My y410p shift button is not fit very well (little temper ) (higher than other)(can see the white joint) other buttons is ok.
Any way to fix it?

ap set would not even have sirim sticker at all.

for checking the originality,
refer first page.

for the shift button, did it happen after certain usage or since the first time purchase?

It happen since first time purchase..
The shift button still functioned just little high than other button ...look not fix properly
Anyway to fix it ?

if you raised the concern when you first purchase you could have exchange to a new unit on the spot..
for now i think you need to bring it back to the person/shop you purchase from..
but the unit might need to go through warranty replacement instead of 1:1 replacement..

the esiest way to check if your laptop is legit unit,

when power up Tap F2 repeat and go into bios

Check the Part number

if it is 59369493, then it is local set. If it's not then it is a AP set with Fake SKMM sticker

Just wanted to share.
I kinda did this coz I was bored~.


Went out & bought myself an universal(12.7/9.6 mm) caddy, AKASA- RM 75(yeah, I know. Expensive liao but too lazy to go other store)


Removed the black plastic locking mechanism and attached to caddy.According to him, it might also doubled up as a switch in turning on the power supply to the Ultrabay.


Removed the top part to make it a 9.6 mm. HDD was secured(screwed).
Note: HDD was bought separately.


The aluminium casing was folded a bit(and the connector) so it could slide-in easily and fit. However, you could trim the folded part off.


However the bezel(DVD cover) of Y400 does not fit.
Nevertheless, here's a DIY tutorial on How to safely remove and install bezel (english).

P/s: without the bezel yer Laptops look a kinda disfigured.
