faster and better than just about anything else.

But it all too often becomes a numbers game. And I totally blame the networks themselves for that. They put big follower counts, like counts, friend counts, plus counts, etc. where everyone can see them, including us and our egos. That makes it a game, and it makes competitive people -- like me -- want to compete. And competing takes time.

I just tried the light version and it seems to be very sensitive to the cover. Turns on and off the screen quite frequent and im concerned abt the battery consumption though

Some news . (what an understatement)

The Reddit sleuths who brought down a meme empire
http://www.dailydot.com/business/reddit-qu...miltz-brothers/

=============
The article title may not do it justice here in Malaysia but I urge you all to read the article. It shows an insight into how gaming the system to make money means some real big bucks for SEO. Let's say it may be likened to the NFC story. No, not Near Field Communications !!!!!

Shows how forum moderator politicking happens as well, and democracy and justice in action.

So shall we stick with earlier gapps, like say from March or Jan ? Or stay off gapps altogether except for Play Store ? tongue.gif

antt00, what theme u using for nova + system theme?

Per one of the XDA articles on living without Google, I think Android is fully functional without gapps. The only bummer is lack of the Play Store for all of the softpr0n type apps you like to download whistling.gif well I know you know how to Google for available apks tongue.gif

Other gapps stuff have 3rd party equivalents.

oh do you mind trying to click login on Maybank2u.com.my and see if the link is accessible. it isn't for me

anyways,

how do i function without gapps?

1. gmail web, ok!
2. maps web, sucks but ok!
3. playstore how?
*
There's some app that works on the PC by basically faking your PC as a phone to allow download of the apk for remote install. This is not about piracy but about being able to access the Play Store for the paranoid. It does not bypass license check, and you still need to supply a login for your google account, so you can still access all your paid apps legally.

I can't recall what it was...written by some Vietnamese dev.....let me dig and later I'll post.

UPDATE: Real APK Leecher
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1563894

It seems to be having problems working currently maybe due to Google changing some interfaces at the back end, but you can always try.
