Understand what I said smile.gif
SSD in m.2 port obviously will come in full range of capacity.
But Y510p don't leave enough space for those longer m.2 SSD (the bigger capacity the SSD, the longer the card).

if you check Intel spec sheet on all the Haswell laptop CPU released so far, you will see that Haswell mobile CPU (HQ, MQ, U, Y) only support DDR3L or LPDDR3.
http://ark.intel.com/

sticking 1.5v DDR3 into Haswell spec laptop is asking for trouble laugh.gif

Do Y510p have WiDi support ? can make wireless display ?
*
for WiDi to work, you need Intel HD.
Y500 definitely will not support WiDi since Intel HD4000 is turned off.
Y510p single GPU spec can run with HD4600 which support WiDi. But for WiDi to work, you also need Intel Wireless card. iinm, Y510p in Malaysia is not spec with Intel wireless card hmm.gif

•Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1000, 1030, 2200, or 2230
•Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2200 for Desktop
•Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6200, 6205, 6230, or 6235
•Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6205 for Desktop
•Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N + WiMAX 6150
•Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250
•Intel® Centrino® Ultimate-N 6300
•Intel® Dual Band Wireless-N 7260
•Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260
•Intel® Wireless-N 7260
•Broadcom* BCM43228
•Broadcom* BCM43241
•Broadcom* BCM4352

These are the wireless card that officially will work with WiDi.

You sure they give a free ODD? I did not see it on the unboxong of the Y510P on youtube. And two adapters? If I use the 170W adapter to charge the laptop without the second GC, will it be faster?

Yup, that is the main negative point of Y series in Malaysia.
For users who are not professional Photoshop user, I think it is still ok.
For pro / semi-pro user who really want colour accuracy, better top up a bit and go for illegear RE-15 tongue.gif

sifu, any comment about these threads?

http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?3...ory-is-required!

So far from what I read, it really depends on the specific Haswell CPU hmm.gif
And has yet to come across Haswell spec laptop that come with 1.5v RAM out of factory hmm.gif

buddy, you sure the corsair is not dual voltage? icon_rolleyes.gif

try ur best as much as u can...people buy bcoz its cheap...izzit warranty for Lenovo really works? its depends ur luck...local set also got many problem that Lenovo not entertaint...no need put here link...people can read themself at Lenovo forum or facebook...from laptop to smart phones... notworthy.gif

Ajul, I understand you are a reseller and you sell Lenovo Y series AP set, and I appreciate your input.
So far the comment on this thread about Lenovo Malaysia not entertaining warranty claims on Y series AP set is fact.

On the other hand, the service level of Lenovo SC in Malaysia, which you alluded to, really depends on which SC users go to. In Klang Valley, lots of complaints are directed toward the SC on LYP, but SC at IBM PJ has been regarded as good by users.
Moreover, for Y series, buyer of local set can upgrade warranty to 3 year on site, and that service is good (good response time. I have make use of 1 service call on my Y580 recently), whereas buyer of AP set don't have that option.

I think any potential buyers of Lenovo Y series will like to know all these info before making their purchase.
They will be able to weigh all the pro and con, and make the decision and bear with the consequence.

To all the re-sellers, good business.
To all the potential buyers, go in with your eyes wide open.

Guys just want to ask is it ok if I replace my 1TB HDD 5400rpm with 1TB SSHD..btw I have msata 24gb already..

what are I'm understand SSHD perform 3x faster than HDD 5400rpm..
and it's not fast as SSD but incredible fast than old HDD haha

ermhhhh any suggestion for me?
*
of course you could replace the HDD with SSHD (SSHD is just a normal HDD with build in SSD cache laugh.gif )
Seagate Momentus SSHD (1TB HDD + 64MB cache + 32G SSD) is < RM500.

laugh.gif i dont think so , cause heard other manufacturer gonna follow this price increasing trend.. , not only y series, those lenovo S410P , g400s  also suffer price hiking
sweat.gif buyer die la sweat.gif

Let's see if other brands also hike price. MYR is weak sweat.gif
But Y410p is totally not appealing anymore.
And Y510p, potential buyers may want to consider to spend only a bit more to get MSI or illegear/Clevo hmm.gif
